My husband and I recently had our roof replaced. We were originally planning to go with a roofing company, but I'm so glad we decided to use Keith Green Construction instead. We had not planned to have any additional work done, but, upon inspection, their estimator (Ryan) recognized that our attic was improperly ventilated. We ended up having KGC add more ventilation when they replaced the roof. For the five years that we have lived in our home, we have had to endure uncomfortably high humidity levels in our bedroom. A few years back, we purchased a dehumidifier for the room and on bad days it would pull close to a gallon of moisture out of the air. I did not think there was a solution until Ryan explained that our attic had insufficient ventilation. I'm so thankful for his expertise. There has been a DRASTIC difference since getting the roof done. We can sleep comfortably and no longer have to use a dehumidifier. Not only did the added vents improve the health of our attic, it improved our quality of sleep. The crew was professional, they sent daily progress photos to show what they had accomplished, and Keith personally came out to check on the progress and quality of work. We had Ryan and his crew come out for a roof repair and ended up needing a whole new roof . They found black mold in our attic,..our son had a chronic cough before this was fixed and now is not coughing at all. I really appreciated the daily communication through email with photos since I was not about to climb on the roof daily to see what they had done. I highly recommend this company. Fail. Ryan the estimator came out to give me a quote on my flat mid century modern roof. He had the logo truck, the tucked in logo polo shirt with the leather belt, and the cologne. He gave me a stapled paperwork "reference packet" with pictures and references. I am a female business owner, and a designer. I both told him what I was wanting, and showed him images. I asked questions of him that I already knew the answers to- like the differences between TPO, PVC, and EPDM materials. I asked him about repair vs. replacement. He MANSPLAINED to me like a pro. I asked him about my drain locations and increasing the drain pipe size which he couldn't answer any of my questions. I got "Yeah... I mean if it's not leaking, I would leave it, these roofs are pretty expensive." COOL STORY BRO. I showed him pics of metal roofing I wanted for the pitched parts of my roof and he said "Oh... now that's gotten REALLY expensive." I asked him about the difference between the painted version and the black steel version, which is what I want. He offered no expertise from what I could tell, and trust me, I've done my homework. Never ever got a quote. I'll take my money and my business elsewhere. F- read more

I didn't have work done as the estimator wanted $1800.00 to write up an estimate for the cost to rebuild/reconstruct my home after water damage. I thought that was odd, and a lot of money for an estimate. Disappointed. read more

Keith and his folks have taken very good care of my family and our over-100-year-old house over the past several years. I have always been impressed with the accuracy of the bidding for the work, willingness to discuss options (materials, approach to a project, etc.), and just plain good craftsmanship and dedication to detail. If you own an old house, you know that when you pull something up to work on it, that you're always running the risk that you've now created a second project. I have seen the KGC carpenters find some very odd features in the depths and recesses of this house, and while some of it has made them shake their heads, it's never seemed to put them off. They always pull back, discuss it with one another, and then come up with a fix that at the very least will address the new problem they've found, and at best, will actually improve it. Over the years, I am convinced that my house is healthier and more solid because of this approach. We recently asked KGC to install a door between our Great Hall and my son's bedroom, and also to install a pull-down stair into our attic. Both projects were done in under a day and a half, look great, and are solid and dependable. The door into my son's room, in particular, just came out great. Stained to a medium oak now, the door and trim just fit so harmoniously into both rooms. Barring a change in ownership, I don't intend to look anywhere else for contracting work on our house in the future. We've always received good value for money, excellent customer service, and top-quality craftsmen when we've called KGC. They're worth every star of my rating. read more

These are fouled mouth construction workers that I don't appreciate around my family. The foreman was rude and cussed at his workers on several occasions because they weren't working fast enough and it was "f-ing costing him money". Would never recommend or have these people near my family or friends ever!!! read more

I had a dishwasher leak and needed to replace my underlayment. So I found this business on a craigslist and emailed them photo of my problem. Keith send me a quote like: Labor $55.00 per man hour Materials Cost plus 25% Trip Fee $55.00 per day It was fine with me so I asked him to send his contractor next day at 8:45am. Next day Keith called me at 8:45 and asked my address. He forgot to ask for it before sending his man over. I could live in Alaska. Luckily my husband hadn't left for work yet so I asked him to take our son to classes while I am waiting. So the guy came only at 9:30am. Replaced underlayment leaving huge gaps between boards. Said we need to use a putty there. He spent 15 minutes tiding things up after and left at 2:30pm. This is why I gave them one star. No garbage was left on site. So total he spent 4.5 hour doing the work and 0.5 it took him to go to HD for materials. 3 days later I received an invoice for 6.25 hours of man-labor. When I pointed out that trip fee is already $55 and driving car can't count as a labor they sent me an email saying that "Oregon law requires that our employees are paid from the time they start at our shop until they return to our shop which includes the time to dispose of all debris at the landfill, so your billing for 6.25 hours is accurate based on our time and materials billing". I always thought it is their problem how they pay their employee. Mind you that according to google maps it is only 17 minutes trip between their shop and my house and 6 minutes trip between their shop and the nearest landfill. And if they charge trip time I don't know why they have separate trip fee. So don't hire this company. Their business practice is lousy. Their workers are not very skilled. And they will send you invoice for everything they can think of. read more

I had KGC replace my roof last April. Before having the work done Keith came to my house and gave me a very thorough estimate with many material options to pick from. Durning the process of replacement several areas of dry-rot were discovered but because of his background in construction and his skilled carpenters that employs they were able to take care of it on the spot and do it right (I know for a fact corners weren't being cut because I was that annoying customer on the roof with the crew seeing what was being done). Everyday durning the project I would receive daily emails with pictures and explanations of the progress. The communication through the process was superb. I'm not sure you'll find another roofing company putting in this effort but for the average person this is a great benefit because you know for a fact what you are getting from KGC. Finally, because of all the documenting that KGC did I was able to file a dry rot claim with my insurance company with out much effort. I just forwarded all the data I was given and a week later I had a check in hand from my home owners insurance company. I would gladly recommend his services to anyone looking for a reputable roofer in the area. read more

Keith and his crew did a superb job re-roofing our composite roof. They kept a clean job site, had a port-a-potty, explained things in language I could understand, (I'm not a roofer by trade), used top-of-the-line materials, and were respectful at all times. A bit more expensive than others, but worth it. Highly recommend. read more
