The wait wasn't long and the food was good. My server was presumptuous. We were only a party of 4 but gratuity was added into the check. My order was simple, wonton soup. We had hibachi completed for 2 and still no soup. She didn't return about my soup until after the chef was cleaning. I love to tip high, FOR GREAT SERVICE. I'm super understanding when it comes to people having bad days. But an entire restaurant having a bad night is inexcusable. We waited 45 min after being seated for our chef to come. Our salads and soups came after the fried rice. I got up myself to get our refills on drinks for our kids. Every order was wrong. The chef was having us exchange plates with strangers. The fried rice was WAY over cooked, the teriyaki chicken was just chicken with a sauce over the top once it was plated. We were not offered sauces. The hood wasn't working properly and the smoke from the lemon/vodka mixture went into my parents and sons eyes. They were nice enough to take 20% off although our bill was wrong too. We were charged an extra entree and an extra charge for fried rice. The sushi was good. And I hope for the sake of the mall, the manager at Stix can turn it around. Every table around us was having the same issues. Please don't go here until you've heard they've turned it around. read more

Visited Stix for lunch. It was a little after 1pm and I'm assuming I had missed the lunch hour rush because it was dead inside. What was interesting was how slow the service was even though the place was pretty much empty. The server gave me a heads up about their lunch special which allowed you to pick from two sushi rolls and it included a salad for $10.95. Unfortunately, the rolls included in this special were the "basic" sushi rolls. I ordered a crunchy shrimp and crunch crab roll. They were just okay...I've honestly had better sushi from Kroger. Really disappointing experience at dinner today and I doubt I will ever return. I don't even know where to start - from the mixup of our orders (I asked for salad and got miso soup - which was super watery), missing orders, bringing us dishes that we didn't order and then charging us for that item (I should have paid more attention to the bill) - and then lastly, we were celebrating a birthday, so they bought out the brownie, but no plates or forks for other people to share until we snagged a passing waiter and requested those items. The sushi we ordered also was just meh. Our table experienced a lot of chaos and thoughtlessness with the service, and then all these mishaps were apparently because our server was new! I also had the bad luck to sit in the seat where the smoke came towards from the grill, so I think honestly the ventilation could use some assistance. I went home and then realized that lingering smell of fried rice was actually coming from my hair! I would absolutely not recommend coming here, especially with a large group. The rice and the vegetarian food on the grill got cooked first and so only those folks could eat first - then the other proteins got cooked and my colleague sitting next to me had finished all his rice and so eat his veggies and fish by itself afterwards. Basically what this boils down to is that people are eating at different times. On September 7, 2020, I called to make reservations for my daughters 12th birthday at Stix in collierville. This reservation was for 10 people and for 4pm. We arrived at 4pm and checked in with the greeter. After checking in, she advised me, again, that they can only seat 6 at a time. And would we be ok with splitting the table up 5/5. I said yes that was fine. After 15 minutes of waiting "for the group to get up from the table and it be cleaned" we were asked to stand outside and wait. No problem. While waiting, a group of 4 walked up and I heard the greeter tell them it will be a 10 minute wait. After standing outside for a few minutes, a different young lady came outside and said that they can only seat 5 and the other 5 would have to wait. This had me VERY upset because I know for certain that I had reservations, and I know I confirmed the amount of people for the party. Not to mention we drove all the way from Millington, Tn to dine here for my daughters birthday. I'm certain that they were trying to give our table, that was already reserved, away to this group. So after literally arguing with the lady who came outside, looking dirty as if she hadn't bathed in days. I asked for the manager after she literally told me "I don't know what you me to do" GET ME my table that i reserved! She was very rude and had very nasty attitude. Afterwards, the manager came outside and said "the reservation was only for 5" I replied "No sir it was not!" I replayed the conversation back to him and informed him that the greeter has already informed us that they have to seat separately. He goes to say that we have to wait because there's a wait list. WHAT?? What sense does that make? Basically telling me that because someone walked up, they get one of our tables that was reserved at 1pm!! 3 hours ago!!!! Well, their food is amazing!!!! The service is like ok. I always get the general chu salmon and it's amazing. Salmon is cooked perfectly. So delicious. Their spicy edamame is so good. Service was great, it was quite crowded on a Saturday night. My mother in law and I were shopping I. The collierville mall and were craving some noodles and fried rice so we popped in. We were sat right away which was awesome and our food came out pretty quickly, which is great because we were super hungry! We ordered the sweet and sour soup and it's large and served two people - very flavorful! Highly recommend. Then we ordered orange chicken- so I hadn't dined here before and didn't realize the order is pretty big so we put in for two orders - yikes we have a lot of leftover orange chicken! Lol! Came here for a late lunch while in the area on business. Started with the seared dumplings and they were good. I ordered a Spicy salmon roll and a spicy yellow tail. The minute the waitress set the plate down it reeked of strong old fish. I thought maybe it's the plate or something around me. The spicy yellowtail is just a yellowtail roll with a huge glob on spicy sauce on top. I tried this one first. It was awful. Yellowtail is usually pretty mild, it tasted like a sour fish. I then tried the spicy salmon I had two pieces and couldn't eat anymore. Again a strong sour fish taste. Anyone that eats sushi should know that it does not smell and should hardly taste fishy. I've never been so disappointed when trying to grab a quick dinner. The service here is atrocious. I had an off night and my dad and I decided to come have dinner here. They were not busy or even half way full when we arrived, so there's no reason for why we had to wait for so long for our drink order or meal order to be taken. The table was sticky and not wiped down when we were seated and I literally felt my arm stuck to the table-- disgusting! The waiter wandered around with our food and offered it to the wrong table before going back to the kitchen and then coming to our table. We had placed a to go order that they forgot about and it took 3 waiters to figure that out which is just pathetic. We had been trying to flag down our waitress for 10 minutes to see where the to go order was! when we finally got her attention and asked where the go go order was she said "OH!!! Yeah... uh... let me go Check on that." She clearly forgot because she didn't come out of the kitchen for another 10 minutes. She came back out and lied to us and said "uh, sorry the chef made beef fried rice and it's gonna be a little longer." I don't think anyone's ever ordered beef fried rice, but okay. Apparently she didn't even include the to go order on the check that we had already closed out with another waiter (because we couldn't find our original waitress) so we signed yet another check without even a half-ass apology from any of the wait staff and no manager in sight. This restaurant is poorly run and barely functioning. I like grit and character and immoral things...you know, dirty. But not in the unhygienic way. This is how I feel about Stix, which is appropriate, because it is in Collierville. It is clean, pretty, Mayberry both in atmosphere and sushi...but like I said, I want a little pizzaz. So yes, Stix is a totally safe bet. And if you want to go there on a date or with your family, you're in luck. But I'm just not at that point in my life. Stopped in for a bite to eat since we were in the area. The service was great but it seems there's a new chef because some of our favorites didn't taste the same. Items weren't awful but they weren't as good as we remembered. The menu for sushi should definitely be updated. It states 6-10 pieces but each time we order you only get 6 in a roll. I asked the server to make sure there were 10 pieces in our roll. He smiled, apparently this was a frequent request as he said it depends how the chef prepares the sushi. I felt this was bull as each time we order sushi it's always 6, never more. So just change the menu to just say 6 pieces. It was our first time trying the egg drop soup and although different from your regular egg drop soup it was really good. The spring rolls were very greasy and not tightly rolled. :( read more

This is a good choice for a hibachi meal. You can also sit in a separate area and order sushi or other fare if you like. I have had their sushi and it is above average and they have fresh ingredients. As for the grill, it is well done and I have all the proteins and they're all good. It is a little hectic when they're busy, so service is a bit chaotic but tolerable. You get soup and salad before your chef arrives, sushi and appetizers are also available as well as alcohol. The meals are always good, although i am not a fan of broccoli so they prepare my veggies apart from everyone else. Four stars because it gets too hot in the close quarters and the rice and other portions are a little skimpy, as i have seen several other people order extra rice, extra veggies, etc. I have been here several times and will return occasionally. read more
