Saturday evening, our car battery actually exploded in a parking lot. We called AAA, and the estimated wait time was three and a half hours, far beyond the one-hour window they have before you're allowed to call your own company. While waiting for the AAA company, we reached out to several other towing services, but no one was available. Then we called Stickles Towing, and the driver was absolutely amazing. He was upfront that he was backed up at least two and a half hours, but he genuinely made an effort to rearrange his route to get to us as soon as possible. He even called to follow up and check if we still needed help. That level of professionalism and care really stood out. Unfortunately, we ended up replacing the battery ourselves in the parking lot at the four-hour mark, but even though this would have been an out-of-pocket service, his dedication and kindness didn't go unnoticed. I can't say enough good things about Joe and Stickles Towing. I purchased a used car from a local dealership which broke down within days of taking it home. The dealership, although obligated by their own contract to handle the repairs, was no help in getting it towed which left me having to find a tow service to get the car out of a store parking garage and over to the dealer on Memorial Day during their limited holiday hours. Joe answered the phone quickly, got my info, gave me the exact price, and was able to meet me at the store lot not even two hours later. Not only were they able to get everything loaded up within minutes, but he refused to take my credit card info until he tried having the dealership pay for the tow as it was ultimately their responsibility (which they did). I called Stickles towing at work to get a quote, he quoted me 200$ to pick up a Chevy Taho that required a flatbed, it was about 40 miles outside of the city,. my boyfriend was stranded there and I needed to get him to my mechanic, they picked him and the truck up at exactly the time they said they would. My bf who was at a sheets gave me the wrong address which in turn I gave Stickles, it added on another 5 miles (he had to go to another sheets) .. but they stuck to the price they quoted me. which is pretty awesome of them. I had a flat tire in my on-street parking spot and called several nearby auto mechanics and nobody could stop by. This company only cares about taking your money. I parked my truck in the back of a parking lot. I asked for permission from the owner of the parking lot. He said it was ok. I parked off to the side because I did not want to block anyone. Low and behold it was a Stickles Employee parking spot and they park a tow truck there. The guy told me there was a sign. The sign was behind some trees and you couldn't see any writing on it from 5 feet away. It was faded off. It looked to be 20 years old. I called the people to ask them why they towed me and they said because I parked in a no parking zone. There was ample parking to park behind my truck. They charged me $185. Typical low life scheme to make money. They can't find real jobs or ways to make money so they tow cars for no reason. They will do anything to take advantage of someone. BEWARE!!!!!!!!! I am absolutely disgusted with this company! My truck was towed last evening because I ran out of gas pulling into a gas station. I had permission to leave my truck in the lot while I went for money for fuel.On my way back I saw a flatbed pulling up behind my truck. I had just gotten back with money for gas and was going to get gas and leave. I ran up explaining myself that I was not from the area and went to get money to leave. MY TRUCK WAS NOT HOOKED UP YET and the driver told me that because he is there that he is taking the truck. while I was getting in my truck to leave he threw chains on it so I couldn't pull off!! he said I had to pay 110 now or 180 at the shop. I didn't have it and he asked how much I had maybe we could work something out. I showed him I had just borrowed 50 dollars and that's all I have.i begged him to let me go. he said it wasn't enough. the gas attendant even told him it was ok not to tow it but he took it anyway. I spoke to tow owner in morning after wondering the city streets all night and he said to have gas station call him verifying the driver was told by attendant it was ok for me to leave and he would work something out. I did that and he told me theres nothing he can do for me now. I had to pay to get it back. I have no way to get it back. im stuck in the city with nowhere to go again tonight. They are liars and thieves and I am baffled how a business can treat the community members like this and be so dishonest and hurtful! read more
