I love antique jewelry and occasionally indulge in a sparkling impulse purchase. This place (and…read moretheir downtown location) is one of my favorite shops. They really recognize quality craftsmanship. While the older male downtown isn't the greatest with customer service, I don't mind that he's blunt because he knows what he's talking about. Jake, at the East side location, is who I prefer to deal with. The team there is knowledgeable and friendly. They can be a little rough around the edges (especially when they're busy) but I'm not exactly walking into FAO Schwartz, so I have reasonable expectations - that are always exceded.

Every time I have visited for a loan, the same worker has helped me: rude, nasty, and obnoxious. The same thing happened today: I stopped by for a loan, saw the same person, and got the same attitude. He always lowballs you, and if you question anything, especially the loan, that's when the attitude comes out. You will be better off visiting the other pawn shops in the area, like Lev's pawn shop, which I did today and received $150 more than Buy Here was offering, with no attitude, so shop around; they might be giving you something, but it's a two-way transaction; they need you too.

If that's your thing, maybe come check that out. Biggest issue I had was their "Highest Prices Paid" sign out front. Sorry guys but you aren't even close. I realize that in marketing, slogans, jingles and catchy phrases are a great selling point. But there's also truth in advertising and word of mouth. For example, dealing in Silver or Gold coin and your offering around $10 an ounce, that's a complete insult. The fact that you don't dicker is even more disappointing. Especially when an hour later I found a shop on the 256 that paid $28 per. This also makes me leery of buying anything here, in the event I was interested. 06/24

I placed the stone back in the set and took it to moses. Because I was going, I took some other jewelry to be repaired. 2 weeks later I went to get my jewelry. 3hrs later my diamond was gone. It had never been fixed. Avi, the owner wrote up my repair order and Never even acknowledged that the main thing I needed was my diamond set. He did other repairs and never fixed the diamond and would not accept responcibility for not listening to what I asked him to do. And instead of trying to make it right, basically told me to fuck off. The ticket was scribbled and not legible, otherwise, I may have noticed that he hadn't wrote down anything about setting the diamond. I spent $130 for jewelry repair and the most important part was not handled. I Will NEVER step foot in this place again and dont recommend them to anyone!! My diamond was "Replaced" by Levs Pawn Shop for only 25 dollars more than Moses told me he would have charged me, had he charged me just to "repair" it!!
