Since the Sterling Cleaners on South Hamilton Road has taken over new ownership the quality of dry cleaning my clothes is unsatisfactory. Within the last 6 months I always have to take an article of clothing back for some reason. This latest reason is my solid gray kakhi. When I received them back they had a bunch of white lines throughout the pants. I assume the Arabic gentleman is the owner who informed me that he couldn't help it! Not an ounce of understanding that this cleaners ruined my pants. He offered me $20 off my next visit, but before he did that I told him I wasn't returning as a customer due to all my clothing issues. Terrible & I will NEVER support this business ever any! I've had several issues in the past & because of their close location & cheap prices, I kept giving them chances.. But after my last time there, I'm finally done! They messed up some light-blue jeans that I really liked wearing! They gave them back to me with red dye on them in several places.. I pointed it out to them immediately when I went to pick up my clothes.. They took them back to fix, a TOTAL OF THREE TIMES which took about a month of back & forth! The manger/owner told me there was nothing else they could do & told me that they are not responsible if dye transfers onto clothes! I used to live on the east side and now I am in Grandview, and I still journey to the east side for my dry cleaning needs. Pros: Cheap Fast Efficient Cons: The waiting area is a little small, which means the line can go out the door. And on a cold day, it's just not cool. They mostly have high school students working, they are nice enough but haven't mastered the are of customer service yet. read more

This is the cheapest cleaners in town, that's why I come here. I usually have a lot of clothes to dry clean because of my work. That's one thing that I like, I can come here without breaking the bank. But I will say that they are slow and their system is very antiquated. They do everything by hand. I'm surprised that the conveyor thing they keep the clothes on is automated. I would expect it to be by hand crank. They are also hardly friendly. I have passed this place numerous times and finally took a dress and romper to get cleaned here. I was in and out very fast to drop off my items. I picked them up just the next day too. The price is definitely right here!! Only 1.99 for each item. My dress and romper looked really good when I got them back, I would absolutely come back here again. The price is pretty good but my clothes always come back smelling like a zoo! They wreak of funk and it's unacceptable. If I walk in the store it wreaks of the same funk. Can't something be done to eliminate the smell in the store and once the clothes come back as well? Now I have to make a special trip to go back and have them extract that nasty funky smell from my clothes. At the beginning of August I took three pieces of clothing into Sterling Cleaners next to Eastland Mall. I picked up my clothing the next week, as I inspected them the jacket to my suit had two stains in the front of my jacket. I returned the jacket to be cleaned again. The stain did not come out. The manager was suppose to call me the following day. I have not heard from them yet. I have been into the store a few times & I have called to see if the manager was there. Then I was told they were on vacation. They have been on vacation for over a month. I still have not heard from them as of now. I am very dissatisfied. read more

I am happy with the customer service. Everyone is helpful, and polite. However, the cleaning services leave a lot to be desired. I have stopped taking my white shirts there. They come back well pressed, but never clean. They do a good job with the dry cleaning, but you never know when an equipment failure will leave you without your dress clothes for work, as it did for me today. This has happened to me several times, and I have never been compensated for my time and trouble. Jose, you need to spend more time at this location. read more

Horrible. I would give 0 stars if able I brought 3 shirts in to be dry-cleaned. 1 was lost and never recovered, the other had a yellowish stain on it that was never there before, and the 3rd was okay but it looked as if i never even brought it in to be dry-cleaned. I have used this drycleaning service for at least the last 2 years and the service has gradually gone from bad to deplorable. While it is cheap, the owner Jose just cares more about the number of people coming as opposed to clean clothes. Shirt collars are still dirty when they are returned, clothes are not starched as requested and sometimes they are NOT ready on time or even lost in the process. Worse of is when you request to speak to a supervisor, you are bounced back and forth. Service is deplorable. Giving it a 1 star rating is even an overstretch..Quality rating is zero. read more

I took my winter coat to this place for dry cleaning back in February. When I picked it up, it was discolored and damaged. I talked to the managers about it; they acknowledged that the coat had faded during the dry cleaning process, but blamed the manufacturer (saying that there must have been a defect with the fabric). Obviously, I did not agree with their response because the reasons why many items are dry clean is to protect the fabrics from discoloration, shrinking, and other potential problems that could occur with machine washing. Jose did not resolve the problem and he refused to replace the coat. Since I was going on a business trip, I had to go buy a brand new coat. I will never return to this dry cleaner! read more

I have been a loyal and faithful customer here at Sterling for well over 10 years' through this journey of weekly trips dropping off and picking up clothes I've gotten to know the friendly employees and staff some on a first name basis. I had a concern about a ticket I had and wasn't sure if I had picked the items up so i left a message for Priscilla (manager/owner) to call me about the items i was told she just left, she's only here in the mornings, she in a meeting. I thought wow she's extremely busy she'll get to me when she's done...so i thought after a month or so i went in with another order business as usually i asked the employee if he knew if she had gotten my messages he responded he wasn't sure but offered to take copies of the tickets in question and my phone number again and said he would make sure she would get the message to her (Priscilla) well weeks have gone by and no word from Priscilla or anyone else in the company, it finally registered with me that she had no intentions on contacting me this is why i cannot no longer allow her to have my business as a consumer it was a great price and the staff were wonderful people, but having a morally duty and being the right thing to do (call the customer) I cannot continue doing business there. Not saying this would happen to anyone else but just be aware of the potential of what could happen to you. As for me investing 10+ years of faithful service and business and not even a phone call from anyone to see what's going on really shows how she feels far as customer service. read more

They lost my skirt. They ended up finding the skirt. When the skirt was returned to me the alterations were horrible. So, they had to redo the job. They charged me for alterations on my husband suit. Returned the suit without it being done, but dry cleaned it only. I spoke to Priscilla about the items. She basically told me I was never charged for the alterations. Even though I told her I had the receipt for proof. Then she placed me on hold to check their receipts. Come to find out I was right. She then began to yell at her coworker about messing up. Then said I was, "B****ing" at her. I did not use not one swear word nor yell at her. I was calm and told her the situation. When I confronted her about how she described me to her coworker, she quickly tried to apologize and say that she should not have said that. Then, I guess as some type of apology offered me $35.00 even though I spent over $120.00 this past visit in alterations and dry cleaners. Wow. I think I will pay the $6.00 for great customer service and know the job will get done. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR...... This place does not even deserve one star.
