They showed up on time, were very affordable, kind, and did the project well, picking up all debris and leaving our yard just as clean as they found it. If I had known then, what I know now, I would have secured additional quotes from other experience roofers. I do not have issue with the workmanship of the 3 kick-out flashings your employee/contractor. As far as I'm concerned, he's a true craftsman's. I do, however, have issue with what you quoted as related to the amount of time spent on the project and the cost of the materials. If I had known your employee would spend less than 45 minutes at my house I would have gotten additional quotes. I believe the cost of materials (what I would have paid for the parts): Materials: $3.00, 3 each, 8 x 8 Step flashing, modified to be a kick-out flashing $1.00 each $1.00, 12 nails - Less than a $1.00 $7.00, 1 - Partial tube of caulking $11.00 total cost of materials Labor Charge out Rate: $700 less $11.00 equals $689 for less than 45 minutes of labor. My math shows your charge out rate of $918 an hour. You may recall, I mentioned these facts to you when you advised me the work had been completed. I'm going to pay this bill because I did not get additional quotes. I hope others will learn from my mistake of not receiving a second quote.

Cost was $100. NOTE: Two other roofers wanted $400 to fix the problem!!! Fast forward to 05.2025. I noticed several black spots up high on my ceiling. Matt came out to check the spots. I wondered if it was mold...It was also cleaning day. It was determined by a long handled duster, that the black spots were just dust! Matt said "No charge" !!! This was a four day job and they arrived exactly on time each day and efficiently worked to accomplish what they needed to (then left for the day, so probably only in the house about 4 hrs/day) - two days of prep/ painting, a day to dry and final day to ensure everything looked great and reassemble the island. They were meticulous about ensuring anything around the painted area wouldn't be damaged (ie: counter tops, floors). Other two levels on top are 10' ceilings. It's tall, it's tough to paint. From the paint crew, there was virtually no paint prep beyond pressure washing the house before spraying with paint. The caulk around the windows has already failed three months later, nail holes are clearly visible, our metal roof is dented everywhere they stood and put ladders on it, our agreement that they would remove and replace all rotten wood amounted to the crew taking out one board and leaving enough shrapnel of that board on our roof to clog the gutter twice. They did take out another board when called back out. I think we need to completely repaint the house. Incredibly disappointed. We called them out I think three times to fix damage and re-caulk nail holes and still.... it just looks crappy. I should have turned back when I found out there was no contract to sign.

He looked the situation over closely and told me what I needed and gave me the name of a company that does that type of work. My neighbor asked for his opinion on her situation and he said her guttering was too small for the volume of water. He sent a crew out four days later and completed the job for her. One of the crew members noticed something had been done wrong by another company when he got up on the roof. She is going to have Eldon and Sons correct that before it becomes a bigger issue. I also had two replacement windows go bad. I called Jerry at Eldon and Sons and he ordered the replacements which were installed the day they did my neighbor's guttering job. No charge. No hassle. They were glad to take care of the problem. If all businesses related to construction and otherwise did business the way Eldon and Sons does, there would be a lot more happy homeowners. Too often I hear nightmare stories about home repair companies and I cringe. I never hestitate to refer anyone to Eldon and Sons. That includes my fellow yelpers!
