As soon as we stepped in the door, a sales rep was immediately by our side to greet us, and cheerily too, not with a scowl like at the other place. We were immediately shown some mattresses in our price range and quickly settled on one we liked. The two sales reps were with us the whole time, showing us different models, asking us to try them, doing what I'd expect any self-respecting sales rep to do. And, when we were ready and feeling confident about buying, they were quick to offer us awesome deals, quick next day delivery, and were even kind enough to allow us some space to talk and think it over, before we finally signed the papers and paid for the mattress package. To the reps at Erie: this is what you're SUPPOSED to do. This is how transactions go if you treat your customers with respect and courtesy, they end up buying a mattress, box spring, and frame, and are happy to do so! Seriously, it is the best sleep we've ever gotten, and I still can't believe we OWN it (we're used to getting good nights of sleep when we travel and stay in hotels, haha). Ken and Ralph got us set up with a real nice quality mattress that we will most likely love for life. We had a little trouble with our next-day delivery (they told us they came, but they clearly didn't, and we had to do a lot of work on our own to track down someone to deliver it at the time they promised), but that was our only major complaint. Luckily the delivery was free, or we would have been far less pleased.

The leather was terrible and did not hold up for a month. we complained and we told we washed the leather which was not true. the couch was 8000$ and lasted one year and was trashed. Stickley would not replace the leather. I would never buy from them again. Sad such a great company fell apart.

They stock good, solid, pieces in a variety of styles, which are all tasteful. The staff is friendly and personable. Gideon's also keeps all of their various internet platforms up to date with what they have in stock, which is something I really appreciate. But the store is lovely, so go visit! As far as layout- upholstered items such as couches and big chairs are in the front space where they are better protected from the elements. The door to the back is where their tables, dressers, buffets, and other hard furniture are. The note I made is that they have sets but they are typically broken up into the type of furniture. For example you like a dresser and wish there was a matching nightstand for it then you will likely find it in the nightstands. Overall a very solid place to seek furniture.

I had to go get them. Do they not have a delivery address with the house #? I was baffled. Got inside about to take the plastic off the sofa and there is a huge hole in the middle. I immediately refused the furniture and had them leave. Called American Freight and was told my entire order would be refunded including shipping, which as you might have guessed did not happen! The entire building (basement, garage, main floor and second floor) is full of very well organized items. There were spiderwebs and visible dust in some places but overall pretty clean. I wanted to wash my hands before I left but bathrooms are currently not available to customers due to COVID. All staff wore masks, hand sanitizer was available at the door, and all other customers that I saw had masks on as well. Each floor has at least two means of egress via stairs. There is an operational freight elevator but I'm not sure if they allow customers with mobility challenges to use it. I like that their sections of records and books had been sorted by genre - that makes looking for a specific title much easier. We found the prices a little high though we didn't find anything to purchase and negotiate. Lots to see, some beautiful wood furniture, and we would definitely stop back.

Antiques West is an incredible Syracuse gem that anyone who'd enjoy wandering through a deceptively…read morehuge maze of antique, vintage, and secondhand items would be crazy to overlook! It's a one-story warehouse-style building that's been sectioned and compartmented off into smaller areas where the wares of dozens (I think---it seemed that diverse, anyway) of individual vendors are arranged. The layout of the actual interior is deceptive in that you eventually reach a point toward the back of the main building where you realize that a series of doorways (and with abundant signage indicating what you'll find through each one) actually leads to several additional huge spaces beyond, each with even more items to browse. One of these "back room" areas contained multiple racks filled with vintage clothing (both women's and men's) that had clearly been carefully curated via the vendor's high standards of overall quality/vintage condition, and the diverse range of clothing types (costumey vs. casual/everyday vs. formal/dressy, etc.) was particularly impressive. My visit to AW happened accidentally and with only about an hour remaining until they closed for the day, so I know I didn't get to see all the rooms, let alone all the items, that were available at that time. Even so, I managed to find a wide selection of things to purchase (art prints, vintage collectible calendars, 5+ articles of clothing, two beautiful lamps, and more!) and was definitely able to confirm AW as a 100% worthwhile stop to include on any list of must-visit Syracuse antique/vintage shops. And what's more, every single staff member and vendor that I encountered while I was shopping went absolutely above and beyond in helping me find my way around, learn more about the back stories of certain items I expressed interest in, and trying on the clothing items I'd picked out prior to deciding whether to buy them. They seemed genuinely interested in getting to know me as a first-time shopper, and in turn I got to know several of them on a first-name basis even in the short amount of time I had to spend that afternoon. Overall, I am stoked with my thrift store finds. The workers up front weren't particularly attentive. Their customer service skills were a 6 out of 10. The place has a ton of shoes and everything is nicely organized by color (including the plates/house ware section). There is a ton of clothes and some art, children's games, and lots of chairs. There is a large parking lot and they accept donations as well.

Many of my favorite pieces of clothing have come from this particular store. Also, there is a large assortment of housewares and, depending upon what is available, sometimes a large assortment of furniture. We needed several folding chairs for a family event and I went in weekly until I had the number of chairs that we needed. As with my clothing purchases, some of my favorite furniture items (bedroom dressers in particular) and housewares are from the Salvation Army. Although I am not an antique collector per se, I've seen some great vintage furniture and houseware itms for sale. As for the cleanliness of the store - well, these are donated items so not everything is sparkling! The long-time employees are friendly and engaging; some of the newer ones may not have acquired the skills to work in a retail environment - which is the case in even upscale retail stores as well. So I recommend a trip to the Salvation Army - even without a planned purchase in mind. You have to factor in enough time to look around. You never know...
