I was told that insurance would be verified and that they would submit everything for a coverage estimate prior to treatment. After my exam and X-rays, I was informed that I had periodontal disease and would need scaling and root planing. I was also told I had approximately nine cavities and was strongly encouraged to proceed with laser treatment that was not covered by insurance. At no point did I feel I was given clear, conservative options or a breakdown of urgency versus elective procedures. The initial visit resulted in a $200 charge, and I was quoted approximately $800 for the recommended deep cleaning. Because the diagnosis felt significant, I sought a second opinion as I've never had periodontal issues and receive regular cleanings (I worked in the dental industry for years). At another dental office, I was told that I do not have periodontal disease and do not need scaling and root planning cleanings. Their review of my X-rays showed no signs supporting that diagnosis, aside from two isolated pockets near areas where my wisdom teeth had previously been extracted. Then was informed I have two areas on my molars that needed very small fillings on the occlusal areas. They were shocked my Mason Dentals treatment plan! Based on this second opinion, I'm concerned about the difference in diagnoses and the treatment plan I was given. I would recommend getting a second opinion before proceeding with Mason Dental.

If they had a website to pay the balance it would not be an issue. I don't give out my credit card info over the phone. His team, especially Rosa, were very compassionate, answered all of my questions, and even responded to any calls or texts I had regarding the procedure and recovery in between my visits. The day of my surgery, the whole team helped me calm down and joked with me until the very moment the IV kicked in. Dr. Choi has also been the most successful doctor to get an IV set up with me (I have tiny veins and bruise easily). He made the whole experience smooth and more painless than I ever expected. The actual gum graft covers five of my teeth. The pain was much less than I expected for this procedure, and that's coming from someone who doesn't always handle pain very well. Now I have healthy gums and I couldn't be happier with how it all worked out. I was very nervous going into this until I met this team. They honestly care about their patients and that makes all the difference in the world. Anyone who is even contemplating a gum procedure I would recommend to visit with this team. I went in for a denture repair and the person who took me back took me to do X-rays. When I told her it was a denture repair she said she had to x-ray first. That was obviously to rack up my bill. She said she had to do them and the she would "see if the lab tech could fix my dentures". I told her so needed to know IF he could fix them first and she rudely told me to give her my dentures. She came back and said it would be a week because they had to order the tooth so I could go somewhere else and maybe I would not have to wait a week. I left very upset and decided to go back in because I didn't know what to do. Alex was super kind and told me the tech might have a close match. While I was waiting my daughter found someone who would send my dentures to the lab and have them back to me the same day.
