When faced with the need to take care of my gynecology needs, I did the old fashioned thing, that is, I asked ladies I know who they would suggest. Amazingly, in one day, two friends both recommended Dr. Jonathan Buten. Both had very impressive recommendations. When I went to my own primary care physician, I was very happy to learn that Dr. Buten was also one of her recommended physicians. A little over 8 months later, I've been through a great deal of events with Dr. Buten, ranging from basic checkup, diagnostic testing, to most recently, major surgery and I feel it is important to place my artifact into this digital format to share with others who face similar daunting decisions. Dr. Buten is personable, and interacted with me in a warm and caring manner. He is very thorough in every aspect of his work. He used technology to show me what was going on with my "innards" and explained the options. As…read morea healthy, fitness-conscious person, it was difficult to submit to surgery that was not immediately medically necessary. Dr. Buten was very specific in explaining risk factors, citing research, and statisics to allow me to make a very informed decision. The surgery was virtually painless (laparascopic hysterectomy and oophrectomy). I was mildly sore for a day, back to mild exercise in 2 days, and full activity in 5 days. Dr. Buten is very personable, sharing casual personal conversation, and he respected my opinions and concerns. He definitely met my high standards when I half-joked that he could come release me from the hospital before he went to his office, rather than waiting until noon...and he did!

I am happy with my move to her and look forward to continuing my GYN care with her. 1. Her office staff is friendly-To smooth the first visit I went by a couple days in advance and picked the New Patient paperwork. Once I was back in an exam room a very friendly nurse worked with me to enter a detailed medical history. And I was taken back on time. 2. Dr. Dorsett and I talked some before I changed (I have a feeling that might change as we do established patient appts) and then came back to examine me. 3. Tests needed to be run, one was QUICKLY done in house and a script was called in, the other was sent off with results called back the next day. 4. If I needed supplements (I did) she had them and we are doing a follow up regarding some test results. She is not doing my BioTe pellets (they've been managed for almost 10 years by the office in Southlake that was training doctors--but I was her Guinea pig and I look forward to transferring my hormone care to her soon. 5. Finally, for those interested she has an in house Ideal Protein Leader. I did this diet with another doctor in 2010-11 and was quite successful. It isn't a diet for all, but her office is comprehensive, and the Leader seems supportive and caring. I look forward to working with her as (thanks to other health issues) I'm no longer following a healthy diet at all (!!!) and plan to talk with her again. Dr Dorsett is direct and business like. Don't come in prepared to be pampered. I didn't ask if she still delivers as I'm beyond that stage--however I liked the fact that I could come in with a list of questions, get them done, or get a plan together to move forward. The website is undergoing updates, so CALL. Also, she is open Monday thru Friday and stays pretty busy. I consider that a good thing. I happened to find out that a doctor friend went to school with her and thinks very highly of her. So far I'm thinking highly of her too. The office is located in the bldg attached to the Round Rock Hospital complex (to the immediate right) so you enter at the hospital entrance off of 620 and park in the parking lot to the right. I live nearby and even for me finding the exact location was a bit challenging. Going by early to get my paperwork allowed me to have a trial run getting there. Now I know exactly it is a good location. Note: if something isn't or is found during your preventative appt (outside of normal GYN issues that you want/need to discuss at that point) it does switch to a normal office visit. If that is an issue or you need better explanation of that office policy then call!

Dr. Rush may be competent, but the staff is a nightmare -- calls get hung up on, messages go unanswered, and even urgent situations are ignored. Appointments run more than an hour late, and even simple questions require another full visit. The nurses are kind, but the system is broken. Patients deserve better. You'll get more attention at a Planned Parenthood. Unless you enjoy being dismissed and disrespected, go elsewhere. They act like we're not paying customers here and in line for some kind of free government sponsored bread ration.

Meagan met with me and went over a lot of information include HRT and how our bodies change due to menopause and it is something we need to handle. She ordered detailed labs and then met with me to go over the results in detail. Most doctors don't do that. They put a note in your portal saying your results are fine even though you see some out of range. I started HRT in December 2025 and what a big difference it has made in my life. Then I decided to have my pap smear with Meagan since she takes the time to go over all the information and find solutions. She also ordered additional labs. Then met with me for 30 minutes to go over the lab results. Due some of the results, she ordered more test to be sure all was ok and continue to monitor my thyroid results. I'm so happy that she goes over everything and if she has any concerns request more tests. My last results were not good as it relates to my iron. Right away she sent in a prescription, requested for me to take a certain vitamin and to refer me to a hematologist for possible iron infusions. Since I'm a pancreatic cancer survivor, I already had a hematologist, so the office sent over my results. Sure enough, he ordered for me to have the infusion. I've had low iron since I finished radiation which the doctors knew but all I got was to take iron supplements with no follow-up. It's only because Meagan took the time to review the results, order tests, that I feel I'm finally getting the treatment I need. I can't wait to start the infusion. Maybe I will feel so much better with not being as tired or dizzy. If you ever feel like there is something wrong and you aren't getting the care you deserve regarding your hormones or labs, then go see Meagan. I'm so thankful I was referred to this practice and to Meagan. Also all their staff is amazing whether in person or when I call.
