I made the mistake of having Steve Williams Roofing replace my roof last December while I was out of town. The roof had developed a bad leak and they were the only ones who said they could start right away by coming over in the gaps between their other jobs. I would never do this again.
The back half of the roof was left uncovered and got totally soaked during a rainstorm. They didn't even tarp it when left overnight in December with a storm coming. I received a picture from my tenants at 3:30am of water dribbling down from a light fixture. The attics crawl spaces were drenched on the back half.
The roofer first denied that the roof had been left uncovered until confronted with witnesses, then tried to claim that the leak had gotten everything this wet. I pointed out the fact that the attics was totally soaked even on the parts that hadn't been leaking. There had been a tarp on the roof over the area that leaked which they took off, took the shingles off, and then left it open to get soaked.
I had to spend weeks getting that mess dried out. I put heaters and fans in the attics, Steve Williams did bring over a few small heaters to add to mine. There were 4 attic areas to dry out, I had to climb around moving insulation away from the wet areas so they could dry, keeping an eye out for any mold issues, moving the fans and heaters around today evenly. Steve Williams continued to deny responsibility, the only help I received from him was a few heaters, no help with the labor, no help with the electric bills from all the additional heaters and fans, nothing.
I would never use them again. read more
