Best place to take your Mercedes to have it fixed, on the face of the planet IMO. Andreas, the owner is terrific and you can't find human being than he is, anywhere. He is fair and honest, two qualities hard to find these days. read more

Stepke Imports - My 560, well taken care of by Andreas. - Auto Repair Near Me - Los Angeles, California

Excellent Service and advice. One of the very few places that service Smart Cars. I highly recommend.

Andreas is great. No Nonsense. Straight forward. He is very real about the cars he fixes. No extra charges. Not trying to get you for an unneeded repair read more

I had a MBZ 380sl that I was told by another mechanic that the wiring harness needed rewiring and it would be $5000 and it would take several days. My attorney suggested I try Rudi. I took it in and he called me an hour later saying it was ready....???I was shocked. I went to pick it up and I asked what happened and he said it was easy it was only a fuse!!! He could have totally ripped me off and I would not have known. This is the kind of honest shop we all want. His son Andreas is the same. Oh and Rudi worked at the MBZ plant in Stuttgart when he was young read more

As a first time owner of an older Mercedes, I was pretty freaked out when I got a burning plastic smell inside the car within the first week, driving with my wife and kids. I'd assumed it was electrical and was in for trouble when I stopped in here and got a quick and honest diagnosis from Andreas - super nice guy. The issue was clearly explained, addressed in a timely manner, and at a good price. Turned out to be a minor oil leak dripping on the catalytic converter, and not a huge or expensive fix. I felt a great sense of relief that I hadn't made a big mistake with my purchase, and also that I'd found my new mechanic. While I happen to be in the neighborhood, I'd gladly travel for this level of knowledgeable and expert service. I've since been back for other minor repairs and preventative maintenance, and left happy each time. A big thanks to this team for keeping us safe and on the road! read more

Andreas and his team did a great job with my 1977 Mercedes 300D. I took it in for a few issues and they fixed them in a couple of days for a few hundred bucks. I will define using them for all of my future work. read more

EXPERTS! - I bought my first classic Benz on eBay twelve years ago, and after lots of research, Stepke came up as the go place for servicing Mercedes. They are specialists and run their shop with great integrity and love for their customers. They will take great care of you as they have of me and the many friends I have referred. Why go anywhere else! This is what you want when it comes to servicing your car. Honest, competent, knowledgeable, and experienced. Super reasonable pricing and they back up their work. After bringing my cars here for over a decade, I can't say enough good things about Stepke. read more

Highly recommend Stepke to all Smart Car owners. They have a mechanic specifically trained to work with Smart Cars. It's a rare thing in the USA. read more

Finding a Mercedes mechanic like Andreas is a blessing. Stepke has the three things that keep me (as a consumer) loyal to a business. 1. Friendly service 2. Knowledgeable management and staff 3. Fair and honest pricing It's such a simple formula, yet so rare to find...especially in a Mercedes repair shop. Also...you don't want anyone messing with a Mercedes who doesn't have the proper equipment. If you (like me) want to avoid the dealership service hassle...Stepke is the place you need to know about first. read more

Andres is awesome. Honest guy, he'll tell you what needs to be done, and how much. He genuinely cares about your car. I feel 100% comfortable leaving him my car knowing he won't mess with it, cheat me, or over quote me. 5 stars and highly recommended read more

Best Smart and Mercedes mechanic in Los Angeles. Honest, efficient, and incredibly talented. Andres provides better service than the dealership at a better price. They are busy, as to be expected, but well worth the wait. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND !!! If I had a chance to put another star on this review, from the bottom of my heart I 100% would. Andreas and his father received real Factory Training in Deutschland, which is very rare in California. They have been our friends and go to for more then 10 years. My family is German, moved to LA and for quite a while they struggled, as most Mercedes shops just simply can't replicate his elegance, and are not nearly as reliable. That being said, we have only owned Mercedes and strictly no other brand in our lifetime. My Father and I will continue to visit him as long as we can, he is such a great guy and always gets the job done. The Absolute Best! read more

Back in the day I used to race my cars. So, I am picky as to how I would choose a mechanic for my car. It's hard to find a good, qualified, and honest mechanic now a days. And having your car serviced after the warranty expired at the Mercedes dealership can cost a heart and a lung. Stepke was highly recommended by my friend Brian. Brought the Benz to these guys for my Service A & B scheduled maintenance. Their prices are very reasonable. This is also a mom and pop shop. Rudy is the father who's been working on Mercedes cars for years. His son Andreas also works at the shop. Wonderful family. Recently, took the Benz for a Service B and needed a new headlight. I didn't get Andreas call that my car was ready and called him at around 5 when they closed. Andreas was kind enough to offer to stay over 5 pm so that we can take our time to go to his shop and get his car. I didn't know what time I would get to the shop since it was rush hour. So, he kindly offered to have the car stay at the shop over the weekend. We decided to do that. That was very nice of him to offer that. He even kept my car indoors instead of parking it outside. When we picked up my car Andreas informed me that along with the Service B and headlight replacement that he noticed a leak in one of the transmission oil hosings. He replaced the hose with a new one and did not charge me for the labor. AWESOME!!! At the dealer they would have charged me $100 just for doing that. It's these things that keep the customer coming back. These guys are good, nice, and HONEST!! And I will definitely be along time customer. read more

FYI, this review is long overdue. After moving to Mar Vista few years back, I had to find a new Mechanic specializing in Mercedes to take my car to for maintenance and repair of my E350. My former Client introduced me to Andreas and his father Rudy about two and half years ago after her great experience of having her S Class serviced with them. She raved about them so I took my car in for an oil change and a tire rotation. After the first visit, the rest is history and I've been their client since for brakes and other engine repairs on top of all the scheduled maintenance my car required. I plan to take my car to Andreas as long as I live in the West LA area. Andreas and his team is straight forward, explains the why and what to look out for, and is great about touching base with me after diagnosing the problem and discussing how he'll repair it before he starts work. I'd say take your car to Andreas for servicing. Taking your car to the dealer is overrated and overpriced. Most importantly, I'm glad to have someone I can trust to take care of my car. Thanks Andreas! read more

Quality and honest work at a very reasonable price. If you have a Benz take it to these guys.

I too felt a need to give a" shout out" to Stepke Imports , Andreas and his top notch staff. Simply put they are the very best . Honest and reliable with incredible attention to detail. No better mechanics in Los Angeles. If you have a Mercedes look no further. No one is better. Period. Plus their prices are very reasonable. I have spent close to 20 years having them service my three Mercedes and I have never been disappointed - and I mean NEVER disappointed. In fact, one of my Mercedes is almost 35 years old and thanks to Stepke it runs like new. You can't to better - so why go anywhere else. Stepke is the one - and only. read more

My dad was always my mechanic, now that he's gone I've had a hard time finding a place I know I can trust. I think I finally have! Andreas was very nice and took great care of my dad's 1980 240D. I gave him my list of problems which included some potentially big stuff. Turns out they were very straightforward not nearly as expensive I was expecting. The car purrs better than it has in years! I'll be back with both my classic 240D and new Mercedes GLK350. read more

I'll never go to another mechanic. These guys are not only professional, they are so down to earth and extremely reasonable with their pricing. They've been taking care of my G Wagon for quite some time now, and it runs like when I first bought it from the dealer. Stepke Imports is hands down one of the most solid garages one can take their Mercedes Benz to. read more

Rarely is there this caliber of care, honesty and attention to the needs of a customer. Andreas is a remarkable mechanic and business owner. I Am Impressed with his work and thoughtful approach to assessing a car snd what benefactor to be done. Don't hesitate to call on this business for your cars needs. read more

These guys are amazing. Andreas and his father Rudy are the real deal. I lived on the westside for nine years before moving up to SF, but decided I owed these guys a good review after years of impeccable service. Everything you've read here is true. They are excellent mechanics with real attention to detail. Prices are always very reasonable and in a lot of cases, much less than I was quoted elsewhere. They've even cleaned up my car/windows when I've come in for simple repairs - feels like a new car when I get it back. If possible, they will always give you some options... Because a big fat $1200 repair isn't doable sometimes, but if you can get away with a quick fix for $250 and come back when you've got more money - perfect. They are honest to a fault and that's a rare quality these days. I should mention that I have a '93 190E Mercedes. It's a great car, but not everyone has the skills/know-how or desire to work on a 22 year old German auto. These guys are straight fantastic and I wish they were up in San Francisco. If you have a Mercedes Benz, you won't regret working with Stepke Imports. read more

I own a 2001 CL 500, with 335,000 miles on it. Needless to say, the maintenance costs have been sky high. This past month, the vehicle wouldn't pass smog test. My "go to" mechanic, advised that the repair would be close to $1,000. Andreas figured out, that the challenge was NOT, what I was previously told, AND, the total repair was less than $200, and completed within hours of being dropped off. Stepke is my new mechanic!!! read more

This mechanics shop is really great. They do jobs beyond your imagination. They are honest, too. I hope they are not exclusively to Mercedes. Thank you Andreas read more

Exceptional service provided by exceptional men. My family has brought their cars here for years and we all don't know what we would do without Stepke. If you own a Mercedes and you aren't coming here to service it, then you are doing it wrong. read more

This is my second review of this place and I can't say enough! I just had to have some codes reset on my C230 and some fuses replaced, after the faulty CD changer caused the car to go crazy. Drove the car down in the morning, dropped it off and a short while later the work was done, and Andreas and his guys didn't charge me a DIME! If you have a MBZ there is NO WHERE else you need to go... these guys are amazing. read more

I recently had my E430 serviced at Stepke Imports with Andreas, I have been a customer with Stepke Imports for over 35 years. I started with his father Rudy when I managed the body shop for Simonson Mercedes and met Rudy due to some mechanical issues with my vehicles at the time, he was a great technician and always did a great job on servicing my vehicles. Recently I came back to Stepke Imports to have my new used Mercedes serviced and heard the news that Rudy had passed away, I met Andreas at that time and was told the news about his dad passing away. The term " greatness " can not even describe the service that Andreas provided to me and my vehicle recently, I brought it in for a few problems that needed to be serviced, Andreas diagnosed the noise my vehicle was making in 30 seconds, I left the vehicle for repairs and was surprised when I was called the next day to advise me my car would be done tomorrow. When I picked up my vehicle the next day Andreas had told me that he also replaced my wiper blade and remote battery that I knew I needed without me even asking for, that is the kind of service provided by Andreas and Stepke Imports. Andreas has followed in his dads footsteps and provides legendary service to Mercedes owners vehicles, my vehicle drives perfect and I will be back when my vehicle needs its next service. Thank you again Andreas for an excellent repair and the great service that your dad would be proud of. read more

Stopped by today with my 2014 Mercedes after reading the 5 star reviews, and I can see why! I didn't get the mechanic's name, but I explained I couldn't get the cap off of the coolant reservoir to fill. I also mentioned that I thought I needed an oil change and new brakes. He was able to remove the lid, top off the coolant, and inspect the brakes at no charge. He told me I don't need brakes yet, or an oil change until the car indicates a need for service. Seriously, who doesn't try to at least charge you for an oil change?? I'll definitely be back when it is time to service my car because I greatly appreciated their honesty, and not trying to upsell me on things I didn't need!! read more

I have been coming here for over 25 years and i am always looking forward to going in for "car surgery" . Andreas knows what he is doing and he is honest to a fault . My 1984 300TD wagon runs like a new car ( in 1984) and thanks to Andreas i will never have to sell it. I would not bring any of my Mercedes to anybody else. Thank you Andreas!! read more

Andreas is the most honest mechanic you will ever meet or at least I have ever met! He had a chance to overcharge me 3 times and I would have never even known, but he did not. 1st time - I thought my key was broken, turned out battery was blocked - no charge. 2nd time - my steering wheel does not move up or down, he checked if my car is still under warranty and because it just ended he suggested I called the dealership and ask them if they can fix it for free. It did not happen, even though Encino MB was open to me coming in but I wanted place closer by but Santa Monica dealership would barely want to talk to me. So I decided to have Stepke fix it even though he was recommending not to do it as it was close to $1,000. Guess what? 3rd time - Turned out it was not as complex as he thought it would be and charged me only $100 and washed my dirty car. Honestly, as a new mother overwhelmed with everything I almost cried tears of joy leaving the place hoping that every and any business would be just like Stepke Imports. I used to be worried about car repairs but now I am at peace. Thank you for everything!!! read more

There is no better place to take a Mercedes for repair than Stepke Imports. Andreas is a wizard. And he will never tell you your car needs this or that unless it absolutely needs it. I have personal experience because the last time I took my car to a Mercedes dealer they told me my car needed $7200 of work. Andreas said I didn't need some of the work and charged me $2600 for all the work I did need. Goodbye, Mercedes dealer, hello Stepke Imports. And Andreas's work is so much better than any dealer who has worked on my car. Stepke Imports is a no-brainer. read more

I have a 1974 450 SE V8. I've had it for decades and it's like an old friend. My boy was raised in it and he even prefers it to my new MBZ. Now a days not only is it hard to find someone who will work on it but someone who knows what there doing and is honest. Andreas is that man! I took my car to Andreas in a last ditch effort to bring my car back to it's original performance and safety. I had taken it to almost every MBZ shop on the westside. Otherwise my only other option I was to sell it against my son wishes. After throwing tons of money at it because of lesser mechanics and to only resulting in mediocre results at best I was done. My car was a mess and I gave Andreas a bullet list of repairs and what I could afford. He was so chill and he managed to do it all and on budget! I can not tell you how happy my son and I are with the results. Andreas is the MAN. My car runs better and fells more secure than the day I bought it. No Lie! Oh. and new MBZ, it hasn't left my garage since I got the old one back. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! read more

This review is long overdue but Andreas is amazing! I brought my C240 Wagon here for three years before moving away from LA and every experience I had at Stepke imports was nothing less than the best. I had a Mercedes for about 7 years and I went to Stepke the whole time. Andreas is your classic "honest mechanic." Really, no kidding, the full-blown real thing. He's as good as it gets. When it was time to buy a new car, a BMW wagon, I actually seriously considered buying a Merc instead simply because of Andreas. That's about as good a compliment as a guy can offer, that he might buy a car he likes less because he doesn't want to leave his mechanic, heh. Go see Andreas. read more

Very happy with Stepke for the many years I've been going, which is a good thing--I have a grey market Smart car, and they are pretty much the only guys in the region who will work on it (Mercedes dealers won't touch my car.) He got the expensive set-up needed to work on these cars when a couple of new grey market Smart owners needed his help with maintenance and repair. Andreas the owner is a good guy who will go out of his way to help with the smallest problem, often not charging for the small incidentals and quick fixes. It's nice to finally have a mechanic I truly trust and can rely on after a lifetime of one bad experience after another... read more

I bought my Mercedes E55 AMG a couple years ago while I lived in California and luckily was referred to Stepke Imports from the seller who had the car serviced there too. Not only did I ALWAYS get excellent service and the FAIREST prices on all of the needed service and repairs (because they know what you need and that's all they do!) and got my free car wash every time I had my car serviced there, but both Dad, Rudy (great guy with an amazing life story) and Son, Andreas are 2 of the nicest guys you will ever meet. So, I moved to Phoenix about a year ago and have had several maintenance issues and have continued to call Andreas as recently as yesterday to get advice on the service and pricing at a local Phoenix shop where I take my E55 now and he has continued to service my needs even tho he knows I no longer live in California and will not benefit financially from taking his time to help me, because that's the kind of people these guys are. If your car is out of warranty and you live anywhere near them and go anywhere else for service,, in my opinion you couldn't be making a worse decision!
