I couldn't thank him and his staff enough for their attention to detail, patience and professionalism. Fast forward to June- I was in quite a jam with my chip in my front tooth. I had my regular dentist work on it several times, but the problem persisted every few weeks where the fix would fall off or chip off again. I was visiting the area and needed to repair the chip before my engagement photoshoot. The lovely ladies at the receptionist desk was able to make me an appointment with Dr. Amir Shahbazian who repaired the tooth. I was given a recommendation by Tufts Healthcare to contact MassOMS Oral surgery when I had a molar…read morecrack a few days before Christmas, and could not find any Oral surgeon in the area that had any openings before the end of the year. MassOMS got me in immediately for a consultation and then scheduled me for Oral surgery the day after Christmas! It turned out that I also had a problem with 2 other molars next to the cracked tooth which had to be removed, so it required bone implants to be installed for a future permanent bridge. The oral surgeon was Dr. Aijeoye and she and her staff performed the entire procedure with me under anesthesia and it really went well, without any major pain. I also saved money because my Dental insurance from Tufts is a PPO paydown that expires at the end of every year and I would have lost the remaining balance. I am so pleased with the professional manner in the way I was treated and the staff there is very pleasant as well. This nightmare of having a major tooth problem during the holidays, and then having a business care enough to fit me in when they are so busy was amazing and I am very happy with the results.

Second, and more hilariously, the person who called me back after I called to complain about this unusual charge decided to take any discussion of this charge as a personal attack on her, whined loudly that she doesn't need to put up with this (i.e. a discussion of how their business practices is unethical), brought up issues unrelated to any charging decisions that they provided upfront and hung up in a huff. Usually, when I have differences of opinion with a business, I go out of my way to convey my displeasure to the people involved in that business and then pay any monies owed as long as the charge isn't usurious. If I am unhappy with them, I just stop using their services. In this case, I find that the snarky response of the person who called me, her unhelpful demeanor, and the whole clutching-her-pearls aspect of the phone call off putting. It looks like this person is famous in other reviews of this place. If she is an employee, the owners are screwing up. If she is the owner, god help your establishment. Katarina Pavlicic as a client of mine and felt comfortable seeking her advice as the pain mounted and the need for treatment became unavoidable. Surprisingly, on her vacation, she took my call and was kind enough to listen while I whined on and on. She gave me many suggestion and solutions on dealing with the pain with the bottom line being that I could see one of her recommended colleagues, or wait and see her in two days. I chose the latter and have been thrilled I did so. From the moment I arrived and was greeted by Rene at check- in, to the dental assistant Ellen's amazing way of being comforting and funny I was put much more at ease than I expected. Later, my sister received a follow-up text from the office about confirming an appointment. She also had reached out to inquire about Invisalign. But By that time they finally replied to her, she had already decided to move forward with another dental office, so she asked if I could take that available slot instead. The office replied saying that would be fine. However, when I was about five minutes away from the office, the receptionist, Hannah, called and said there had been some confusion and that I should keep my original appointment. That was extremely frustrating because I had already rearranged my schedule and was on my way. It didn't make sense that I was told I could come in if I ultimately couldn't be seen to conduct the appointment in its entirety. When I eventually had my appointment, the doctor and the back-of-house staff were very kind and professional. The visit itself was going well, and I told the doctor I wanted to move forward with Invisalign. I was then told it would take about four weeks for the trays to come in. I've had Invisalign before and know it often takes closer to two weeks, but I was still willing to proceed. The biggest issue came when discussing payment. I was given four payment options, and I asked if I could use my dental insurance and pay the remaining balance with my CareCredit card. I was told that wasn't possible. They mentioned they asked the doctor and apologized, but the answer remained no. I've never experienced a dental office being so restrictive about how a patient chooses to pay. It also makes the promotion offered very misleading considering that's not what's advertised. We went back and forth on the phone for about seven minutes over a simple request: arranging the follow-up call I had already been told to expect. I had to ask multiple times before she finally agreed to have the doctor call me directly. When I asked when I could expect the call, she told me the doctor is "busy all day, every day" and couldn't provide even a general timeframe. That response was unprofessional and unnecessary. I completely understand that doctors are busy but basic communication and courtesy should still apply. This interaction made an already stressful situation worse.
