This place is awesome! Best customer service with the new owner, great selection of beers on Draught and excellent food! Highly recommended. They offer a great variety of excellent food items on the menu and have great craft beers as well. We will be back more often than we thought. I really really love the Steve's Pizza chain. They have awesome cheesesticks, pizza, and pasta. I usually go to the one in Sacramento (the one in Truxel-Natomas was great), but tried the one in Davis since I was nearby. It was 45 minutes before closing when my group of 4 people stopped by. The restaurant still had ~5 tables full of people. The service was awful. The cashier was sighing very loudly while we took our time (30sec?) deciding what to order. We ordered a single large pizza. The pizza came in a timely manner, but everything else was horrible. The worker came by and pretty much threw the pizza on the table. It almost slid and bumped the condiments off the table too. He just walked off without saying anything. The pizza was undercooked and barely had any toppings on it! No plates were given to us either. We had to walk up to the counter and ask for plates. Ordered Steve's pizza today for a department event, must say i was pretty disappointed with the service. I had asked for the pizza's, salads, and waters to be delivered to the UC Davis campus at 12:45 pm, for an event that was set to begin at 1:10pm on the dot. 1pm comes around and nothing, no pizza guy, I call Steve's pizza asking where our delivery is and the person who answers responds they just left at 12:45pm to delivery your food. I immediately say well that's not good, because he needed to be here at 12:45pm to begin with... Well from there the pizza guy show's up at 1:05pm with everything but my water bottles and salad dressing's he indicates he's running down stairs to get them from his car. So I wait for about 10 minutes and nothing, not to mention that by now my event has started and people are waiting around for the rest of the items. I finally call Steve's Pizza asking them what happened to their delivery person he was supposed get the rest of my order from his car and never returned and here we are 20 minutes into our meeting and still missing half of my order. Turned out the guy drove back to Steve's pizza without even mentioning that he would be back... All in all my order was 45 minutes late from the expected time of delivery, and the order was place that morning at 9:30am with an expected delivery time of 12:45pm. I will most likely stick with Cenarios pizza, at least they aren't a rip off and will show up on time.... And they still have the nerve to charge me the delivery fee, for their crappy service/delivery.... read more

I don't write yelp reviews unless I really love something or am disappointed... so here we go. I ordered the chicken tenders and a personal size pizza 3 topping pizza. I use the term "tender" loosely because it was more like nuggets. It definitely wasn't worth the price and to top it off they gave me the wrong sauce (I had it delivered so it was too late). The pizza was dry, it seemed like it wasn't fresh at all with leftover ingredients. I like to give restaurants the benefit of the doubt but it just seemed my order was poorly put together and the quality was average at best. Woodstock is definitely better to me and I doubt I'll order something from here again. read more

I like the pizza here and it's a cool place to come to just hang out with friends or to even hold a club meeting. I don't think it's any extraordinary, although they do have some pretty special pizzas, like the Californian (includes olives, various cheeses, artichokes, pesto, and chicken). Prices can run a bit high, so it's best to come here with a group and just share a pizza rather than ordering your own stuff. They also have some non-pizza dishes that I've never ordered, but from what I've heard, they're good. I would give this place more stars if their prices were a bit lower and if service were a bit better (it can get really slow). But all in all, it's a cool place to visit. read more

Steve's used to be a great place for pizza. I ordered a thin crust margherita for delivery. Delivery was right on time however the pizza was overcooked and burnt two inches around the edge! The toppings for this pizza are a good blend but it was ruined by the dark and dry third around the edges. Not a good buy for $30 plus generous tip. You'd think that when the employee or the owner sees something like this they'd make a redo or adjust their oven temps for what they cook! A quick call to me to let me know it would be a later delivery and why goes really far and can only be appreciated. Customer service people!! So sorry to see this place go downhill. read more

So anyways, my boyfriend and I ordered the spaghetti and meatball, which comes with garlic bread ($7.99) and a chicken and broccoli alfredo ($8.59). The spaghetti and meatball was soo filling! It comes with 3 huge meatballs and in my opinion, it can serve 2 people just fine! It also comes with garlic bread which wasn't garlic enough in my opinion and quite soggy. Other than that, with that price, it's a great ass deal. Now, for the chicken and broccoli alfredo, they really skimped out on the chicken. Food is great! We love the salad bar, cheesy breadsticks and the pizza - the sauce is so good! I came in at about 845/9pm which was an hour before closing with a group of 10 people for my birthday. We wanted to sit on the patio as we had our dog with us. The back patio was closed as it looked like they were pressure washing or something. The front patio had another group of about 8 people. We were told before we sat down that the patio would be closing in 20 minutes, even though they were open for another hour. Literally at 10pm on the dot, an employee came out and told us the patio was now closed a fee had to go (even though we still had food on the table). My review is due to the "bad business practice". I received a gift certificate for my son last December(2017) and went in with it in June and was told they no longer redeem those. Now someone made money on the gift certificate for one and to tell me they are not honoring it is not good business. The owner himself rejected it, he could have at least said but i'll give you a discount not the full value of the gift certificate but no offer or apologies. If I could give a negative review I would! The salad bar had a ton of wilted lettuce, the baby corn tasted like they weren't rinsed properly, broccoli was wilted and the cheese tasted bad. Definitely not a good start and a waste of money. When we got our combo pizza there was red bell pepper that had visible mold on it and the pizza overall was not what we are used to. We have been to this restaurant before and am very disappointed At the downhill decline in quality of their food. When spending $60 for a dinner out I expect more. Lunch Special me. If you're really hungry, the Breadsticks/Salad/Soda and Pizza/Salad/Soda lunch specials (both around $8) might be the best deals in town considering the amount of food you get. If I order the breadsticks special, I usually have to take some of them home. The salad bar is nothing to rave about, but the croutons are awesome. I recommend making a large crater in the middle of your salad to hold plenty of croutons later. I prefer the pizza to Woodstocks, and the bread sticks are excellent. ESPN is usually on in the back room, so Steve's usually makes me a happy guy. read more

Great pizza, spotty service. My favorite is their Greek Gourmet pizza. It's always piled so high with toppings (spinach, tomatoes, feta, pepperoncinis, and olives) that I can barely see the cheese beneath! They put a good amount of marinara sauce on the thick crust as well. Be sure to try the cheesy breadsticks too! It's a large pizza crust topped with a thick layer of mozzarella cheese, served with marinara sauce or ranch for dunking. As for the service, I've ordered with the same hostess twice in a row, and she's had difficulty getting my order right both times. Last night, I repeated myself twice that I wanted the pizza without mushrooms, and she punched in "extra mushrooms" instead--and charged me for added ingredients! But the kitchen staff was very nice when I sent the pizza back: they offered me a free trip to the salad bar and had the correct pizza at my table within 10 min, plus they returned the extra money I was charged. read more

This is one of my favorite pizza places in Davis. It is a great place for a bite and to relax with some good company. I love the veggie pizzas here and the outdoor patio area. This is one of your traditional pizza places, with a lot of options for food. Of course you got your pizza, with are all pretty darn good with relatively fresh ingredients. They even have pasta, sliders, wings, and of course cheese bread. I personally have never had any of those except the pizza, which is what i assume you are here for too. So, lets get down to it! I normally order off the Pizza Favorites menu and the prices are as follows: 7.49 for 8", 12.69 for 10", 17.49 for 12", 21.25 for 14", and finally 24.49 for 16". My favorites are the greek gourmet and the vegetarian pizzas. The greek pizza has fresh spinach, pepperoncinis, red onions, black olives, feta cheese, roma tomatoes, oregano, and a basil pesto sauce. The flavors are just great with this pizza you can really taste each ingredient and everything blends well together. My favorite ingredient are the tomatoes, i am just a sucker for fresh tomatoes on a pizza. Thats probably why i like the vegetarian pizza so much too. Alright, lets talk about the environment. I have never sat inside, and I really don't plan too. It feels like a round table pizza, kind of an old pizzeria feeling. I always stake a claim on a spot at the outdoor patio in front of the restaurant. It feels great out there, like i'm chilling in a woodsy backyard patio. This is the perfect place to just kick back and relax with some friends. I love coming here for pizza before a night out in Davis. They have a salad bar as well which is always fresh and has a great selection. Huge restaurant, great for groups and events, Steve's is always willing to accomodate. I think I have eaten in house once or twice, but typically just get delivery. Cons: Its weird.....I just don't like their pizza. I have tried it twice, I just don't like the way they cook it. Pros: When I ate inside, they have a really nice salad bar, good quality for any type restaurant, let alone a pizza place. I enjoy their pastas....I either order their spaghetti and meatballs or their alfredo. Garlic cheese bread appetizer is good as well. Their delivery times are well within the time they give you. Steve's isn't Pizzeria Mozza status, but it's a classic Davis restaurant that always deserves a visit. I really don't get much other than the cheesy breadsticks, because I can never not get them and then after eating (all of) them I'm full. So I would always recommend at least trying their original cheesy breadsticks. Turns out that they now have an herb version of them, but I had those the other day and although I'm a big fan of oregano and basil, at times it felt like I was eating a garden. But you can never go wrong with the original cheesy breadsticks, and always ask for both the ranch and the marinara sauce, with 'ends on'! Didn't have the pizza but overall this seems to me like a very 3-star place. The burger and potato salad I had was good but not great. Less expensive than the slightly better burgers at the Grad and both are blown out by the consistently pretty good Burgers & Brew. Fun spot but by no means my favorite meal in Davis.
