Lane's End, owned by Mr. and Mrs. William S. Farish, is one of the world's premier Thoroughbred farms encompassing more than 2,300 acres in Woodford County in the heart of Central Kentucky. In addition to the acreage in Woodford County, Lane's End leases an additional thousand acres in Fayette County known as our Oak Tree Division. Currently standing at stud at Lane's End are such leading sires as CANDY RIDE, LEMON DROP KID, MINESHAFT, UNION RAGS, and QUALITY ROAD. A native of Houston, Texas, Will Farish is a lifelong horseman who raced his first stakes winner, KASKASKIA, in 1967 and has since raced more than 165 stakes winners and bred more than 300 stakes winners, including the 2003 Horse of the Year MINESHAFT, the 1992 Horse of the Year A.P. INDY, 1999 Horse of the Year CHARISMATIC, and Champion LEMON DROP KID. He was the first breeder since A. J. Alexander in 1880 to breed or co-breed two horses (CHARISMATIC and LEMON DROP KID) who combined to win the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness, and the Belmont in the same year. In 1992 and in 1999 he was honored with an Eclipse Award as the year's leading breeder. Lane's End also has an extraordinary record at the sales, as the leading consignor on 26 occasions and as the seller of more than 365 stakes winners, including such champions as A.P. INDY, SAINT LIAM, RAGS TO RICHES, and LEMON DROP KID. Farish served as Chairman of the Board of Churchill Downs from 1992 to 2001, has been a Steward and Vice Chairman of The Jockey Club, a Director and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Breeders' Cup, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Keeneland Association. In 2006, Farish was appointed as a trustee to the Keeneland Association. In 2001, he was appointed by President George W. Bush as the United States Ambassador to the Court of St. James and served in that role for three years. This is a must see horse farm tour in Central Kentucky. Farm information from their website.

I've been involved with horses for every decade of my life, and I keep coming back to 3 day. It's a…read moreclosely-knit yet welcoming community of folks of all ages who really love their horses. Head trainer and owner, Tanya, is big on building strong foundations and has an excellent reputation for starting young horses or retraining difficult ones. She's also the head coach for Transylvania University's head eventing team, which is based at the farm. There's an indoor plus outdoor arena, a cross country field, and plenty of room in surrounding farmland to hack out or do interval training. Tanya especially, along with the farm and stable managers are big on barn and horse safety - this is the kind of place where you will find no sharp corners or edges, breakaway hooks on every cross tie and rope, everything up to code, well-maintained paddocks and fencing, no dogs allowed, etc. If someone is doing something that's not leading to the optimum safety and protection of their and others horses, they'll be told so. The stalls, wash rack, tack room, and aisle are kept very clean. Quality is valued in every lesson beginner to advanced, and in horse care. Stall-care horses are fed twice per day, with pasture-care horses brought in by staff for daily feedings for a reasonable added fee as needed. 12 stall barn, 5 big pastures, and smaller paddocks for overflow/quarantine horses. They throw good hay in the winter and provide up to 2 scoops per day of high quality Hallway feeds grain for pasture horses, included in the price of board. The unofficial barn farrier & barn vet are top-notch and preferred in their fields by sport horse owners. Plus, the barn cats are AWESOME. They have their own Instagram @catsofthreedayfarm .

Clover Hill Farm is a beautiful equestrian facility in Paris, Kentucky…read more The staff is extremely knowledgeable in the care and training of horses and riders. The barns, grounds, and horses are all very well taken care of. They truly care for their clients and the horses. I started training here in April and have learned more in the short time I have been here than I have in all of my previous lessons at other riding centers. Dominika has such a positive and encouraging method of teaching. She is very patient and knowledgeable about all aspects of horsemanship. I really like that I am challenged to exceed my own expectations each lesson but never pushed beyond my own comfort level. The lesson horses are fit, well trained, and matched well to each riders level. I can't explain how happy I am to have found such an amazing farm. I highly recommend Clover Hill Farm.
