Increasing my review from two stars to five, and that's only because six stars aren't an option! Will checked into what had happened with our original quote. Turns out the lack of follow up was due to a bad handoff of info when the estimator who we originally worked with was let go from the company, and our estimate had fallen between the cracks. Will sugarcoated nothing, and was straight with us on what had happened. Not only was he extremely apologetic for the situation, he was extremely determined to show us that our original experience is not what Andersen Contracting is about as a company. Will came out personally to rework the original quote, which we had in a matter of days. He was helpful in assisting us in planning the project, answered all of our questions, and went above and beyond in adjusting the quote as our scope of work evolved. Here's the kicker - over a period of weeks while it took us far, FAR too long to make our final selections and decisions, Will was nothing but patient and helpful... I'm embarrassed to admit he was far MORE patient with us than we were in our first dealings with his company. He checked in periodically to check on status and offer any assistance we might need, but was never pushy or pressuring. Great customer service, and I can't say enough good things about how well we've been treated. I'm pleased to report we've finally made our final selections and are ready to move forward with our project - and that we have now experienced the reasons why Andersen contracting has the stellar reviews they carry here and on other sites. I look forward to reporting back on the finished project and sharing pictures, and I know we're in good hands.

I hired Jami to revise interior drawings for my barndominium and assist with overall design, with…read morethe goal of reducing last-minute changes during construction. She indicated she could help revise the plans, assist with subcontractors, and provide design guidance, so I paid her fee in full. After revised drawings were provided and framing began, some issues immediately became apparent. For example, one wall aligned in a way that conflicted with a window, and the garage entry layout did not allow for the mudroom seating and cabinetry we had discussed. Because construction was already underway and scheduling was tight, adjustments had to be made quickly on site, something that I had specifically hoped to avoid. I contacted Jami to discuss these concerns, but immediate assistance was not available and my framer had a very tight timeline to complete this project. When I later shared my frustration, the conversation did not feel productive, and I did not receive follow-up communication afterward. Given the cost of the services, I expected greater accuracy in the drawings and some support during construction as well as design assistance during the project. Overall, the experience definitely did not meet my expectations.

This goes on and on. They could not even total up their own line items correctly. I do not know if all Paul Davis franchises work this way or not. The corporate office has not been helpful. The Owner of this business needs a lesson in accounting. Check their bills for every line item, and make sure they did it. Make sure there are not duplicates between the base invoice and any change orders. Make sure they do not try and collect the O&P on the items that were not done.
