On this occasion Cheryl D. suggested egg flower soup, here. In the ten long years I've lived and worked on this side of town I have never been inspired to go here. Child said " Yes!! Egg flower!" Ok then. I callled in our takeout order. The nice lady on the phone said twenty minutes AND gave me our $ total. Hardly anyone does that. Love it. +1 Stir Crazy is EXACTLY 20 min from our house in Saturday night dinner time Tanasbourne Traffic. The food was ready when I went in. The nice man gave me our well packed box of dinner and offered me a menu. No one does that either. +1 The food was piping hot. +1 and stayed that way until we arrived home. Egg flower soup was perfect. Just whispers of egg whirled into broth. Exactly how my mom learned to make it at Chinese cooking school. Princess ate the whole quart. +1 ( she is sick remember and had been asleep for like 48 hours. Hungry child). Rice was perfect. +1 Sweet and sour chicken was pretty good. Lots of pineapple, peppers and onions in a flourescent pink goo packed separately from the battered chicken. Batter was a bit dense. +1 for veggies. -1 for batter. -1 for color. Potstickers were good, a bit thick. I liked the vinagery dipping sauce. +1 and -1 for doughyness. Bbq pork was thin, dried out,way overcooked. -1. ( Although it did look pretty). No. The bbq pork at Fred Meyer is better. ( But get it from Good Taste or Uwajimaya). Mandarin Eggplant was cut in tiny cubes and battered like the chicken. It was crunchy and packed separately from its sauce which was loaded with crunchy onions. I wanted to like it. Ask Cheryl. I have an eggplant thing. But. No. -1. Not a fan. I can think of three other nearby eggplant dishes I enjoy more. If my math is correct, that puts my score at a 2. I don't think that 2 stars adequately reflects our experience. And we did not try any veggies ( Princess chose three things, I wanted eggplant and dumplings....gotta draw a line somewhere) nor did we eat in. Wow....We haven't been to Stir Crazy Kitchen in over a year. We were wanting some "old school" Chinese food. We ordered fried shrimp, Kung pow chicken and sautéed string beans. The dough on the shrimp was thicker than the actual shrimp and still gooey on two of them. One still had part of the digestive tract in it. The chicken was so spicy and saturated in oil and the green beans were swimming in oil as well. We left all of the food and told the waitress. She laughed and said something to the other waitress, took our money and said nothing. Worst experience ever. However the long Island cocktail, and diet coke were average. Don't bother with these guys, the only thing guaranteed is a belly ache and a bad experience. read more

Great place for those who are looking for a Korean-Chinese menu. My wife can read the Korean menu but if you have a translator app that can help you pronounce the Korean names of the Korean-Chinese dishes that is a plus. We ordered the pork jjajangmyeon (pork black bean noodles), kkanpunggi (spicy garlic fried chicken), kkangsu saeu (chili shrimp), and beef tangsuyuk (sweet and sour beef). Service is great. We stumbled across this place by accident and we have zero regrets! My only "complaint" was I didn't care for the hot tea. I had the pad Thai and thought it was great. My boyfriend had the noodles and they were very tasty. I thought the portions were massive so we have plenty of leftovers. We will for sure be back. read more

BEST Korean style wings! If you like that garlic, crispy, sweet combo, you cannot find a better place. If you know anything about Koreanized (is that a word?) Chinese food like jjampong or jjajiangmyun, then this is the place for that too. Just ask for the "Korean menu". New ownership started in Aug 2022 when they migrated from the previously popular Lin's China Jade in Beaverton. The new owners are the best. Testament to that are the many customers who have followed them from Lin's to Stir Crazy. I would even add an extra star if I could for the quality of the steamed rice. Hey, we Asians know our rice! Holy cow batman, worst ever! Ok maybe third worst Chinese experience. Had a hankering for fried rice and got takeout. Ordered pork and veggie. First problem, when I got home, it was chicken and not pork and really had an off taste. The veggie tasted a bit better, but the mini corn has a strong flavor and really doesn't belong in rice in my opinion. We also got an order of spring rolls and those were tasty. However, if the can mess up rice this bad, I can't imagine how they do other dishes. Safe to say, I won't be going back there. Where or where is there a good Chinese restaurant in Hillsboro. Updating my review because I just received excellent customer service. The lady was super patient with me when I asked for recommendations. I still need to pinpoint the kind of tofu dish that I like. I got the hunan tofu stir fry with vegetables and it was just okay. I do appreciate that the entrée came with rice, however. Another gentleman rang me up and was super nice and interested in the fact that I was a pescatarian. I found out that their egg flower soup does not use chicken stock so I was stoked!! Years ago they used a chicken broth, but they don't anymore to accommodate the vegetarians. I love egg flower soup, but many restaurants still use a meat-based broth. The hot and sour soup is also vegetarian and very yummy. I will be getting the soups here again, and will try to find a good sweet, crispy tofu dish. read more

Some of the worst Chinese food I have ever had. Bland food. Burnt Pot Stickers. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I got chicken with Broccoli. Even after adding the sauces that came with it, it was bland. The pot stickers were the worst I have ever seen. They were not soft and fried on one side like they should be. They were hammered. Another new restaraunt and another three star review... We went in with friends and found the environment on the quiet side. Calming even. The food was adequate - the kung pao shrimp I had was bland despite being rated as a "hot" dish. I found no heat within, and the sauce they used was flat. The other dishes fell equally adequate but flat. Service would have been good except for the fact that one meal came out halfway through everyone else's meal. So bad timing and not impressive. If you're looking for an atmosphere conducive to conversation, this might be a good choice. That said, if you're looking for tasty Chinese fare, you can do better. I won't rule out another visit, but it would be for convenience more than anything else. read more

Came here on a whim and luckily so! Ordered pot stickers, general tso chicken, and string beans. The pot stickers were perfectly cooked with a crispy skin on the outside and soft dough on the inside. Went yesterday for lunch, have been frequenting this area quite a bit, mostly because of the bar next door. Anyways, great food here, I always order the sauteed string beans and they are delicious! Food and service are always top notch and I have never been ignored nor has the staff ever been rude. They are very attentive. I didn't realize until yesterday that they had a full bar, I thought they had beer and wine only. For lunch specials they give you a choice of brown or steamed white rice, I try to order the brown (healthier) but I almost always end up with the white because I forget to order brown. You also get a crab puff with it which I also try to avoid, but they are good!! You get your choice of soup either hot and sour or the egg drop, and I always get the hot and sour.. soo good. If you're looking for a reliable spot for a good lunch this is it. Lots of Intel employees frequent this place because it's right across from Intel. read more

Won Ton Soup, forget about it, ridiculously overcooked and mushy wontons. GenerTso's rubbery low quality chicken. Lo Mein had good flavor. Noodles were somewhat overccooked but mainly very chewy. Green Bean Chicken was okay. The green beans didn't have the flavors of garlic, soy or sesame oil that we expected. The chicken a little overcooked but the white meat was much more palatable than the mystery meat in the general tso's. BBQ Spareribs were reported as good. The full order of soup and the full order of general tso's got thrown out. What a waste of money! read more

I've only done delivery with Stir Crazy kitchen, and I've only been TOTALLY satisfied after the car drives away leaving us with our boxes of deliciousness! :) Stir Crazy offers an array of dishes dedicated to the Americanized Chinese food I've come to know, love and NEED! With a family and meals including sometimes, up to 8 people, we like to stay close to home and are always stoked when we find direct delivery options, we're not a fan of food delivery services, and Stir Crazy doesn't mess with them either . I'm a huge hot & sour soup lover, and I like their soup. Pretty standard and not too much to write about ... I've had it with tons of tofu and extra spicy peppery'ness, sometimes a bit bland and just mediocre, but never awful. I usually get a large and its still amazing next day. The pork fried rice is delicious and no funky meat pcs or residual gamey flavor. Not oily and no weird mouth field. I could taste the rice, seasons and vegetables as I carefully ate the rice with my favorite chopsticks, and was surprised at the layers of flavor. The white rice, light with jasmine flavors, just the right amount of 'sticky' and even the day old heated up perfectly with a damp paper towel over the container. Beef with broccoli was great. LOTS of flavor and crisp, steamed, fresh florets! The sauce is thin with garlic throughout and exactly what you'd expect with this dish. The KungPao wasn't hot. We always ask for extra chili sauce and oil, so this was a easy fix. Especially, considering most americanized places DON'T offer a kung pao kick anymore, that little pepper icon is all lies. Lots of veggies and we like the chicken looks like hand pulled meat and not pressed processed pieces. Sweet & Sour was decent, a little oily for my taste, but the fambam loved it. Sauce is on the side and not gross super thick red 'stuff'. I wish the breading wasn't so thick, but hey, that's sweet and sour chicken. Pot stickers were fresh and pan fried to perfection. Evenly cooked and full of flavor. I love the sauce they offer to dip, I dip, you dip, we dip ... I'm sure I'm missing a few items we've had, but I think you get the point about Stir Crazy! Is Stir Crazy an authentic Chinese restaurant? Probably not, but I don't give a damn. I really don't care if a place is authentic or not as long as I enjoy it. Besides, I don't think I can truly judge what is authentic Chinese food. Let's just say Stir Crazy is authentic Americanized Chinese food, and leave it that. Authentic or not, this is the way I prefer my Chinese food. This place offers a great value for lunch. Hot and sour or egg soup, a crab puff, your entree and rice (fried rice is only half a buck extra) for about $6.50. I'm not really a fan of the soup, so I always give it to one of my friends. I usually get the mandarin chicken, a tangy but sweet fried chicken with a ton of sauce, which I promptly mix into my fried rice. I find this dish so good it is hard to order other things. I can say the Kung Pao Chicken and Sesame Beef are also big hits. The serving size is huge. I can handle my business, but plenty of companions have taken half their plate for leftovers. The service is prompt and the people are friendly. Not the most impressive decor, but its cool to be able to keep an eye on the kitchen through the windows (this used to be part of Wu's Open Kitchen). read more

After reading the great reviews, we thought we would give the place a try. This place is situated next to one of our favorite Mexican places, and we thought; Two good eats in one center? Score! Only...This place wasn't so great. We started off with world won ton soup. I've never ever seen the broth brown in color, and all of my beloved chunks of bok choy, carrots & water chestnuts were shredded and diced. It was like being given gerber baby food, as if we couldn't chew our own vegetables. And the flavor was off, waaay off. We then proceeded to get our main dishes; Cashew nut chicken, pork dan dan noodles, szechuan beef and steamed rice. The Chicken came out first and smelled really god. It had decent flavor although fully loaded in msg which meant we would be tasting it for the rest of the night. The dan dan noodles came out next. I was a little surprised by them, as I'd only had them at PF changs before. These ones were quite different, but I was stoked to try something new. They were a mushy mess with no flavor what so ever. We sent those back. The beef was good, although after much discussion there was nothing szechuan about them. They weren't spicy in the least bit, and after we finally narrowed down the flavor, we realized they had the exact same sauce as the chicken. They also shredded a ton of carrots on top of the dish, leaving us sort of baffled as to why they were hiding their dish behind this mass amount of orange stuff. The seamed rice and hot tea were good. The fortune cookie was stale. We had to flag down our server to take back one of the dishes, they never came to check on us. So alas, our hunt for good, authentic Chinese cuisine hasn't ended just yet. I have to say, this was not a very good experience for us. The place is clean, and the wait staff friendly. They brought water and hot tea immediately, and the food smelled good. The soup, I ordered hot and sour; my companion ordered egg flower were average tasting. The food came out in a timely manner, but were smothered in sauce. The crispy eggplant was anything but crispy - soggy and swimming in a sweetened plum sauce, covered in half-sauteed onions...lots and lots of onions. The honey chicken was in shreds and also swimming in sauce, covered in half-sauteed onion chunks...lots and lots of onions. The food was tasty, but too sweet, and too much sauce. The fried rice was tastless and had dried eggs and frozen peas and carrots - nothing interesting here. Later both my companion and I realized they used MSG, which I suffered from - headache!! Went there for the first time, and we were impressed. The portion size is about average (I'm pretty sure every Chinese food place uses the same containers for "to-go" orders). The food was top notch.... We ordered some garlic pepper pork, broccoli beef, and the pork fried rice. The garlic pork was excellent and not too spicy for anyone's pallet, and the sauce was for the broccoli beef was just as grubbin. Before I get into the pork fried rice, I'll preface it by saying that I was so tired and weary of other place's fried rice being boring, bland, dry, and reminiscent of drywall spackle. However, this was not the case with our pork fried rice.... Imagine if you will, a space and time when the gods came down and blessed your food because Odin himself was going to dine beside you. This was my experience with the first bite of the fried rice. The pork was moist and flavorful, and the rice itself was not dry, and the flavor was so rich that my next meal might very well consist of the largest tub they have available of this magical stuff.
