1 Star -- Overcharging! Inactive Towing License!…read more intimidation, and extremely unprofessional behavior Filed complaints to NYC311 and Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP)! My vehicle was towed from a private parking lot in Queens. The posted sign clearly stated a $125 + tax release fee, yet Jay's Towing initially demanded $250 CASH. After a lengthy confrontation, they eventually accepted $200 cash. The worst part wasn't even the money. The supervisor was extremely aggressive and disrespectful. During the confrontation, I felt physically threatened when they drove a vehicle toward me when we tried to confront and challenge them with the law and regulations, and staff showed me their middle fingers. We called the police, but they did not arrive before the situation was resolved. I have photos of the posted towing fees and documentation of what happened. I filed a formal complaint with NYC Consumer and Worker Protection regarding the charges and conduct and multiple charges against this business. There is absolutely no excuse for treating people this way. Run your business professionally and treat others with basic respect. See below NYC Tow Truck Complaint link, if you had been or have been illegally overcharged: Let's bring down this business. https://portal.311.nyc.gov/article/?kanumber=KA-02149 Updates The DCWP representative literally told on the phone that they are building a case against them but they need more people to report it so they have enough evidence in court.
