When I'm at a doctor's office, I want to know that they buy the most up-to-date equipment, and that they know how to use it. 2) The staff is very friendly. We can all admit that being at a dentist's office doesn't exactly put us in a great mood. The staff at Day Hill Dental understands that, and is very kind without being overbearing (i.e. without the fake smiles and cheeriness). 3) The care is excellent. My hygientist and dentist (Dr. Farber) quickly did the cleaning and exam, and thoroughly explained what was good and what wasn't so good. They also explained things in a non-judgmental way. I've been to far too many dentist offices where you feel like you're the kid who forgot his homework assignment. Not so here - they want you to take care of your teeth, but don't make you feel like you're a naughty kid being lectured. If you live in the area, I would highly recommend Day Hill Dental.

They take Delta Dental (always good for those of us with Delta Dental), and the hygienists know what they are doing, pointing out various issues with teeth and identifying cavities and problem areas. Dr. Bloom himself also has an excellent bedside manner (or is it chair-side?). He also gives helpful recommendations in the case one can't get back into his office in time (he was able to direct me to the UNC Dentristy school to get some cavities done). Also, they have that cool white cavity filler stuff that's always good fun :)

I called multiple offices in the area, many said they don't accept my insurance and a couple, including CT Periodontal and Implants Associates said they would accept. Someone from their office called and reviewed my out of pocket cost for the surgery and said I have to pay almost $200 out of pocket. When I went there, the doctor did a comprehensive gum exam (which was not what I was referred for) and they gave me papers to sign. They explained the values written here are before insurance and my insurance covers everything except $200. Just a few days before surgery, somebody called from their office and told me your insurance does not cover this operation which was a big lie!!! I asked whether I can cancel my appointment and the lady told me I have to pay a fine, as it is too close to the surgery date. She also told me they would give me a 200 discount if I pay it by check and not credit card (which again was a trick!!) I trusted them that my insurance does not cover this operation, and I accepted and paid $1000 with check. After the surgery, I got a new bill to pay $160 for a comprehensive exam, which was not what I had asked and was there for. They also billed me $200 more (actually there was no discount for paying with check!!!) The interesting part is that I called my insurance and realized that my insurance covers 80% of this operation and they are out of network!!! They literally lied to me, not just once but also many times!! Now they are sending me letters that they are reporting to credit. I have already paid $1000 for a procedure that would cost me $200 with insurance and they are still reporting my credit. Don't go to their offices!!

The problem wasn't pain, but rather the doctor's style: relentless and ruthless. For example, for over 30 minutes my body was shaking due to the anxiety caused by the way the procedure was being carried out (far too rough) but at no moment was there an acknowledgment of this or a suggestion of stopping until I was able to feel better. l left totally shuck up and upset.

Numerous and necessary visits: To extract the wounded, and in my case a bone graft, post-op check & template fitting, install of the implant, the last check, and finally, back to my dentist for a customized crown. No pain at all was felt or even discomfort while he injected the Novocain or while he did the surgery. I also appreciated the kindness of the front desk staff as well as Shannon the dental hygienist. The communication between Dr Guida and Shannon during the procedure did not go unnoticed. It was so nice to hear the Dr thanking her for things and her acknowledging his kindness. I would highly recommend anyone to not delay having a surgical procedure because of fear or anxiety, Dr. Guida is so gentle, kind and extremely professional. The only way to describe the hygienist is ham fisted. Two different hygienists. Two painful experiences. Not just my gums either my jaw hurts also. You have to ask for the gum numbing agent they won't voluntarily give it to you. However, the numbing won't help with the way they go about the cleaning. My bottom lip hurts from all the pressure she put on it while cleaning my front teeth.
