I ended up calling and placing my order. When I arrived there was a huge line and one person taking orders and answering the phone. Some people left because of the long line. At some point one of the people making the food stepped out and started helping with getting the orders out. I ordered the jerk chicken salad and an order from fries. The salad was a decent size. The chicken was sliced with the jerk chicken sauce. I wish the lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers were chopped up a little more. It felt like I was eating big chunks of lettuce. Ive had the opportunity to see this location grow from a small storefront to an extended corner lot. The staff is very helpful and friendly as usual. Always patient with my indecisive family. Our house favorites are the eggrolls. They now offer a salmon eggroll that is very delicious. The chicken and Philly eggroll have won my family over. I'm so mad that I did not find Steve's bite when I first got into the area. Only complaint is that the space is a small store front with only 4 tables. However they rotated people thru pretty efficiently. Was guided by the friendly counter attendant to get the Italian beef and she was 100% on the money. It had a great flavor and had a good level of spice. Only took about 5 minutes to get my order and they were pretty busy. Oh ya my fries were hot and crispy, just how they are supposed to be. Great sandwiches and meals in a small mostly-takeout place with seating for ten or twelve. We walked along Cermak from our hotel, our first night in town, just for an easy-to-find meal. They were friendly and attentive as we chose from the menu over the counter. I wanted my first meal to be Italian Beef, and theirs is flavorful and juicy, made the way you ask, so i got it "wet" with extra juice on the side, with sautéed sweet green peppers, delicious, with a side of piping hot crispy fries. We also had the huge serving of perfectly tender sweet salmon at a reasonable price. We ate in, while most customers seem to come for takeout, and we each had enough leftovers for another meal. Cermak is dark along here in the evening, but it felt busy enough and safe. This is good food at Cermak and Michigan, convenient to hotels and to the McCormick West building, and it's walkable from the Cermak-Chinatown stop on the Red Line. read more

They gave her ranch dressing and my wife hates ranch dressing. They didn't have a choice of dressings. 7/10 for the salad. The Salmon Rice bowl wasn't really a rice bowl. It was some flavorful rice & salmon with a garden salad( that they did dress with oil, lemon & oregano. The salmon was kinda dry. The dish was very basic, straight up and down no special effects. 4.7/10 The Buffalo Chicken Egg-rolls were decent. Nice Buffalo sauce flavor and the size was on point. They gave us ranch & marinara sauce for dipping sauces. Blue cheese would've been better. All in all they were pretty good. 7.3/10 Now the Gyro Egg-rolls the reason for the visit. Let me tell you these things are fire!!! Filled with Gyro meat, cheese, tomatoes & onions. They give you a side of tzatziki sauce for dipping. They taste like a mini gyro! Well the forgot the mild sauce for the chicken. Since I was getting this hungry people while waiting at an ER I decided to call and inform them. The number doesn't work. So we were forced to eat the chicken w/o the sauce. The chicken was dry. And even though it was seasoned it just was tasty. I will NEVER again put my hard earned money into this place. I ordered lunch for the office, the pregnant co-worker's lunch was not in the bag. I phoned back and was in a full fledge back and forth with the front counter lady, telling me she pack the bag herself...she knows she put that order in the bag. Mid sentence she says Oh, it's right here and that i can come back and get it. I told her I paid for it and had already been there(mind you, they deliver) I told her I used my lunch break to pick up the first order. They said NO!!! they couldn't bring it to us. SOLID GRUB Our company is working on The Lex, this place has been a staple in our lunch rounds. Great selection of meals without having TOO much to choose from. I've had the Philly a couple times and the Chicken Tender Basket. Can't go wrong with either I think. Everything comes out hotter than hell so ya gotta have a wee bit of patience or risk the complete conflagration of your food hole. Love the cleanliness of the place, super friendly service too. My first time trying this place. I didn't think much of it due to it's location....Sooo glad I ordered the cheeseburger which turned out to be the best in the area. The meat was fresh, steak house quality. In fact, I have had burgers from top rated steak houses that weren't as good as this spot. I'm on a diet and treated myself tonight. That burger was everything! It was huge, juicy(not over cooked). The sauce was so good and the bun was fresh and complimented the burger....the best! I was pleasantly surprised.
