Such a great music venue!! Even with a full house, there is plenty of room to dance, eat and enjoy time with friends. Meet fellow music enthusiasts right down front in the PIT. It's where it's at for your favorite show. Excellent variety of shows to choose from. A summer time must!

"Life is short, buy the damn concert tickets." - unknown That's exactly how we came to be here. My husband had a band on his bucket list and they were here. Just a couple hours from home to this Cove. What a great choice for venue. Outside, blocked off against the hotel. You can bring your own chairs, blanket or stand. There is lots of chair room if you're not on the hill. Good security going into the concert. Inside is not a bad seat in the cove. Food and drink at a hefty price. VIP seating of course. Lots of portable bathrooms. I had no trouble finding one that was in good condition. Lines for drink went fairly quickly. Security inside the cove was good too. Nice to have that security. Couldn't have asked for a better night. We got our chairs inspected on the way in. Purse checked...I almost got told mine was too big... never saw anything about a size requirement but took a small purse anyway. Shocked when he said it was close. No outside drink allowed. Would definitely come to another concert here.

From the back row no zoom. Sheltered from the wind.

Great venue and lots of options for places to stay very close. The casino and grounds are nice and clean. Check for shuttle services to make the trip in and out fast and easy.

Stir is a pretty awesome place to see an outdoor show. And with a pretty decent capacity, it draws a good mix of interesting acts. I don't think I'll ever get over bands the awkward feeling of bands 'playing to the crowd' and thinking that most of the people are from Iowa... "How you doing Council Bluffs?!" Wooo... but I live in Omaha... yay... That aside, there's pretty much everything you'd need here, with the exception of running water like Sam mentioned. Get ready for some porto action. But they're as clean as you can expect that kind of thing to be. Food vendors and $7 beers are also available. Never been to a show here that had 'assigned' seats, but they do sell out some acts, so depending on your scene you can either be on the 'floor' (flat grassy area) or up on the hill for a better, though further-away, view. For some of the more mellow shows, people bring lawn chairs and blankets. Also fun to watch the people in their Harrah's hotel rooms looking out their windows at you. Those must be some triple-pane windows...

Sold out Counting Crows concert at the Stir Cove.

The Stir Cove is a very nice outside venue. It's a little tight when a show is sold out, like it was at the Counting Crows this past weekend, but its a nice venue. The beer and food is obviously going to be expensive, but you can't do too much about that. I like that they let you bring in your own chairs, which is a HUGE plus for my wife and I. The Stir Cove has some amazing bands play there and I will definitely be going back to another show there soon! Actually, I'll be there this Wednesday to see the Arctic Monkeys!

Stand or sit to enjoy the concert but bring your own lawn chair and get here early!!

Great concert venue for the outdoor atmosphere in council bluffs, Iowa. I really enjoy how you can bring your lawn chair and still have a good seat no matter where you sit. The space is tight and there isn't much room so getting there early is a must but worth it. I really love the sound the outdoor venue has to offer and it is really fun to watch people look out their hotel bedrooms to preview the concert. If you do bring a chair be sure to remove the bag before getting to the front of the line to help keep the line moving. Stir Concert Cove does a great job with crowd control, speedy service for food and beverage and also helping keep the bands on track. I do wish there was a few more options for food. It is classic concession stand food with various drink options. Note: there is parking by the venue, you don't have to use casino parking.

Fix your parking. It shouldn't take over an hour to get out of the lot. They need a better system for getting home.

Not because of the shows per se, but because of the community this place has created. The employees who make it all happen. I'll talk specifically about tonight. Went to a show, and had an issue with my ticket. This issue was an issue I created by making a mistake when the tickets were transferred, but Steelhouse employees were so quick and helpful. They took something that could have ruined a whole evening, and they resolved it within minutes. That alone was impressive and very kind especially since the mistake was not on their end. I was greeted by familiar faces, some who seemed to even remember me back. My next experience was specifically upstairs in the balcony. I'm currently expecting and needed to sit down and rest for a bit due to some complications I've been having. The employees checked on me regularly and went way above and beyond to make sure I was well cared for. I'm not special, they did this to everyone there. I saw paramedics with a gentleman, and shortly after, an employee took the rest of his evening to sit next to this ill person and assist them until I can only assume their ride arrived safely. The janitors were kind, and picked up very quickly after people's accidents left and right. Their work does not go unappreciated by people like me, who could've slipped and fallen on the spilled drinks along the way to and from the GA floor. Even the elevator greeters genuinely seemed excited for you to experience all this place had to offer. The cops that nod your way as you exit the venue are kind as well. This place doesn't appear to be an establishment of employees, but a community built upon responsibility and caring for one another - what a venue should be. I will be back, and I cannot wait to greet the faces of those who work so hard to make simple concerts so so special and memorable in ways that you just don't find just anywhere.

The service is too notch and plenty of ushers do walk you directly to your seats. There are at least four bars from what I saw (one in main hallway and three in the seating/stage area). There were plenty of bartenders as well. They have a coat check in and there's plenty of space to stand around before the show starts. My only complaint is the seats are small foldable chairs and connected to each other so you can't move them at all and you can be touching elbows or bottoms depending on the size of people

There's a large area on the second floor where tables and chairs are set up for conversations and presentations. I wanted a coffee at intermission and when I asked what coffee they serve, she said "decaf," which is as a little annoying. Check out the Omaha Performing Arts website for information about shows here and at the other OPA venues (the Steelhouse and the Orpheum Theater), I have been here for so many events, but the thing that prompted me to write this review wasn't an actual performance. We (the Old Market Association) were given a tour of the venue - on the stage and in the dressing rooms. In the empty hall, we could really hear how amazing the acoustics are, and could see how the architecture was designed to accomplish this. And the dressing rooms - which I had never thought about, are beautiful as well as practical. We could see how a touring act would appreciate the thoughtfulness here, and obviously that's going to make a difference to people - to know the respect performers are given. This is truly a special place. I highly recommend a visit. With the variety of shows here, there definitely will be something you will love.

The starters: Crudo--our surprising favorite--contained buttery yet tart scallops we couldn't shut up about, and fresh made tortellini in a rich red pepper sauce we were spooning out at the end. It seems horribly laid out, almost every time I go, we go the wrong direction to our seats because signs don't direct you properly and are confusing, even venue staff seem confused at how to direct you to your seats. This results in a lot of backtracking as the venue is huge. Most seats are nice but the very upper bowl is very steep, terrifying and never a desirable spot to be in. More recently, I've gone to Disney on ICE and have become even more unimpressed that they have zero diaper changing tables--it's just a hard counter out in the open. One time I even walked to the family bathroom, still a counter. I understand that most shows/events here aren't exactly for small children but to not even have that accessibility is wrong (and then expect people to bring in clear bags so your child doesn't have a cover/cushion at all to change them on). Seems like this would be a minor adjustment the venue could make to improve quality, and it can't be that expensive with all of the money they make on parking and concessions . Pros are of course that it is a big venue that gets decent shows and service from concession staff has always been friendly, even during packed shows.
