This towing company is participating the what's known as a "Valet Trap" which is against NJ law…read more AJ's towing and recovery are violating NJ's Predatory towing prevention act. The restaurant Little Tijuana's (358 market street) employees are valeting customers cars in the capital one bank across the street (357 market street) which they are legally not permitted to do. Bank management has confirmed this. AJ's towing and recovery also confirmed they know Little Tijuana's uses it for valet, but they tow the cars anyway. Little Tijuana's puts a valet sign/box at the entrance along with staff misleading customers. If AJ's towing is aware of predatory towing laws and is aware this restaurant is misleading customers, they are just as much as fault. AJ's towing also charges unreasonable and excessive fees, demands cash only as the only form of payment, and does not provide an itemized receipt showing proof of any fees including hook fee, boot fee, time of tow, mileage and storage. They demanded over $600 cash with no itemized receipt. This is most certainly fraud on multiple levels, and the city needs to do something about this immediately how much money are they making from this and what about the customers that are being misled and taking advantage of. AJ's towing is also under investigation for towing over 40 cars from the Prudential center that were directed to a lot and paid to park in it. My guess is this company had people directing cars to a lot that they were not legally contracted with and then AJ's towing comes in and tows cars. Drivers stated they saw the tow truck across the street as they were pulling in. Lets get this company fined and shut down. If this happens to you, file a police report, call the auto squad 973-733-5616, file complaints with consumer affairs and the better business bureu, write the mayor and leave reviews.

We had NO choice as it was night time, we were now late to start the job, and had two of our contractors waiting for the van and it's belongings. We paid $500. cash, and one of the contractors had to Venmo the other $500. WE BASICALLY GOT ROBBED! Only reason we didnt call the police is that it was our mistake for not asking how much the tow would cost ahead of time. So, this guy just saw our desperation and completely took advantage of the situation. NOT sure that Adams Towing even knows about this? Tow truck driver may have even been the owner, not sure... I had scheduled an appointment with another mobile mechanic service provider who did not show or respond to any messages. In a panic (because my car was completely dead and parked in front of a fire hydrant!), I Google searched while sitting in my car and contacted Neighborhood Roadside Assistance. The dispatcher there consulted with her team and said they could have someone out within the hour. About 10 minutes later, I received a call from their mechanic, Mitch, who said he was coming from New Jersey and should be there in 35-40 minutes. Once Mitch arrived, he saw that one of my battery terminals was badly corroded and asked if I knew of a parts store nearby. I did not, so he Googled some locations and we drove around to two different shops trying to get a replacement part! Unfortunately we could not find the right part locally, so he replaced the battery with the existing part but offered to pick one up in New Jersey and come back to replace it! Without any provocation, this individual verbally assaulted me and then attempted to ram my vehicle. The situation escalated further when he deliberately positioned his tow truck in front of my car, using it to intimidate and threaten me. He proceeded to move the tow platform toward my vehicle in a manner that strongly suggested an intent to strike it. The entire encounter was alarming and left me shaken. At no point was his behavior justified or appropriate. I remain uncertain as to his exact intentions, whether he intended to damage my vehicle, force entry, or otherwise harm me, but his actions were aggressive, erratic, and posed a clear safety risk. This incident occurred in the CVS parking lot located at 375 Queen Anne Road in Teaneck. Conduct of this nature is completely unacceptable, particularly from someone entrusted with operating a large commercial vehicle on public streets.
