After checking out Stereo Lab on the internet, my brother and I took a chance and took our beloved 2285B Marantz receivers from Cleveland to Columbus for the Marantz Gold Plate service. Buyer beware! Took a set of vintage Advent home speakers in to be refoamed. Took six months to get back. Got home and the sound was horrible. Pulled the grills off and was horrified to discover they swaped out the woofers for non matching speakers. Further inspection they swaped the drivers as well. Absolutely no integrity and greasey. The guy was super impatient and rude. We were ready to buy and we were asking a few details about a turntable and he got super irritated about basic questions. We called the day before because we live out of town and they said they would be happy to demo it today. When we asked about demoing it he said no, got more agitated and that's when we walked out. We were the only customers in the store and the whole interaction was about 3 minutes. He seemed irritated that we were even there. read more

DO NOT BOTHER. These guys legit are crooks & criminals lol. You will end up paying more to fix any audio equipment you bring here. I gave these guys the benefit of the doubt at every step and they just continually took advantage of me. I took a turntable console to be fixed, not only did they steal my turntable (I have to assume they used it to fix another customers item) they gave me some busted turntable that was melted with no motor. I was able to compare photos I took before I dropped it off (thank god) just to realize how much these guy screwed me. The one saving grace was that initially they offered the deposit back in store credit but they gave me it back in cash. I actually felt bad because I thought they had done some work, so I gave them half back. Boy what a mistake, they definitely made out on that deal, not a single thing was done besides them stealing the original turntable. Bunch of jokes, you are honestly better off finding a retired specialist who used to work in the audio industry. I was able to find one in Cleveland that also verified the claims I made above. read more

This is an unimpressive looking place in a small shopping strip. You can easily drive past it if you aren't careful. I have been here several times as they are listed as a licensed repair facility for Infinity speakers, Sony and others. They may not have your parts in stock, but they will order them and the wait isn't too bad. The store seems like a bit of a relic inside, but they do great work on high end equipment. read more

I took my old turnatable and receiver from the 70s..they restored it, but it took a couple trips. Needle in a Haystack on Lane Ave is an alternative in town. read more

I used to shop at the old Stereolab hifi store these guys were doing repairs for at the time. I've had great results from the repairs I've dropped off to them over the years. Just recently had an old Hafler amp repaired that I've had since the 80's, and now it's like new again.. Knowledgeable and friendly, so glad they are still around to keep our equipment going. read more
