With an ever evolving menu, Stir is always a pleasant dinning experience before or after a visit to the art musuem. The service is attentive and the atmosphere is relaxed even during busy lunch hours. Most recently had the chance to try the trout. The skin was well seasoned and crispy while the meat was moist and soft. Heads up: ask for bread if they do not readily serve it and consider calling ahead to make a reservation if you want to eat at peak lunch hours.

Quiche with salad

I ordered the flavorful pork belly with heirloom beans as my entree. The dish was a work of art, both visually and in the interplay of flavor and texture. The only problem was it came with only about two tablespoons of the delicious beans. Next time I order this dish, I will order an extra half-cup of beans in the tasty sauce. Also, I asked for the kimchi puree on the side, and I thout was better without the puree. My husband got the quiche with salad. The large portion of quiche was delicious, but the salad had too much dressing. This is a beautiful restaurant, and the server was friendly, which made for a nice experience for us.

Restaurant in the Philadelphia Art Museum. (You must have tickets to be in the museum. Also, they require a reservation which was easy and we made right when we got there.) We opted for the served, sit down restaurant over the museum Cafe. Totally worth it. The bread is...holy moley (eat it). The burger was honestly FANTASTIC. The Stir Chopped salad was mediocre so maybe add a protein to zhuzh up the salad. At the end, they surprise you with a pine nut almond cookie which was chewy and delectable. Can't wait to come back just to eat here.

Grilled chicken BLT and fresh cut fries

I think lots of people skip the fine dining lunch experience because they think it's too pricey or they forget to make a reservation. It's so worth it compared to the cafe. The food is excellent and the service is great. We were surprised there wasn't any art on the walls but the design of the ceiling, the table tops and leather chairs were beautiful features.

Simply great. As the options around the museum are really limited, I ate here just out of convenience and didn't have any expectations, but the food is just amazing. I'll definitely visited again if I go to the museum.

Stir Chopped Salad ($10) with Salmon (additional $9) -- this is a half order, as the waiter kindly split our plates.

We ordered the crispy cheese curds (Wisconsin cheddar, smoked guajillo salsa, and charred scallion ranch). These were a unique take on the classic and I was here for it, definitely try these! I then had the wedge salad (blue cheese, nueske's bacon, cherry tomatoes, radish, pepitas, crispy onions, and thai basil goddess). There were no tomatoes on ours, and so we were given sliced avocado instead. This was an interesting attempt but not my favorite take on this dish, I probably would not get this again. However, the shrimp po boy buns came through to round off this meal! (crispy shrimp, smoky aioli, house made choppy chop, dill on two buttered potato rolls.) These were fantastic and absolutely fire. NOTE they are tiny, almost appetizer sized, which didnt bother me because after the salad and cheese curds I was feeling full already but I would go back and get two orders just for myself they were that good. All in all a great place, I recommend!

Everyone we interacted with was absolutely wonderful and pleasant, ranging from the team members to our fellow patrons. I had a gin and Sprite to drink and I ordered the burger for some grub. The drink was standard but on the strong side. I enjoyed the burger very much and found the fries to be hot and crispy, just as a good shoestring fry should be. Of course, we enjoyed the live music that swirled around the bar that evening. The band was great and upbeat. I would definitely return!

Unfortunately, this was by far the worst experience I've had. We had a 7 PM reservation and arrived at 7:15 PM. I acknowledge that we were late and apologized to the host. However, we arrived within the stated grace period. When we checked in, the hostess explained that because we arrived later within the grace period, our 90-minute seating window would still end based on the original reservation time. We acknowledged that and had absolutely no issue with it. What made the experience uncomfortable was how aggressively we were reminded about the time throughout the entire meal. We were reminded at least 5-6 separate times how much time we had left. Comments like "just so you know you have 25 minutes left" and "our next party is coming in 5-10 minutes" made it feel like staff was actively trying to rush us out before our reservation time had even ended. Mind you, we already understood the policy. One reminder would have been enough. Instead, it completely changed the energy of the evening and made us feel unwelcome and pressured to leave. We had originally planned to stay through our reservation and then move to the bar for the live music afterward, but after being repeatedly rushed, we decided to leave entirely and spend the rest of the night elsewhere. The most disappointing part was the interaction with the manager, Eric. Rather than listening or showing any understanding, he immediately became defensive and aggressive. He repeatedly insisted we were "15-20 minutes late," which was simply not true -- we arrived during the stated grace period. The issue was never the policy itself. It was the way we were treated throughout the night. It's unfortunate because this has genuinely been one of my favorite spots in Philly, and I've recommended it to multiple people. But this experience left a really bad impression, especially when bringing guests from out of town.

There are many tables, making it good for groups, but the interior is pretty bare. The wall is adorned with whimsical fox and chicken imagery, referencing the Hatch and Coop name. As of 05/2025, they supposedly offer 10% off your order by showing your SEPTA card. But, I'd confirm this offer before ordering to ensure it's honored. When I was there in the early morning, the cook (who also takes orders) didn't recognize the deal and didn't know how to punch it in. So, it was a bit of a letdown we couldn't redeem the deal, but we still wanted to try the sandwiches after hearing great things about them. I ordered The Hatch and Coop Sandwich (egg, cheese, chicken) on a round roll at the kiosk. You can customize your bread, egg (fried or scrambled), and cheese (provolone, american, or cheddar). The sandwiches come without any sauce unless you order sauce (extra $$) on the side. I highly recommend the Hatch Sauce- a typical mayo sauce with a little spice. I found The Hatch and Coop Sandwich to be just pretty good but I wish it had more heft to it. The chicken was juicy and well cooked, but I wish there was more. The cheese did the cheesing and coated the chicken, but the sandwich had far too many onions for my liking. With the Hatch Sauce, I felt the sandwich was tied together but it was a little odd to me the sandwich doesn't have sauce on its own. I'm giving Hatch and Coop the benefit of the doubt since it was so early in the morning, but I found my sandwich to be just OK. However, I will be back to try the fried chicken sandwiches, which I've heard rave reviews for.

Trying to score a seat at Friday Saturday Sunday on a whim is notoriously difficult, but my recent…read moreexperience as a solo walk-in proved that their hospitality is just as world-class as their kitchen. Despite the house being packed, the staff was incredibly accommodating from the second I walked through the door. While waiting for a spot to open up, they immediately ushered me into the bar area and took my drink order. The bar manager went out of her way to look after me, constantly checking in and reassuring me that a seat would turn over soon. True to her word, I was comfortably seated at the bar within 15 minutes. I opted for the full tasting menu with the wine pairing. Even though I was dining alone, the warmth of the staff meant I never felt isolated. The bartender looking after me was phenomenal--attentive, kind, accommodating, and just straight cool. The pacing was perfect, and the energy at the bar made the night. As for the meal itself, everything--and I mean everything--was excellent. Here is how the menu delivered: The Standouts: - Eggs and Caviar: A luxurious, flawless combination of potato, leek, and truffle that set an incredibly high bar right out of the gate. - Fusilli: Perfectly cooked pasta tossed with clams, a striking allium ash, and a deeply savory lobster sauce that had incredible depth. - Sweetbreads: Beautifully executed with mushroom, plantain, and a precise vin blanc. The touch of sweetness from the plantain was a brilliant contrast to the richness of the dish. - Fish Course: Flawlessly cooked fish paired with a sharp salsa verde, a complex sauce vin jaune, and served with a side of coco bread that was perfect for wiping the plate clean. - Koshihikari Rice: An absolute knockout. The texture of the premium rice combined with the subtle heat of aji dulce and the crunch of crispy mangalitsa pork was spectacular. - Grilled Short Rib: Meltingly tender, glazed in a rich oxtail jus with a hint of peanut that brought a unique, savory complexity to the finish. - Duck Egg Semifreddo: A vibrant, forward-thinking dessert utilizing mango, passion fruit, fig leaf, and tepache. It was exceptionally bright, balanced, and the perfect note to end on. The Verdict: Friday Saturday Sunday is easily one of the best dining experiences in Philadelphia. The food and wine pairings are operating at an elite level, but it is the elite, unpretentious hospitality that truly sets this place apart. Whether you are with a group or dining solo at the bar, it is a mandatory stop.

But you are getting not only spectacular food, but exquisite service, a gorgeous and intimate environment and a long and lingering meal - they aren't rushing you out here, they want you to rest between courses and have an excellent experience. It's a set prix fix menu that changes regularly of seven courses plus an opening snack and two desserts. Portions are tiny but it adds up and you will not leave hungry! I am a vegetarian and they easily accommodated me with advanced notice. They also offer a wine pairing, which we skipped, but know friends have done it and said it was fabulous (but be forewarned... they give full pours so you will be very tipsy!). We saw some couples sharing a single wine pairing and that seemed like a smart idea. It's very hard to get a reservation- on the first of the month they open up reservations for the following month, and they go fast! At the bar they have a different menu with full sized portions. Can't wait to go back and try that out! Highly, highly recommend and I can't wait for an excuse to go back!
