Steve White worked on my truck years ago and for some reason they put in a toggle switch I didn't need because they said they couldn't get the part I needed. Well I used that toggle switch for years. I went to Steve White's at the end of Sept. and again said they couldn't get the part and they don't make them anymore, my truck is a 2007. I was devastated. My mobile mechanic took off the toggle switch now I can use my single lights, windows and brake lights. My mobile mechanic save the day. read more

I took my truck to this shop to get it running and Rick quoted me $458 to get it on the road but then changed to $558 and then to $1040. I gave $500 deposit to cover the initial cost of $458 which i thought was reasonable. Long story short they took my truck apart and put the parts in the bed of my truck and did not replace the parts nor fixed the truck. My choice from the shop was to pay another $1100 or take it home so I had it taken home but the parts were still in the bed of the truck. I have no engine nor motor and the truck was delivered in my driveway askew and is there as i write this. There is more to this story and I have pictures to show and more to tell such as the owner cursing me in front of a woman and her child who seemed to be about 5 or 6 years old. Such immaturity and unprofessional ownership. Stay away from this place. read more

Crooks! I would give Zero stars if I could but forced to give a star but that is better than being Forced to pay for my car being kept from us and not released to my daughter. From 11pm-10:30am she was given the run around about a vehicle we both own! First she was told I needed to get the vehicle though both of us are on the title and registration at 11pm at night, then she was told that she couldn't get it at all. After I call that morning they try to play dumb and then then they decided to release our car THAT THEY DAMAGED! As she has a low profile car and they put it on a dolly instead! Then CHARGED HER ALMOST $300 just to get her car and it HAD TO BE CASH ONLY! When I asked about this (because they treated my daughter like she was just a young girl they could take advantage of) they stated that it was "regulated by the state that they can charge for two days as calander" though she was trying to get her car that night and denied until the morning for not even 12 hours. After asking Rick if I could speak to the owner I was told that "the owner retired and he handled matters" I then stated I would be contacting the BBB at this point Rick apparently found this amused and laughed, so I will make sure I contact the city as well as other forums to warn others of these thieves! read more

Yesterday I had the good fortune to pull into Steve White's Auto Service to request an estimate for a dent in hood of my car, and for help with the door handles and some other issues I'd recently discovered. (The business I'd called before said they couldn't even provide me the estimate I required until the following month!) As a female, we can sometimes be taken advantage of when it comes to our vehicles, but this was definitely not the case at Steve White's Auto! The men who assisted me were generous with their time and expertise, were honest, helpful, gave me a necessary referral, made a few adjustments to my car that made a big difference to me, and surprisingly the help they quickly provided was done gratis! This is an honorable business, it is my pleasure to give them an excellent review, I feel I can trust them for future work, and I am so grateful to have found them! What a blessing! read more

Towed from SR 64 to Palmetto cost $25 gave me a quote on repair OUTRAGEOUS price for things that needed to be removed for repair. Didn't need to be complete LIE! Refused them to do work and requested tow 2 miles to my home 50 some dollars just for tow and his "diagnostic" repair. $170 later. Would not recomed! Complete rip off and feel taken advantage of. read more

My wife's car was towed by Steve Whites Auto service six days ago. We got back to Florida today and called them. They said bring 405.60 cash to retrieve car. It was ten til 5:00 and they said they are closing. GPS gave us an arrival time of 5:08 and he agreed to wait after some reluctance. We got there a 5:08 hour handed them 406.00 cash and they demanded an additional $36 more because we were late and they closed at five. My wife started her way across the street to the Amscot ATM. I said wow to Mr. White, my wife and I both are 100 percent disabled veterans and can't get a break? He got mad and slammed the garage and told the other employees to leave and they left. I asked him what about our car and he said you ain't getting it today because you had to go running your mouth. I told him all I said was that we were veterans and he said that's what I mean...running your mouth. He then jumped into his tow truck and left us standing at the front door of the business. I served 25 years and my wife served 27 years. I have never been treated like that before. Some folks call them haters and some call them racists. If my wife had blonde hair and blue eyes we would be driving our car now. Very disappointed and disrespected. I guess this is how you make America great again. read more

Excellent in every way. My car's engine was producing a chirp and I knew I needed to have my belt checked. As a woman in an unfamiliar area, I was very ambivalent about going to a new car repair shop. I researched shops on Yelp and found Steve White's Auto Service, which has 50 excellent reviews and right up the street from my new employer in Palmetto. What a fantastic experience. Rick is the customer service rock star who insisted on coming to pick me up and driving me back to work, and when it was time to pick up my vehicle, he was waiting for me at my work entrance, which by the way was before noon, same day service. MIND BLOWN!!! Steve popped his head into the shop long enough to recommend my brakes would need servicing soon. No pressure... just genuine concern and friendliness. I've found a new mechanic. Excellent customer service. Rick was very quick and very professional when fixing my flat tire.

They were excellent to me. I had a small rock that had managed to find is way into my A/C coil causing it to leak. The price they charged me was reasonable, and they showed me where the leak was and the damage that was done BEFORE doing anything to the car. A lot of shops won't do that and expect you to take their word for it. Steve the owner is there most days, he is very friendly and honest. I'll do business with them again. read more

My car was towed to a to a different repair shop and was told by them they could not even look at my car until next week. I called Steve Whites spoke to Rick he said he could go and get my car and have it done that day. Within 5 hours they had installed a new starter (very reasonable cost) and I had my car back.
