When faced with the need to take care of my gynecology needs, I did the old fashioned thing, that is, I asked ladies I know who they would suggest. Amazingly, in one day, two friends both recommended Dr. Jonathan Buten. Both had very impressive recommendations. When I went to my own primary care physician, I was very happy to learn that Dr. Buten was also one of her recommended physicians. A little over 8 months later, I've been through a great deal of events with Dr. Buten, ranging from basic checkup, diagnostic testing, to most recently, major surgery and I feel it is important to place my artifact into this digital format to share with others who face similar daunting decisions. Dr. Buten is personable, and interacted with me in a warm and caring manner. He is very thorough in every aspect of his work. He used technology to show me what was going on with my "innards" and explained the options. He listened to my questions, gave thoughtful answers, and I always felt that we were a team working towards my best outcome. Additionally, the staff is helpful and friendly. Star is a welcoing first point of contact for the office. When faced with making the decision for gynecological care, I highly encourage you to see Dr. Buten.

Dr. Buten was very specific in explaining risk factors, citing research, and statisics to allow me to make a very informed decision. The surgery was virtually painless (laparascopic hysterectomy and oophrectomy). I was mildly sore for a day, back to mild exercise in 2 days, and full activity in 5 days. Dr. Buten is very personable, sharing casual personal conversation, and he respected my opinions and concerns. He definitely met my high standards when I half-joked that he could come release me from the hospital before he went to his office, rather than waiting until noon...and he did!

She was a bit late less than 10 minutes. Now the cause for being late was the pain and walking slow. I'm sure if you have had these issues you know how painful it can be. She was turned away by this rude nurse named Gina. Stating it is not that far of a walk. Talk about compassion here! Now I am a clinical supervisor and for this nurse to still be in the patient care business is beyond my understanding. I demand all my nurses/MA's to respect the patient and put them first, our practice would never dream of turning away a patient either walk in or with appointment. I guess this place has really low work standards. I just hope their Dr. standards are higher. I can't comment on that since she was not seen.

This doctor saw me early morning on 6/29 sent samples to lab. At 2 pm the next day, July 1st ahe…read moreposted message in patient portal stating my results are positive for 2 infections and would send antibiotic & another medication to my pharmacy. Getting medication sent to pharmacy by other doctors is usually very quick so I was surprised to find out that they had not received anything from Dr Mirto at 4:30 pm. I called BSW Health Pflugerville to find out why but woman on phone said all she could do is leave an URGENT message for a call back with the nursing department. Thursday, July 2nd at noon still no prescription sent to pharmacy so I call BSW Health Pflugerville again for help, after 20 min on phone the woman transfers me to another female that seemed irritated that I was calling again by stating "your message was already sent to Dr. Mirto this morning!" - I asked why hasn't anyone reach out to me yet and she rudely said I will submit another "urgent" message but she must be busy with other patients! I also replied to Dr Mirrors original notice of my test results after we hung up pleading for help with getting my antibiotic asap. Today, Friday, July 3rd still nothing so again I try calling BSW Health but now there answering machine states the are closed for the 4th of July holiday!! Furious about the lack of concern by Dr Mirto and BSW staff, I sent tried calling the office number for Dr Mirto listed on my lab report - it is a number that is not available to patients looking online but only got an answering machine stating staff is unavailable so leave a message, which I did. I also googled the director of BSW Texas, and find an email for Peter McCain in Dallas and notified him of my horrific experience with this Dr Mirto and BSW Health Pflugerville but have yet to get a response from him. FINNALLY st just after 4:00 pm today, I got a call from BSW Doctor in Marble Falls stating that he was made aware of my issues and said he would send over my medication to pharmacy as we spoke on the phone! He asked why I didn't speak to BSW Patient Adviser/ Nurse which is available 24/7 - I informed him that that option was never available on their phone system, nor did any of the 3 different women I talked with at BSW offered that option. I asked him for that direct phone number but he didn't know it off the top of his head but he did sent me a patient portal message with the number. So if someone else every needs to reach BSW for help with medical issue that number he shared is 254-724-7037 or 1-800-724-7037. I plan to file a complaint with the Texas Medical Board against Dr Mirto's failure to follow through with appropriate patient care.
