Had an amazing time with my gf riding well mannered horses. Trail ride is great for beginners. The ladies running the operation are very thorough and ride with you to ensure safety and an enjoyable experience. We will try the frontier ride next time.

During our visit to this beautiful bluegrass state, my Missy surprised me with a trip to Deer Run Stables for us to ride horses. We took a short drive from Lexington entering beautiful Madison County. This was my first trip to Kentucky. Growing up my father and I would watch the Kentucky Derby every May. I learned years ago how important horses were to this State, as many say the blue grass which grows from the ground is extremely rich in calcium from the limestone. Thus creating the best horses in the world. Needless to say I was excited to be in Kentucky and enjoying the Deer Run Stables, that is in excess of 300 acres. I highly recommend the drive out to D.R.S and taking a peaceful horse ride. My horse was Gypsy and she was awesome to ride. Britney was our guide and very informative, an unknown named cowboy also escorted us taking photos for the ladies in the tour trying to get them that epic horse riding photograph.

Great experience! We booked a trail ride for a Tuesday afternoon. They got us all set up with our horses and some basic instructions how to handle them. The trail was relatively easy and relaxing but also so much fun. Isabella and Brittney were great trail guides! Would recommend to both beginner and experienced riders.

Everyone there is so nice and knowledgeable! My friend and I had such a blast. The horses are well trained and the trail was gorgeous! Truly a great experience for those who have never ridden a horse before.

Horse lovers dream Saturday Morning! If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Jona and her sweet family are wonderfu! Their hospitality, and equine knowledge provide a welcoming, comfortable, environment to enjoy a lovely trail ride in the heart of horse country. Take the trip to Deer Run and enjoy!

My family and I booked an evening reservation for trail rides. We had a fantastic time!! The staff was friendly and patient. They went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. The horses were friendly and sweet. The landscape on the trail was breathtaking as the sun began to set. I would definitely recommend visiting Deer Run Stable!! We will be back!!

We will be returning in the near future for the general farm tour but if you are a racing fan I recommend you get tickets immediately - Chrome will be going to Chile soon and dates are limited - I cannot emphasize what a great opportunity this tour presents. If you miss it this season put it in your calendar for next year. We got to see California Chrome up close and personal! We got a visit from our friend Liam who works with these fabulous stallions every day! The tour was presented at a very leisurely pace. We were truly able to enjoy our time at Taylor Made Farm. Our tour guide Carly was fabulous! She answered questions and gave a very interesting overview of one of thoroughbred racing's megastars. We toured the breeding shed and the stallion barns. We each got individual photos taken in California Chrome's stall after feeding him one of his favorite cookies! Horse girl heaven let me tell you! We then took a scenic drive over the farm to one of the barns where Chrome's and other sire's babies are housed. The "California Chrome Experience" is a very interactive experience. Lots of opportunities for photos and petting the horses. After the tour we had a meal at Daddy Joe's Bar & Grill which was included with our tickets. Great job Taylor Made Farm for putting together a tour designed with horse lovers in mind. I would truly spend the money to go on the "California Chrome Experience" again. It was that enjoyable!!!

If you want to learn HOW to ride a horse correctly and HOW to stay on the horse while riding, Debbie will teach you the necessary skills required to correctly ride. Debbie will give you one on one lessons. She has been riding and around horses since she was one year old. She brings all her understanding of horse behavior and all her knowledge of horsemanship skills, to you . Come as a learner. Come with a genuine interest to ride. If I get lazy and neglect good form, she inevitably will catch my mistake and correct me, which only makes me a better rider. She will take you at any skill level. She will be straight up with you. If you come to genuinely learn from her, you will be taught . In the course of learning to ride, she will tell you lots of interesting stories about horses and horse behavior based on her own life experience of owning and being around many horses. She doesn't have an assistant . She runs the barn. So be patient in the signing up process. Just because you go to a barn with a warm assistant to greet you and schedule you , doesn't mean you will learn to ride a horse. A good and skilled instructor who enjoys seeing a student progress (that is Debbie), with a student who genuinely wants to learn , is what makes all the difference in mastering the skill.
