They were great about responding, showing up in under an hour, and towing our van directly to the work site which was approx. a 45 minute tow. That is when the experience went sour. The driver demanded payment of $1,500. CASH. He would not unhook the van until paid. After we haggled and argued for 20-30 minutes, one push of the "dial" away from calling 911, he agreed to drop the fee to $1,000 CASH. We had NO choice as it was night time, we were now late to start the job, and had two of our contractors waiting for the van and it's belongings. We paid $500. cash, and one of the contractors had to Venmo the other $500. WE BASICALLY GOT ROBBED! Only reason we didnt call the police is that it was our mistake for not asking how much the tow would cost ahead of time. So, this guy just saw our desperation and completely took advantage of the situation. NOT sure that Adams Towing even knows about this? Tow truck driver may have even been the owner, not sure... Hopefully NOT! As this was disgraceful. We were expecting to pay maybe $500. which we feel would have been fair.... shame on us for trusting and not asking for a price first, but SHAME ON THIS GUY for taking advantage and demanding $1,500. This is a true story (except for the sunset, as it was nighttime). These guys are incredibly nice, professional, and talented. If you ever have car trouble, call them immediately. I had scheduled an appointment with another mobile mechanic service provider who did not show or respond to any messages. In a panic (because my car was completely dead and parked in front of a fire hydrant!), I Google searched while sitting in my car and contacted Neighborhood Roadside Assistance. The dispatcher there consulted with her team and said they could have someone out within the hour. About 10 minutes later, I received a call from their mechanic, Mitch, who said he was coming from New Jersey and should be there in 35-40 minutes. Once Mitch arrived, he saw that one of my battery terminals was badly corroded and asked if I knew of a parts store nearby. I did not, so he Googled some locations and we drove around to two different shops trying to get a replacement part! Unfortunately we could not find the right part locally, so he replaced the battery with the existing part but offered to pick one up in New Jersey and come back to replace it! Could not have asked for better service, especially in NYC. Neighborhood Roadside Assistance will be my go-to for any future needs.

Without any provocation, this individual verbally assaulted me and then attempted to ram my vehicle. The situation escalated further when he deliberately positioned his tow truck in front of my car, using it to intimidate and threaten me. He proceeded to move the tow platform toward my vehicle in a manner that strongly suggested an intent to strike it. The entire encounter was alarming and left me shaken. At no point was his behavior justified or appropriate. I remain uncertain as to his exact intentions, whether he intended to damage my vehicle, force entry, or otherwise harm me, but his actions were aggressive, erratic, and posed a clear safety risk. This incident occurred in the CVS parking lot located at 375 Queen Anne Road in Teaneck. Conduct of this nature is completely unacceptable, particularly from someone entrusted with operating a large commercial vehicle on public streets. I urge you to take this matter seriously and investigate it promptly. No one should have to experience this level of intimidation or danger.
