As Wine Rack is kept spotlessly clean, totally orderly, has a good wine selection and a most pleasant staff, I'm a fan.

On this visit, I was returning home from the wedding of a younger colleague in Central New Jersey. The store is located on US 13, about an hour north of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel. This part of US 13 is a peaceful and historic drive in either direction through Virginia's Eastern Shore. My first order of business was to park and head for the restrooms. Parking is available on either side of the nostalgic Stuckey's building, with the gas pumps directly in front. The restrooms were clean and very well maintained. Inside, there are aisles and aisles of souvenirs and great snacks--including the famous Stuckey's pecan log rolls--as well as the Southern Grille. I purchased several pecan log rolls and a bunch of souvenirs. The woman at the cash register was very helpful and carefully packed everything for my trip home. Stopping here is like stepping back into the golden age of the American road trip. One of these times, I am finally going to order something from the Southern Grille!

In my opinion, this is the best Mexican food on the island and honestly some of the best I've had on the East Coast. A shoutout to Woody's next door too--the setup with the games, hammocks, and outdoor space made it such a fun place to hang out while everyone ate.
