After 1 year I still do not have a valid bill from them. They keep charging for things they did not do and then multiple charges for flooring in our bedroom. Carpet, Oak #1 and Oak #2. This goes on and on. They could not even total up their own line items correctly. I do not know if all Paul Davis franchises work this way or not. The corporate office has not been helpful. The Owner of this business needs a lesson in accounting. Check their bills for every line item, and make sure they did it. Make sure there are not duplicates between the base invoice and any change orders. Make sure they do not try and collect the O&P on the items that were not done. In 2016 my wife and I stood in our front yard with our burnt house behind us and shook the hand of swindler. We were made false promises from day one and with a large company one would at least think you could have trust in. Took 4 weeks to get a permit that had the wrong name on it. Our roof was tore off during heavy rain season and not covered. The foreman quit so I had to be on site to supervise that crews were here or not. Everytime I issued out an isurance payment to the company I would not see them for a week and I was told they were working on a bigger project. Crews would leave mid day and not finish a project. My home was promised in 4 months and it took 9. Companies that materials were purchased from were not paid nor were the tradesmen. I would get calls harrassing me about their payment. I had a lien put on my home by one of the tradesmen because of non payment by PD. When my home was finally done, there were so many descrepencies it was sickening. I could never reach anyone in the office of the Lawrence branch. I have found the smaller companies will treat you better and do better work, honest work than big companies I also found to look on casenet to see if there are any pending litigation on certain companies before hiring. read more

I received a list of contractors from my insurance company to repair some interior work caused by a roof leak. Paul Davis was on that list and the company I ended up hiring to do the work. Jeff came out to look at the job and discuss what had to be done. He took the time to also walk around the house and answer some other questions about repairs not related to this one. He was honest and patient and took the time to let me know what we should and what we should not spend money on. The next group that came out to move furniture and discuss paint colors. Extremely professional, careful during removal and clean. Next came the project manager and the drywall/paint crews. They protected everything in my home and were extremely neat and clean during the whole process. Part of what they had to do was remove popcorn from the ceiling which is a messy job, but I had no clue they were even there when they were done. The most important part of this whole job to me was the fact that my wife and I were out of town during construction, leaving my mother at the house to care for my son. Everyone who stepped foot in my home was respectful and polite with my mother which I am so impressed by. At one point she was having problems with the stove and John took the time to take a look at it for here which he did not have to do. There were items I had requested information about and discussed with the crew while they were there, and when I cam home I was blown away at how awesome everything looked. Do not use this company! They scheduled my work 3 weeks out. Then started a day late and never ordered my carpet. It took their team an extra 4 days to finish the job and are now trying to charge me 2 grand on top of the quote. Unbelievable! On top of all this they scheduled a number of appointments which they blew off and I caught them using my broom and vacuum to clean up. read more

We contacted Paul Davis to give us a bid to restore our basement after a water issue. They came out quickly to give us the bid, but since then (4 weeks now) it has been absolutely impossible to get a hold of them or get them to return any calls or emails. My husband last emailed and called multiple times and it's been two weeks and we've heard nothing. If they won't return our calls then I would suspect they'll do an even worse job with the remodel. In case anyone is considering using their services, I'd absolutely discourage you from doing so. read more

Hopefully ending the saga of the overflowed 2nd floor toilet in our house, the last lag on this tour was Paul Davis Restorations. Our insurance agent (State Farm) said they were one of the pre-approved contractors who they would be able to contact and send out without needing any other approval. So initially to save time and hassle, we agreed to have Paul Davis Restorations come look at the damage to our first floor ceiling. First, they were prompt in getting ahold of me. We were able to arrange a visit fairly quickly. When the time came, the Paul Davis representative (Billy) came to our house with the contractor (Ben). They looked at the damage and gave us the lowdown on what would be needed to patch the ceiling. The work would also involve painting much of our great room walls. We set the arrangements for Ben to return the next day and start work. He started on Tuesday and by Friday evening, we had a fully repaired, newly blown ceiling with all painting completed and furniture ready to be moved back. Ben was timely, meticulous, efficient and a joy to work with. He worked with us on giving us access to areas of our kitchen that we needed after he had applied the blown spackling to the ceiling. He was also very good at cleaning up after the job was done. Billy had highly recommended him, and we clearly can see why. My wife and I are very, very pleased with the work that was done and the time it was completed. Our highest recommendation! read more

I had a small fire a number of years ago and had work done by PDR.. they were great to work with at the time.. Unfortunately once they were paid they didn't stand behind the work as promised by the Job Supervisor.. The outside of the house was repainted. I was very hands on through the process, I visited or was on site every day.. When they were painting I became concerned when they scraped and power washed only, to prep for paint.. The day they started painting I asked if it would be better to prime the bare wood.. I was told the paint had the primer in it.. Really?? fast forward 3 years and the paint is falling off in pieces, some up to a square foot. I call and request a visit to address it.. Very fast to show up, till they saw the problem.. had multiple PDR people say it needed to be done again. I was persistent and had no real cooperation.. I kept calling and eventually they sent a contractor out.. he looked and said it was obvious that it had indeed not been done right.. A couple weeks came and went with no plan for the work.. I kept calling and eventually got a call back saying they were not going to do anything about it.. the original job supervisor did not work there any more and PDR could not be held responsible for what he told me.. I would never use this PDR again, Jeff hung me out to dry on a $1650.00 paint job. I had to pay to fix their work.. read more
