This review is an update from my previous book-length explanation of why Alin Zahan is a fraud. We…read morehired a reputable cabinet company to look at our kitchen cabinets and recommend the best (and least invasive) way to correct Artisan's (and Alin's) inferior work. They initially recommended removing the facings only, but unfortunately, they will have to remove at least half of the cabinets because there are too many flaws and the staining work is too inferior. The painter/stainer looked at our cabinets and said (and I quote): "This is a half-ass job, and I can't match the stain and wouldn't want to try because of the inferior work." Also, the Artisan amateurs rigged the cabinet hinges with wooden shims and the Butler's pantry hinges with cardboard shims to make them work (SEE pictures). If this type of rigging doesn't seem amateurish, I don't know what does.

KC Remodels has handled several projects in our home (repeat buyer). Most recently, we had a wood…read moreburning fireplace installed in our home that required removal of a window and exterior wall. Alin was present through the entire process. He answered questions, was proactive in scheduling his crew and had our project completed on time and within budget. We could not be more pleased with the final product, the professionalism of KC Remodels and the follow up once the project was completed to ensure we were happy. We will hire KC Remodels again and again. Remodel projects are a two-way street. They require transparency, open communication and respect. This was 100% our experience with Alin and his entire crew.

We had interviewed several contractors to remodel our kitchen. And then Ryan from Crown Cabinetry…read morearrived. He spent time learning about our preferences, design ideas and our budget. Ryan came back with several design proposals and we chose the one that fit our needs. He took the time to look at the current configuration and warned us about a possible future expense when the project got underway. He was on site to supervise the project, his subs were outstanding and the kitchen was finished on time. We decided last minute to change the flooring and he made it work. Ten years in, I still love the look and with a large family, the durability has been unmatched. I called to ask for a drawer slide that I had broken. Ryan sent his repairman out and installed a new one at no charge. I highly recommend Crown Cabinetry and Ryan!

We contracted this company based upon the recommendation of a former neighbor. First of all, I have…read morecommunicated our issues with the owner. I have, also, told him that our impression of the quality of the cabinets is highly satisfactory. But, the job was a complete kitchen and more than just one issue arose with regard to other work. The most significant is that during the project, their tile layer stopped working for a couple of weeks due to COVID-19 and another tile layer was brought in to lay what we were led to think was a tile that closely matched our existing tile. Project manager brought a sample which was very close to the color of our tile. We agreed it was a good choice because of the tile we had. We found out, after it was installed, that it came in a batch that contained several lighter colors. It just happened that the sample brought by the project manager was one that was very close to the color of our existing tile. Most of what was installed was the much lighter colors. I notified the owner in September that we were not satisfied with the tile work, that grout was dry and coming out when I tried to clean. He set an appointment to come on September 23. He got to our front door and informed me that he wasn't coming in as he had just received a call that his son was going for medical care as he might have the virus. Obviously, I was glad he didn't take any chance with our health. I heard nothing from him so I texted him on 10/21/20 to ask if his son was okay. He replied quickly letting me know that it was not the virus. On 10/23/20, I texted "Do you plan to reschedule a time to address (at least the tile) issues?' He, again, replied that same day saying, "Yes. Let me look at my calendar next week. I am currently on vacation. Sorry I have not reached out before." As I have not heard from him since, I consider his actions to have "blown off my concerns." We paid for a quality job. He was very convincing in the discussion of the contract that he works do the job his customers expect. In looking back, I would not have contracted him as general contractor but would have found quality cabinets (the ones his company installed seem to be just that) but I WOULD NOT HAVE THEM DO the complete kitchen project. I would, definitely, use A DEPENDABLE REMODEL, LLC who did the demo and reinstall of the cabinets. Of course, I did not know about their work at the time as they were subs of Crown Cabinetry. The Crown Cabinetry company has two components as I learned after we were in contract. One is the Crown Cabinetry and the other is a remodeling company. I do not know the name of that company. I am going to make how he handled this be as known as I have the ability. I am sad to have the job be poor quality in some aspects but I,also, feel disillusioned by who I thought he was. The cabinets are made in Abilene, KS. The address shows the exact same street and street number there as the Blue Springs, Crown Cabinetry Showroom. That seems very odd!

They began working on it fairly quickly and they completed the job to spec per the drawing, and I would say it looks great. Their framer is a magician and I did not see him have to do a single re-cut. The patch work done looks spectacular as well. They were prompt, clean, flexible, and no job was too small for them which given the current times, it was really appreciated. I would recommend them. I did see a negative review on here prior to hiring them but decided one bad review in a pool of good ones tells me there is more to the story. I did some of my own research, the case the user on here filed was dismissed in JOCO courts. It seems he is a wealthy business person who is trying to use his money and status to coerce the company into doing "free" work by claiming the job was not done correctly or was unsafe. I would take their review with a grain of salt.

I have used Tony from AMC Custom Tile for three separate jobs now…read more He supplied and installed my kitchen counter tops during a recent kitchen remodel. Prices were more reasonable than other providers that I had priced. From estimate to finished product was very quick. Work was top notch. Have had one small problem, several months later, that was corrected the day after I reported it, at no charge. He also contracted two bathroom total remodels, taking care of every aspect of demolition, tile installation, vanity, fixtures, drywall, and plumbing. He will refer you to supply houses that are all in the Lenexa area to select your materials. He'll take it from there. As any remodel of an older house, we ran into several issues along the way. All were presented to me, with options to get around that hurdle. I have been more than happy with the way all work looks and functions. I got an expensive looking spa-like bathroom for a price you can deal with. All workers were careful to lay floor protection where they tracked and left your home as clean as possible each day upon leaving. Being respectful and keeping you informed along the way, helps ease your mind that the job is getting done right. They had to answer hundreds of questions from me, as the job progressed, which they did with patience. I dont think you would be disappointed in their work. Check out the website for example photos!

Tony Cirrintano had been recommended to us by our plumber, and we are so glad we chose to go with his company. From the first moment we began to work with him, he was so honest and helpful. He didn't try to push us to invest more money in the job than we wanted to, but he gave us all of the information about the available products and helped guide us to our decision. We relied on his professional opinion of which tile would look the best and felt total confidence that he was experienced enough to know which ones would work and which ones wouldn't. Words cannot express how pleased we are with AMC's work. It is perfection! We cannot find one thing to complain about! Our shower is absolutely beautiful....like something you would find in a spa resort! All of Tony's recommendations turned out to be so much better than anything we could have come up with on our own. The two employees that came to do the tile work were so friendly and respectful of us and our home. We felt totally comfortable having them come into our house everyday while we were away at work. After work, we always came home excited to see what they had done that day. As we saw the job coming together, we were amazed at their level of expertise. Everything was laid down perfectly and the tile pattern was immaculate. If I could give Tony and AMC 100 stars, I would. They were THAT good!

With all the rain this season I knew things would continue to worsen and I assumed it was a problem with the flashing. I contacted my insurance agent for a referral and he recommended KC Roofing & Restoration Solutions. This company was more than accommodating and promptly visited Mom's home to review the situation. The hard truth was that the company that had put the existing roof in place had used the incorrect flashing and it had pulled away. The flashing was not meant to be used on masonry. Charles was great to work with and explained what needed to be done with a quick turnaround on the estimate. He answered all my questions and now that the work is completed I am more than happy. During the process today, Charles provided me with photos of the different stages of the work - even found a good match for the existing roofing shingles and used waterproof membrane (like an honest roofer should!) before replacing the shingles and finishing with lead flashing (which is what should have been used previously). Oh, and I also had them replace the chimney "cap" as it was also contributing to the leaking issues. Highly recommend - did not want to have a mold remediation sometime down the road!
