This is a one man shop so it could take a month or so before you are able to get your car serviced but would you rather go to someplace which wasn't busy and could see you within the next day or two? Exactly. After purchasing my dream car, I wanted to put in a touch display, some floorboard lighting, and a backup camera. The work was completed on time and within budget. The only snag was that the backup camera was faulty. Thankfully they took care of everything to get it replaced. The communication was great. The service was amazing. The wiring was wrong, they didn't tune it, turned down the sub to where all the bass was coming from back speakers (which caused it to tear). I would never recommend this place. After thoroughly reading reviews, and getting multiple quotes, I decided to go with Mobile West for…read morewindow tinting on my wife's car. They were not the cheapest, nor were they the most expensive. After getting quoted $425 for the entire car with ceramic tint, we scheduled the appointment. I dropped the car off and was told it would take about half the day. I arrived back to pick it up after receiving a call about 4.5 hours later. I went inside and paid. They originally tried to charge me more than was quoted because of a total of 9 windows instead of 7 (they count the 6 inch triangles next to the front two) but Peter made it right, and only charged what he had quoted. I should've inspected the car before paying, because their were several issues with it. After inspecting it, I brought Peter out to take a look. There were several scratches up the sides of the windows, and what looked like rust particles under a few. I am aware that there would be bubbles for a few days while they dried, but this was not that. Peter told me that it was from the plastic tool that they use, and that it should go away in a few days, but if it didn't, to come back and they would redo them. I also noticed that from spraying the windows and the film, our car doors and rear seat had stains on them that were not previously there. I messaged Peter and was scheduled the next week to have them redo some of the windows and have the detail guys clean the fabrics. After bringing it back to them, they did replace the window tints that had the scratches, and I couldn't tell if they actually did detail it, because some of the liquid lines are still visible. Unfortunately, this $425 window tint is going to cost me more money because I'll have to take the car to a real detail shop to clean up. They also left scrap tint trash crumpled up on the floor of the back seat. Overall, I'm not sure how they do with car electronics, but I would personally not recommend them for window tinting.

Needing a real stereo system for my car, I investigated a few shops and decided on Mobile West. My challenge is that all of my music is on iTunes but my amartphone is Android. I don't want to Bluetooth music from my Android as it drains the battery. My goal was to use my iPod shuffle as the music source, which they said could be done. It can't. The speakers, while good, were located in an area that were blocked anytime I had my gym bag or groceries on the floor. After a few back and forths, I upgraded the stereo and put in additional speakers to give it surround sound and to avoid the side door situation. I have a tiny car, which makes it challenging. Mobile West gave me full credit for the previous equipment and the install, which I put towards the new configuration. Stereo system works, not with iPod shuffle, but with an old iPhone that I keep just for this purpose. Most important, the sound is fabulous! Several months later, I noticed the small microphone for voice commands had popped off, opening the sun visor had knocked it. I stopped by the other day and Steve greeted me at the door, remembering me and my car. After taking a look, he said the microphone should be in a different location away from the visor. Without hesitation, he said they would rewire and install a new microphone holder, no charge, since they stand by their work. I didn't have to bring my receipt or anything. He remembered me and that was good enough. I brought my car in the next morning, it took just 10 minutes to rewire to new location. Not only did it look better, it picks up my voice better. They listened as I described how the Best Buy team allowed ME to make decisions of the wiring of the devices. To be placed in a live line? Unbeknownst to me. A constant power drain. I can only a tribute to their hateful nature. So I'm having problems. Long story short. I cannot live like this. By this time Alec (the technician) is in on the meeting. I admittedly that the installer at Best Buy team followed my uneducated answers based on the technicians suggestion. Alec suggested we take a look at the car, after a few minutes they spoke and quoted a cost that I could live with. And the appointment was set. What was most interesting was that the price quoted was the price paid. Thus far I'm pleased with the tear down and replacement of the wires involved. I have intentions of having more work done the lights in the wheelwells that act as blinkers and brake lights as well as the center rear brake light turn signals, which are common on Subarus. Fortunately, I decided to venture down a search into the more local small businesses and came upon this cool old school & quirky shop. I think the gentleman's name was Jim. Older dude that could pass as your nerdy techy friend who's probably collected every tech gadget since the original Tron came out. Told him what I was looking for but I gradually got discouraged as all he was showing me were the bigger style bigger sound units that are common for home systems. But, alas! With a little patience we revealed a new treasure: smaller desk top speakers! Minor speaker mesh stains on the front but super decent with a little TLC. He was super friendly and chill, even making an effort to find parts that could potentially be missing from this set (like compatible power cord). It also came with an amp box that I've got sitting below my desk table, which was a nice surprise (I keep it plugged in for the deeper sounds or just unplugged for more "regular(?)" crispy audio). All that for a really awesome deal; I think it was something like $15-30 or something crazy like that. Good shit, dude! Thank you. If you're looking for small speakers, I probably snagged the last set but I definitely recommend this place for any help with acheiving 2 things at once: reusing/upcycling any sort of old working electronics and supporting a damn good local friendly small business.
