replaced all 3 windows in my master. My estimate staff brainstormed with me to replace the middle window to a gallery window to save cost.

I purchased a 2000 condo and realized they used the lowest grade windows, and 6 of them are in desperate need to be replaced. I called Clear Choice Window and they did a great job from beginning to end. From estimating the cost (trying to fit as many windows into my budget), taking detailed measuring and installing the windows, everyone was professional, friendly and helpful. During the installation, I gave them full access to my place while I was at work. The guys took care of everything and I was relief when I returned for expectation. Not only I ended up with beautiful new windows, the house remain clean and untouched! Only minor complaint I have, is that I had to call a few times to make sure my appointment was on track, but it's no deal because I want to get it done before I can repaint my house. Also I knew they are very busy during the summer. Overall, I have a great experience with those guys and would recommend them to anyone I know/care.

Josh and staff were very professional up front and honest with window brands and quality of various products. I was really concerned about spending a lot for subpar quality and Josh was very patient to answer my questions and provide sound insight to various brands and their features. Ended up going with Milgard and I am very happy. A couple months in and the condo is at least twice as warm and half the cost to heat. No complaints about the product or installation. I think we got the best warranty and product for the money I was able to spend. Would definitely chose clear choice again if we sell and need windows again elsewhere.

Everything went well until installation. A few adjustments later and the gaps were closed. Competitive pricing but not the lowest

Realizing I wanted to replace all the windows and patio doors, I delayed a year and contacted Frank when I was ready. First of all, Frank is a joy to work with. He was always communicative, prompt and friendly. He offered for us to come out to the showroom and see the windows and doors in person. I went with the Milgard Trinsic Windows and Doors. Second, the install team was excellent. Every day, they arrived on time and hit the ground running. Having a number of contractors for projects over the past 5 years, this team has been the best. I moved out of the house during the project, but I stopped by daily and everything was always cleaned up and in order. Third, I really appreciated the effort and thoroughness on the last day of cleaning the exterior and especially the interior of the house. The team takes great pride in their work and you can tell that is 100% employee owned. If I had to say there was a down side, its you may be in for a wait when placing your order because their work is in high demand (the first year quote, I would have had to wait 4-5 months). Finally, the windows and doors are beautiful. What a difference this made in regards to temperature, sound, and clarity. Not to mention, the ease at using the doors and the contemporary narrow frame modernized our home. We could not be happier.

They are energy efficient and let in so much light!

The company was stumped by the construction of the door and said they couldn't figure out a way to replace it. I was told this same story by several other companies, until I found Anderson Door & Window Mechanics. I was impressed by their professionalism, communication, and pride in getting the job done. I feel the price I paid was fair for the work that was done, and I'm very happy with the finished product. I would definitely recommend them or use them again myself for future projects! :)

Anthony, in…read moreadmin, was perfectly decent to deal with, though I was shocked at being asked for $350 simply to develop a cost estimate on a simple, one-window replacement. Encouraged by the solid reviews here on Yelp, however, I agreed to the earliest inspection time, which was about a month out. The person who completed the inspection was also perfectly decent, looked at the job site for around half an hour and dropped the cost of the price estimate to $250. I saw this sum as worthwhile based on the assumption that I would receive a fair and reasonable quote on what would turn out to be good work. Not so much. I was quoted an estimate of around $7500 to replace one 6' x 2' window and some slightly rotted framing. This not a credible or fair-minded amount based on the materials and work and I can only presume they didn't really want the work. Based on this experience, I pretty much feel scammed into paying the upfront cost estimate and would highly recommend avoiding this company, particularly for minor window work.

This was a "discounted" price but we've been very happy with them since. I even gave them a 5-star review post installation. The quality of their product and the skill of their crew couldn't have been better. We were told at the time of the sale in January of the same year, "iyou ever need repair, adjustment or replacements of our windows, screens or sliders for as long as we owned our home to just call." We even have that promise in writing. Jump ahead to early this year. We have an issue with the downstairs slider. It has stopped being easy to open so I called RBA to please call me as I explained the problem on their voicemail system. As of this date, I have not received any callbacks. I even tried prompting them with the the possibility of me writing a review/complaint on Yelp and posting it on Facebook. Crickets. Still no call after almost two months. Last year, I told my brother-in-law to use RBA for their new replacement widows which he has since ordered yet to be installed. You would think they would put 1+1 together and give me a call. Nope!

Former RbA Employee: Look Beyond the Polished Sales Pitch…read more I'm a former RbA Portland employee who worked as a Design Consultant selling RbA projects to homeowners in their homes. I'm writing because homeowners and job seekers deserve to understand what I experienced behind the company's polished public image. I came away with serious concerns about the sales culture, customer experience, and how the company manages its online reputation. The sales process I was trained on was heavily focused on closing during the initial appointment. Failing to close was treated as a lost opportunity, with little or no follow up. Customers were presented with urgency around same-day discounts and encouraged toward expensive product options. For a purchase that can cost tens of thousands of dollars, get multiple independent bids and give yourself time to think. I also wish more homeowners knew that RbA isn't the only way to purchase Andersen-made windows. Andersen products are available through independent dealers and qualified contractors. Compare those options before assuming RbA is your only choice. Early in my experience, leadership asked whether I had received my first angry customer calls yet. I was told these calls were simply part of the job, that experienced salespeople ignore them and that an overseas team handled angry customers so sales can focus strictly on selling. I subsequently encountered customers dealing with project complications and unexpected costs. Ask before signing what happens when unexpected conditions arise, what the contract covers, what the warranty covers, and who pays for additional work not included in initial contract scope. I would also question whether a branded installation process is automatically superior to every qualified independent contractor. Ask what is actually proprietary, who performs the installation, what qualifications they have, and what the warranty covers. My most serious concern involved Google reviews. I was encouraged by RbA leadership to solicit positive Google reviews from people who were not necessarily customers. I was specifically told I could ask essentially anyone including family, friends, and even my 'mail carrier' to leave an RbA Google review, provided they agreed to give five stars. I am not claiming every positive RbA review is fake. I'm stating what I personally experienced and was instructed to do. When non-customers are encouraged to post 5 star Google reviews, those ratings affect the overall score and make genuine customer experiences very hard to distinguish. That raised serious concerns for me about whether the public five-star rating accurately reflects customer experience. For prospective employees: Ask about same-day closing expectations, quotas, turnover, unhappy customers, and the substantial gas and equipment expenses employees pay out of pocket. Also ask how often reps are sent to appointments that have already cancelled or are otherwise unqualified, wasting significant time and personal expense. If possible, speak with current and ideally former employees before accepting the job. There are some good people working at RbA Portland, and the product may be appropriate for some homeowners. But based on what I experienced, I would not endorse the sales model and would never hire RbA for my own home. The polished branding doesn't necessarily tell you what happens behind the scenes. The sales presentation, customer experience, and reputation-management practices can look very different once the contract is signed and the project begins. Finally, don't assume the premium means better value. In my research, comparable Andersen Fibrex products with similar specifications and installation scope could potentially cost substantially less through qualified independent contractors. In the comparisons I reviewed, the difference was 30-66%, enough to convince me the RbA premium needs scrutiny. Important Distinction: Andersen Windows & Doors (orange logo) is the established manufacturer with more than a century of history based in MN. Renewal by Andersen (green logo) is a separate replacement-window business within the Andersen organization. Key: RbA also operates through independently owned affiliates. The Portland RbA is an independently owned affiliate, they are not Andersen Windows & Doors and they are not RbA Corporate. Yet it still operates under the RbA name and benefits from the recognition and reputation of the Andersen brand using the vague term 'affiliate.' That distinction matters when a project goes wrong. A homeowner who contracts with a local RbA affiliate is dealing with that local business, not directly with Andersen Windows & Doors or RbA Corporate. Understanding exactly which entity you're contracting with, and who is responsible when problems arise, is important before signing. Andersen, RbA Corporate, and a local RbA affiliate are not the same entities. Know who you're working with.
