I went to the OB Gyn for the first time, for my first pap smear. Not pregnant, not trying to get pregnant. Just doing a pap smear. I was early for my appt, and waited 45 minutes to be seen. The doctor spoke quickly with short words. I didn't feel like they really took time with me, I felt like they were in a rush. The process was rushed, and she did say what she was doing through it, but I still feel like I got herded like cattle. Is there a way to go to a gynecologist without the pregnancy part? That would make the visits less rushed for people who only need a gynecologist and have no plans of getting pregnant. read more

Dr Monteville delivered my son in 2022. I had frequent bladder infections throughout, and I had many red flags in my testing indicating infection of some sort.. She didn't care i guess. I ended up experiencing great pain after I delievered and I went to see a urologist, I ended up testing positive for Ureaplasma. Thank God I didn't just take her word for everything being "normal" So glad I trusted my body and other doctors who care more about money. Would not use her again for my next child. read more

I went this year for the first time to this practice and was blown away by C. Hamby's bedside manner. Hamby listened to me, asked questions and was thorough. Once my bloodwork was in, she went over every area and put it in simple terms for me. I am 4 weeks on vitamins/ 1 med and feeling like a new mom/woman/wife. She was right, just because you are a certain age, doesn't mean you have to feel like you are in a fog! read more

Worst experience during pregnancy. The office will lie and throw a hissy fit if you switch providers during the pregnancy. Unproffesional and Dr. V. Sherman will spend the entire appointment telling you how "normal" every symptom you're having is and dismiss any and all concerns you have. An outside party called regarding a note my husband gave after I ended care with them and they made up a bunch of things that weren't true and also violated HIPPA. DO NOT use this doctor they only care about the money involved and not patient care. read more

I'll start by saying I've been going here for years, and two of my three pregnancies, it USED to be a welcoming and comforting place. I believe Dr Sherman is very knowledgeable, but I've learned after my last experience, that I most likely will never return. I trusted in the dr wholeheartedly up until the point where professionalism & customers care was literally no where to be found at this business. I went in for my check up at 13 weeks pregnant, ready to find out the sex of our baby. They couldn't find a heartbeat so they moved me to the ultrasound room. After what felt like forever, I was told "I'm sorry Im just not seeing what I should be", I was left with "I'm going to have Karla call over to the hospital this morning and see if they can get you in, for a second opinion. Don't worry about making another appointment for now" (literally that was all that was said). Fast forward, I waited at home all day, never got a call. I called Karla (the MA) who told me she was too busy to call and schedule the appointment at the hospital. UNACCEPTABLE. I've seen how they operate, I've worked in a similar setting before and when someone's possibly miscarried, you don't put it off. I can't tell you how many times I called -- and of course they don't want to let you talk directly to the doctor (I get it, they're special and you're not). But over the weeks leading up to this, the MA made my life hell, I was tired of her giving me run arounds, bad advice, and not having any true knowledge or even just being HELPFUL in general! She gives no true effort, just excuses and bs reasons. I finally got an appointment after blowing up the office phone the rest of the afternoon, I wasn't having it when they let me go home thinking the worst and didn't even make it a priority to quickly call the hospital and request the appointment that morning! I went to my appointment where they can't tell me any results until they send it back over to Dr Sherman's office (the RN told me it would be over there no later than 11am. (I waited all day!!!! Calling and no one knew anything, including clueless Karla. I mean, I was in such a distraught state, because I believed I already was caring a dead baby in me. The next day I waited around town incase I needed to go in at the hospital, Around 2:30pm I got a automated text from the hospital, that I was scheduled for an appointment by my doctor for tomorrow at 6;30am (what I thought was for the D&C) but NO one called, not a word since I last contacted the office. So I mustered up the energy to call and figure out WTF is going on, for them to tell me Karla double booked me under the same name (two profiles), the appointment was not for a D&C it was for the ultrasound I already went to!!!! So now I'm confused as everything, I call and the office says they're busy and so I asked for the doctor to call me back rather than Karla because they knew at this point I was fed up with her "assistance". He tells me "I'm so sorry I JUST got your results and if you can, I can do the D&C TOMORROW AT 6am or __pm if your comfortable with that" IM SORRY WHAT. No apologies, no results read, no compassion or empathy. NOTHING!!!! & I tired stopping him in a calm way to explain my frustrations but I never expected for him to just blow me off like he did and be so oblivious to why I was ACTUALLY upset. He NEVER DID tell me "I'm sorry, you've lost your baby, this is the next steps" NO, I was given excuses and it felt like they just wanted to get me off the phones. Nothing was ever explained to me until I got to the hospital the next morning when he asked the charge nurse over text "I already talked to her about the procedure, what questions does she have still" (she showed me this after hearing my experience over the last 48hrs. Hell, she treated me better than anyone at GTWNOBGYN. IVE NEVER BEEN THOUGH SOMETHING LIKE THIS. But I was NOT signing shit until he covered everything I needed to know. It was probably the worst experience, it caused a lot of trauma for me, I felt alone, uncomfortable, uninformed, uncared for, unheard!!! As far as everything else, The office is okay, they're always behind usually 40-60min... waiting is okay at doctors but this is not ideal for clients (and for me unacceptable). They want you to be no later than 10-15 min late but will make YOU wait and hour without saying anything. The staff was pretty shitty at one point, the office manager has no customer relationship experience & is just a "yeah, okay, uh huh, thank you" type, like it's all good. They're probably overworked but this place needs something to change with staffing FOR SURE. I'll be finding another doctor after all of this, I know nothing will get done in a timely manner and there's too much room for error on their end. read more

I have been trying to get an appointment for almost 2 business weeks. I have a referral that has sat there and they say "it's a process". I have called 3 times to check the status...once was told "we don't have it" when I knew good and well they did. After I told her the date it was sent over, she blamed it on the dr being out of town, the dr was only out of town for 1 day. I have asked my PCP for a referral elsewhere. This is terrible. I got hung up on and never got a call back. It's like they don't speak good English. It's like they can say whatever they want because the calls aren't recorded. I was seen here for my first child. Initially I loved my care here! But when I was 35 weeks pregnant there were major complications with my baby that were not seen. Example- baby was only weighing in at 2lbs and should have been at least five. Had a major heart defect (left side smaller than right, along with a hole in the heart, and valves not functioning properly). We were rushed to the hospital after a devastating ultrasound in which my doctor had missed these very clear signs. I remember constantly telling my doctor I was feeling little to no fetal movement. He also was surprisingly born having down syndrome. (There are many signs from physically looking at an ultrasound in which you can see that a child has down syndrome). My doctor had not noticed these signs in which all OB's should be educated on looking for these signs. It was absolutely devastating. We spent our first 3 mo in the NICU with our baby fighting for his life. No follow up from my doctor within those couple of weeks I was in the hosptial recovering and staying with my baby. I had complications with my emergency C-section and now I can only have C-sections because of the unique incision that was done to get my baby out ASAP because his heart was failing. There were also situations when I was healing in which were very emergent where the on-call number never worked. I would leave my number and receive no call back. I ended up calling a family known doctor and going to the emergency room for treatment. When I had my in-person follow up postpartum to check on my incision, there was little help about my possible hernia and I did not feel cared for at all. The doctor seemed to have little to no empathy for all that I had experienced while under her care. I understand that doctors are human too, and that mistakes can happen. But this was just not professional. I would not recommend because I do not want anyone else to be overlooked like I was. I know it was not purposeful, but obviously there needs to be some refreshing or renewed schooling on basics of ultrasound and key components of red flags for high risked pregnancies. read more

Worst place ever! I waited to post this review a month post my surgery because I needed my results first. Iml first start by letting woman know only go here for OB clinic and not GYN services. They DO NOT care about their patients. My first visit was on August for a biopsy (high risk cancer cells) I waited close to 2 hrs before being seen and another 40 minutes because she left me naked mid check up to see other OB patients. Had to cancel my other appointment because they took up my while morning. Once she got my results and said I need a surgery to contact Michelle, that took weeks to schedule. I had to be on too of them to schedule me.. smh. Once I got schedule my pre-op was schedule again at their office a week prior to surgery. Well that never happened. I was at that office a total of 3 hours while she saw every pregnant woman even with appointments after mine, as I froze in a room without a nurse checking on me nor updating me on the dr' whereabouts. Finally after I spoke up and came out the room looking for the doctor they told me she had left for an Emergency with a preggo female and totally forgot about me. I live an hour away from this office and if it wasn't because I was high risk and in fast need of this surgery I was going to cancel it. So I had my surgery with information I had to research and post care I called my primary doctor about. Doctor eventually called me 4 hrs after my appoint and asked "are we still doing your surgery?!" Not even an apology!! Very unprofessional. Never had a seen a clinic with such bad services and uncaring of their patients. But they were quick to charge me $500. I had issues post op that not even their emergency contact line got back to me. Total incompetence all around in this location. Again ONLY persons they worry about are their pregnant patients. I since found an amazing and understanding clinic to follow up on my care. Look elsewhere for GYN needs! read more

If you want to feel like you and your baby are last priority I definitely recommend this office! I voiced my concerns on a Friday about some serious things going on around 2pm and had to call them back at 4pm because no one even cared and called me back ! My doctor decided to blame it on my nausea and the nurse told me well you can go to the hospital.(mind you Dr.Montiville was going on vacation for a month after Friday so why would she care when she wants to live it up and not worry about her patients ) I ended up going to the hospital a few days later finding out I had two infections! One that can cause a miscarriage and preterm labor! Thank you so much Doctor Montville for not caring about my baby or my health! My cervix was beyond swollen after I voiced to her that it was low and I had a bulge! But she insisted it was because I was puking and dry heaving when I didn't eat for days and I had nothing to throw up and I didn't even throw up but yet she still insisted that's what caused it! In reality I had a lot more problems going on. So if you really wanna feel like no one cares about you including going to a dirty office be my guest! But if you want to be treated correctly I definitely recommend Womens renaissance group in Austin Texas! Also if I could give 0 stars I would in a heart beat ! read more

Decided to try an OB/GYN closer to home for convenience...bad idea. Everyone I had contact with was pleasant, however the way things are run and handled is terrible. I had full blood work and labs run 4 weeks ago and have not seen the results. I did receive a message that my vit D was low but everything else was fine. I've contacted the office twice and requested my full lab results posted to my portal or sent to me by mail. No response from the office. I've never had blood work done where I wasn't able to view the full results in 24-48 hours. 4 weeks is absurd. Some additional things were tested with the blood work and the office was supposed to call me to set up an appointment to discuss future treatment options and they have yet to do this as well. Not interested in going to an office where I have to contact the office multiple times for basic things. I would not recommend and I will not be returning. read more

I love Dr John Sherman and his entire office staff. Everyone is so friendly and helpful, and it's mice to be recognized whenever I come in. It makes me feel like they really pay attention to their work! Appointments do run behind-sometimes I have waited 45 minutes to 1 hour to be seen, but I understand and realize the kind of appointments that are going on take a while and he's a busy, busy man. Dr John Sherman is so helpful and kind and patient whenever I have any concerns. It feels good to have a doctor that doesn't just brush off my concerns (unlike my last doctor!) I have nothing but positive things to say about Dr Vincent Sherman. Probably one of the nicest MDs I have ever see. However, terrible problems with billing. I confirmed several times that the practice was an accepted provider for my insurance. They are part of the Blue Card system for BCBS. However, the bills are processed through Unified Women's Heath Care of Texas. This group is not part of the BCBS network. So despite confirming that the clinic is an in-network provider, they actually are not. read more

Dr. John Sherman delivered my third child 6 years ago and I've been going to him ever since. He took excellent care of me during my pregnancy, performed my third c-section without any issues, and has continued to provide me with my well woman's exams. Dr. Kelly Montiville is the absolute best! I have been seeing her for about 8 years now and she is amazing! She is very kind and very attentive. She doesn't make anything uncomfortable or awkward. She always answers all my questions and is very knowledgeable! She always reassures me of things and always helps me feel better with her kind words! I now live an hour away and I still commute to see her! My mom, her friends and a few of my friends go to her as well! I wouldn't recommend anyone else!! She will birth my babies one day! Dr. John Sherman is the best doctor I've had so far! He keeps an I eye on any concerns I have without trying to charge me for every little thing! I can trust him to take my concerns seriously, and treat me with the utmost respect. I really cannot recommend him enough! He's a good man that you can tell honestly cares, and his nurse, Gloria, is amazing! She is on top of everything, and I know I can call and ask her a question any time. If you don't want to go in, you can just call and talk to her about your issues. Maybe you don't have to take off work to go get your UTI looked at! The best time to make your appointment for is 1pm or towards the end of the day, like 3:45 or 4pm. They do get pretty busy, which is only a testament to how great they are! read more

The meanest unprofessional front desk! This has happened multiple time with the front desk. I have heard amazing reviews from these doctors but so disappointed how the front desk treated my wife. I'm NOT rating the doctors because I know they are great doctors but I can't believe how hard it is and the attitude the front desk people have. I totally will erase this post but they have to address this issue. I don't want my wife to go to another Obgyn because I know they are good doctors but I doubt she will want to go now with this group. Was a new patient at this facility the beginning of March 2020. Went in met with Dr. Montiville, she took some blood work and made a second apt for follow up. I paid the amount I was told before I checked out. 2 weeks later and a coronavirus outbreak, I called about my apt that day and asked since it was just a follow up on blood work could I do it over the phone or virtual instead trying to respectful to others. I was told they needed to check my eligibility and call me back. Someone calls me back and says I have a past due balance of $54 and that if I wanted to see the dr. I had to pay it. I informed them that I had not received a bill for it and how could it be past due? I was told this is office policy and that I would be denied services if I didn't pay the balance before my apt. I said are you kidding me? We are in the middle of a pandemic and people are losing their jobs left and right and I can't even find out my test results unless I pay you immediately. I don't want to trust my health to a Dr. or clinic that puts money over a patients health. Funny thing is I would have paid the bill as soon as I got it. I will not take unnecessary risks during this time just so you get 54 dollars today. Your policy just lost you the rest of the revenue you would have gotten from me becoming a regular patient. Very disappointing and I will not be back. read more

All throughout my pregnancy, birthing, and post partum experience he and the staff were nothing but professional, caring, and funny. Wait times can get a little long not going to lie. Expect to spend some time here because they really do have a lot of patients. I am actually sad that I wont be coming back to see them every month anymore. I have always loved Dr. Montiville - she is great and takes the time to listen and do a thorough examination. Unfortunately today was my last day there. I have had an appointment for over a couple of months now. I was called by the impatient office staff last week asking me to change the appointment time but I was unable to change it to the afternoon and I explained I had taken the morning off of work to make this. I agreed to delay the appointment by 2 hours. Went in this morning for the appointment only to be told, "Unfortunately we don't take this type of insurance anymore." Wait, the same insurance I had last time I came? "Yes, we probably let you since you were an established patient, but we don't take it anymore." So... "Sorry." I really am struggling to understand why this wasn't established before I came. I have had another doctor stop taking my insurance before and they called me BEFORE the appointment to verify the appointment and check my insurance so this didn't happen. I am sad I can't see Dr. Montiville anymore and frustrated that there was no common courtesy to let me know their insurance approvals had changed. read more

Mocking me to the other receptionist as I requested my records due to my husband being stationed in Hawaii and the other receptionist laughing. I posted a review previously on their site and it has since disappeared. My 18 year old grand daughter received all of her prenatal care from Dr. John Sherman. At 39 weeks and 2 days she went to the local ER with severe back pain. I live 4 hours from her and she panicked. She was transferred from the local ED to St Davids Georgetown for evaluation since that is where she was to deliver (this is 1 hour and 10 minutes from her home). I arrived just after her admission, She was having contractions still 9 minutes apart, delivery did not seem immanent, she was evaluated and diagnosed as dehydrated and sent home to rehydrate and rest. The instructions were as expected, stay home until contractions are 3-4 minutes apart for more than 3 hours and lasting longer than 1 minute. I drove her home and stayed with her. She continued to have contractions all throughout the night staying regular, gaining in severity and lasting longer so we were sure that this could actually turn into real labor. She progressed to 3 minutes apart and lasting 90 seconds in length and gaining in severity. this had lasted for more than 30 hours total now and with her youth she was starting to have a hard time controlling her breathing. Since we were over an hour away and her contractions had been in the "required" duration and consistency of 3 hours or more, we left for Georgetown. We arrived and the nursing staff was professional and caring. After examination she was only dilated to a 2 with 80% effacement. Dr. Vincent Sherman was on call for Dr. John Sherman. The nurse was a wonderful advocate for my grand daughter. Explaining to him that she was exhausted, lived and extended distance and even though she was only dilated to a 2 she was contracting as per the previous requirements. His response was She is not at 40 weeks and her water has not broken. Send her home. The nurse again advocated that I disagreed with those orders ( I am not a doctor but as a mother of 4 my water never broke on its own and babies don't read rule books) We would have another 2 hours of driving ( there and back) and the risks of an accident or road side delivery was greater. He still refused to admit her. So she was discharged home. Instead of going home I found that there was a hospitalist on duty at St Davids North Womens Center, it was 11 miles away. It took us 17 minutes to get there, they immediately evaluated her and admitted her. She had dilated to a 6 in the time that it took us to drive there. The doctor came in, took 1 look at her, had her admitted and an epidural in place within 45 minutes. A few hours later we had a healthy baby, born in a hospital. Oh and the nurse midwife broke her water 1 hour before birth. The hospital staff treated her as if she were their only patient and remained in disbelief that she was sent away by Dr. Vincent Sherman. We will forever be grateful for the hospital staff that listened to the patient and not his arrogant knowledge. read more

They lost her results, they lied about it (they said she never did it, but I was sitting right there when as well) and were unwilling to forward information to our new clinic. Always waited an hour and a half to be seen for 5 minutes. Front office staff is very rude! Dolores the older Spanish lady was always condescending and rude. I had to leave after only a few visits because Each visit was becoming more and more stressful and simply not worth the hassle. read more
