This place is a spectacular little world of wonder and adventure. Over the course of my trip, I got to experience so many different sides of it. I attended an event on a Friday night, enjoyed specialty drinks, and watched a Shakespeare performance. I had so much fun! During the weekdays, I took a few meetings there while enjoying matcha and snacks. On another day, I simply came in to relax and unwind. What I loved most is that The Reading Room somehow manages to be a place for everyone. It's somewhere to meet new friends, get some work done, have a quiet moment alone, or come out and have fun at an event. Kids, adults, cocktail lovers, tea drinkers, readers, remote workers. There's a little something for everyone. And Sam, the owner, is absolutely fantastic. I was spoiled with great conversation, genuine hospitality, and impeccable service throughout my visits. I came to Omaha looking for somewhere to work and left feeling like I had discovered one of the city's hidden gems. I couldn't ask for a better place to spend my time.

I chose "Marianna's Marvelous Old Fashioned" which was delicious and also strong. Staff was really nice, and I felt comfortable there. I plan to pay attention to events here and return - or I might even just come here to read sometime and try another delicious cocktail, or maybe a mocktail, next time.

I split the Thai chicken and waffles with my sister and they had some amazing flavor. Not sure why they were green but they tasted great. The side of bacon scared me at first bc of the price but it's FULLY worth it. We got a huge plate of bacon and it was cooked perfectly. The side hash brown cake thing was also amazing - crispy on the outside, soft on the inside - incredibly unique in the execution and amazing. The espresso martini affogato improves on the original martini since I like some cream in mine. Make sure to plan some time for bunch though. It was about 2 hours before we got out of there (partially bc we ordered a little staggered) but we did have a nice long wait to get any drinks or food. Vibes and music were incredible as always.

We've been for steak night, which was terrific; this time we enjoyed perfect cheeseburgers with sides of Mac and cheese and Brussels sprouts. The Mac and cheese is noteworthy for its capacity to grow in volume while being consumed - a takeout box will be necessary to save the goodness for later meals. Brussels sprouts are seasoned, roasted, all the things that need to happen to turn this questionable veggie into a savory treat. Taps are varied and include local choices. Happy hour menu includes a $6 old fashioned

The Old Fashioneds are some of the best I've had anywhere, and Aaron is one of the most talented mixologists in the city. In fact, Aaron is a big reason many people keep coming back. He's exceptional at what he does, and every drink reflects that level of skill. The espresso martinis are fantastic, but the "Not Espresso Martini" was an unexpected favorite that kept us coming back. One of the things I love most is that the menu changes seasonally, giving us a reason to come back and work our way through the new cocktails to find our latest favorite. The bartenders are knowledgeable, welcoming, and clearly passionate about their craft. The atmosphere is cozy, intimate, and full of character. There are actual typewriters throughout the space, which perfectly fits the literary theme and adds to the experience. As a fun touch, my friend always receives a book with her receipt and reads a random paragraph before we leave. It's those little details that make Inkwell feel like a hidden gem rather than just another bar. If you're looking for creative cocktails, talented bartenders, and a unique atmosphere, Inkwell is absolutely worth a visit. Such a vibe.

It's a small,…read moreintimate space--maybe seats around 30, with room for more if people are standing--so don't come expecting a big, loud bar. That's actually part of the appeal. Drinks are solid and consistently well made. Nothing gimmicky, just good cocktails done right. The ambiance is fair but comfortable, and the size makes it ideal if you're looking to have a real conversation with someone without yelling over music or crowds. Location is another plus. It's very convenient if you want a drink before or after a Westside game, or just need a low-key stop nearby. If you're after a cozy, intimate spot with good drinks and a relaxed vibe, Inkwell Bar delivers.

We were decently early on a Saturday night so we were able to slip right into a table! The food was good, I had the hummus plate with pita and cucumbers for dipping, love that they offer both options! The bartender whipped up a mocktail in a martini glass so I could still play along on our "Martini Flight Night" across Omaha! It was a spicy martini, with some fancy black salt, I'm not quite sure, but it was fantastic!

Walked in around 2:30 pm on a total snow day and basically had the place to myself, which was kind of perfect. The vibe inside is exactly what I want in a bar: dark, moody, a little sexy, with dim lighting and rich wood tones. Total escape from the bland strip-mall parking lot outside. Night-and-day difference the second you step through the door. Happy hour runs every day until 6 pm (huge win), so I grabbed the Toasted & Roasted martini for $9--yes, it comes with a toasted marshmallow garnish that actually works--and it was dangerously good. Sweet, smoky, strong... one of those drinks you sip slowly because you don't want it to end. Paired it with the buffalo chicken sliders + fries and demolished everything. Sliders were spicy without being overkill, sauce was on point, and the fries were perfectly crispy. Service was friendly and quick even though it was quiet, and the bartender checked in just the right amount. Prices felt fair (especially with happy hour), and the whole experience just felt... cool. Like the kind of neighborhood spot you brag about finding. Already texted my local friends that they've been sleeping on this place. West End Omaha, I'll be back--hopefully next time with a bigger group so we can try more of the menu. Highly recommend!
