I was referred to Dr. Post by my optometrist. He is very thorough and his easy going manner takes the fear away.

This review is long overdue!…read more Several months ago, out of nowhere, my eye was in excruciating pain. I went to urgent Care, who said it was likely a scratched cornea but they stressed I had to see a real opthalmologist the next day. I called Alameda Eye Physicians as soon as they opened and they very graciously fit me in within a matter of hours. When I woke up the next day in even more pain, again they fit me in immediately. Turned out my iris was inflamed, which is rare if there has been no physical trauma to the eye. Dr. Khong even suggested I get some blood work up done to rule out some comorbidities. Dr. Khong even called me in the evening to see if my eye pain had subsided and if I was feeling better. I think this is the first time a Dr. has called me after office hours just to check up on me. Also, every single one of the front desk people were courteous, friendly, compassionate and quick. I feel so grateful that I happened upon this practice in my time of need!

I have been a patient of Dr. Bui for several years, and I cannot speak highly enough of the medical care. Dr. Bui is fantastic, thorough, and the sole reason I have stayed with this clinic for so long. Unfortunately, the front desk staff makes every visit incredibly frustrating. For years, I have tolerated a consistent lack of professionalism and warmth at the front counter. The staff rarely seems pleasant to work with, and if you ask a simple question, they treat it as though you are causing them a major inconvenience. It is incredibly discouraging to be treated like a burden by the administrative team just to see an excellent physician. Patients deserve to be greeted with basic courtesy and respect. I highly recommend the doctor, but the practice desperately needs to invest in customer service training for their front desk staff.

This place is really hard to work with, and I think it's mainly due to one woman who works there…read moreand isn't nice. But in general, I wouldn't recommend this place. We have used this place twice. The good thing about this place is they have a good selection of children's frames, which most places don't have. Also, they did a good job making the glasses (or their lab did). They also take the Covered California medical insurance for children's exam and glasses, and most places don't. These are the reasons for 2 stars instead of 1 star. The bad things: The eye exam appointments need to be booked 3 months in advance or more. It is very hard to get an exam slot. I've been to many places and it has never been this hard. Even at an ophthalmologist, where they are also doing surgeries and such, it is easier to get an appointment for an eye exam. You need an appointment to look at glasses, and it also takes a while to get an appointment. At other places, you can often get a same day appointment, or at least within the next day or two. But at Eyewise, you have to wait 2-3 weeks. Even the second time we came, as repeat customers, we had an urgent issue (broken glasses) and had to wait a long time for an appointment. We finally got an appointment, and then the woman who works here didn't even help us. Why do you need an appointment if they are just going to ignore you the whole time anyway? She never even got up from her desk. We had to go over to her and ask specific questions. When we were ready to order the glasses and went to tell her, she finally came over but didn't explain options or say anything or make eye contact or act nice at all. I felt like we were really putting her out or something. The only reason we got glasses here was because of the good selection of children's frames. The other time we went here it was because we had only a couple places we could use insurance, and the same woman was there, and very unfriendly. The whole time, I felt like I'd done something wrong just by being there. It was not a welcoming experience. That time it was for both exam and glasses. The exam was fine. The glasses are fine. But the experience is bad. I don't need much help, but being completely ignored even when I first arrive feels bad. If it had happened only once, I'd think maybe she was just having a bad day, but nope, not 4 times total. When the glasses were ready, they called to let us know and schedule a time for us to pick them up. I said I could come now or anytime the next day, and they said their first available time was a week later. A week later! Just to get the glasses? So we took the first available appt, and when we went, they just handed us the glasses and asked are they fine, and we were gone. I don't know why you need an appt for that and why we couldn't have just gotten them earlier. Also, every time we've been here, it's never been busy, we're usually the only ones there and it's a very quiet place. This place moved from the Nob Hill shopping area to near Marina Village, in an office building. You ring a doorbell to get buzzed into the building. I've been to many optometry shops in my life, and the experience here pales in comparison with all the others.

My eye exam was very straight forward, Dr Hansson even apologized that there were no major changes after my exam, loved his humor. After the exam I sat down with one of the reps to go over my glasses needs. Narrowed down to frame and type of glasses I wanted (transitional colored and anti-reflective lenses), was transparent with even breaking down the costs and what my insurance covered, appreciated the full disclosure. Gave me an ETA of 2.5-3wks for glasses arrival. I came in on 5/21 so I called on 6/2 just to follow in case it had already arrived but they were too busy to inform me. Turns out it just got mailed out on 6/2 and was assured it will arrive sometime this week. I called on Saturday 6/13 at noon since i haven't heard anything back and found out it had actually arrived on Friday. This was the minor issue I had, Saturday morning since they've opened no one reached out to me, they close on Sundays and Mondays so if I never followed up on Sat, i would not be getting them until Tuesday and I actually needed them asap too. I don't buy that they were too busy to notify me via call/txt/email unless their foot traffic was like the lines at In N Out. Overall, glasses were great! Will come back again!

THUD. 20 seconds…read morelater... Nnnnnnnnnggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Oh, my head... thick and foggy. Ugh, that was a weird dream. OK, I'm lying here, contorted. Wait, I'm on the ground? My legs are so heavy... what the hell? Where am I? Consciousness slowly crawls its way back into my brain. I feel sick to my stomach, and my head is swimming. Someone's leaning over me and handing me my glasses. Sounds like something of bad end to a bender, right? Nope. That was the highlight of my visit to Dr. Glazeski. After the good doctor did a glaucoma test on one eye, I passed out and fell right out of the examining chair. I swear, they should put seat belts on those damned things. What led me to the doctor? I sought out a more professional eye doctor after a most shitty visit to Lenscrafters in Emeryville. I have horrid vision; my prescription is along the lines of -10.5 and -11. These "glasses in about an hour" type places have no idea what to do with me. Dr. Glazeski doesn't run a retail chain office, took my insurance, was local to my office, and could see me in fairly short notice. So how is it that I can give five stars to a doctor whose procedure reintroduced me to Mr. Sandman and Mr. Floor in one fell swoop? Easy. He let me lay there for 10 minutes while I tried to keep my cookies down, checking on me frequently, then explained that while he hadn't seen this kind of reaction before, he had recently read up on it, and promised that he'd be better prepared for next time. And a few weeks later, a photocopied article talking about what I went through, and ways to prevent it, appeared in my mail box. He's doing his homework. Also, he didn't even flinch at how bad my eyes are.

I can't agree enough with Paul. In fact, Paul's a friend of…read moremine, and I recommended he go to Dr. Glazeski. As someone who suffers from severe myopia, going to the eye doctor can be extremely traumatic for me. I have had fun poked at me, been subjected to "wow, that's REALLY BAD" comments, in other offices, by professionals. I went to Dr. Glazeski because he's in Alameda, and covered by my vision plan. When I told him I was -11 in one eye and -10 in the other, he said "I've seen wayyy worse. That's nothing." To someone who has worn glasses since they were 7 years old, these words are absolute gold. He was thorough, talked with me about different options (first dr. in a long time who wasn't in the pocket of a lasik surgeon and so gave me his honest opinion about it for someone in my condition), and was familiar with the latest technologies. I would pay to go to Dr. Glazeski even if I he didn't accept my insurance. He's that good.
