When faced with the need to take care of my gynecology needs, I did the old fashioned thing, that is, I asked ladies I know who they would suggest. Amazingly, in one day, two friends both recommended Dr. Jonathan Buten. Both had very impressive recommendations. When I went to my own primary care physician, I was very happy to learn that Dr. Buten was also one of her recommended physicians. A little over 8 months later, I've been through a great deal of events with Dr. Buten, ranging from basic checkup, diagnostic testing, to most recently, major surgery and I feel it is important to place my artifact into this digital format to share with others who face similar daunting decisions. Dr. Buten is personable, and interacted with me in a warm and caring manner. He is very thorough in every aspect of his work. He used technology to show me what was going on with my "innards" and explained the options. He listened to my questions, gave thoughtful answers, and I always felt that we were a team working towards my best outcome. Additionally, the staff is helpful and friendly. Getting medication sent to pharmacy by other doctors is usually very quick so I was surprised to find out that they had not received anything from Dr Mirto at 4:30 pm. I called BSW Health Pflugerville to find out why but woman on phone said all she could do is leave an URGENT message for a call back with the nursing department. Thursday, July 2nd at noon still no prescription sent to pharmacy so I call BSW Health Pflugerville again for help, after 20 min on phone the woman transfers me to another female that seemed irritated that I was calling again by stating "your message was already sent to Dr. Mirto this morning!" - I asked why hasn't anyone reach out to me yet and she rudely said I will submit another "urgent" message but she must be busy with other patients! I also replied to Dr Mirrors original notice of my test results after we hung up pleading for help with getting my antibiotic asap. Today, Friday, July 3rd still nothing so again I try calling BSW Health but now there answering machine states the are closed for the 4th of July holiday!! Furious about the lack of concern by Dr Mirto and BSW staff, I sent tried calling the office number for Dr Mirto listed on my lab report - it is a number that is not available to patients looking online but only got an answering machine stating staff is unavailable so leave a message, which I did. I also googled the director of BSW Texas, and find an email for Peter McCain in Dallas and notified him of my horrific experience with this Dr Mirto and BSW Health Pflugerville but have yet to get a response from him. FINNALLY st just after 4:00 pm today, I got a call from BSW Doctor in Marble Falls stating that he was made aware of my issues and said he would send over my medication to pharmacy as we spoke on the phone! He asked why I didn't speak to BSW Patient Adviser/ Nurse which is available 24/7 - I informed him that that option was never available on their phone system, nor did any of the 3 different women I talked with at BSW offered that option. I asked him for that direct phone number but he didn't know it off the top of his head but he did sent me a patient portal message with the number. So if someone else every needs to reach BSW for help with medical issue that number he shared is 254-724-7037 or 1-800-724-7037. I plan to file a complaint with the Texas Medical Board against Dr Mirto's failure to follow through with appropriate patient care.

Meagan met with me and went over a lot of information include HRT and how our bodies change due to menopause and it is something we need to handle. She ordered detailed labs and then met with me to go over the results in detail. Most doctors don't do that. They put a note in your portal saying your results are fine even though you see some out of range. I started HRT in December 2025 and what a big difference it has made in my life. Then I decided to have my pap smear with Meagan since she takes the time to go over all the information and find solutions. She also ordered additional labs. Then met with me for 30 minutes to go over the lab results. Due some of the results, she ordered more test to be sure all was ok and continue to monitor my thyroid results. I'm so happy that she goes over everything and if she has any concerns request more tests. My last results were not good as it relates to my iron. Right away she sent in a prescription, requested for me to take a certain vitamin and to refer me to a hematologist for possible iron infusions. Since I'm a pancreatic cancer survivor, I already had a hematologist, so the office sent over my results. Sure enough, he ordered for me to have the infusion. I've had low iron since I finished radiation which the doctors knew but all I got was to take iron supplements with no follow-up. It's only because Meagan took the time to review the results, order tests, that I feel I'm finally getting the treatment I need. I can't wait to start the infusion. Maybe I will feel so much better with not being as tired or dizzy. If you ever feel like there is something wrong and you aren't getting the care you deserve regarding your hormones or labs, then go see Meagan. I'm so thankful I was referred to this practice and to Meagan. Also all their staff is amazing whether in person or when I call.

Where do I begin? I would give zero stars if I could. I went to Dr. Pagete due to having a fibroid…read moreI wished to have removed. I also had a LOT of symptoms. When I explained my symptoms I don't think she listened very much. I then had a hysteroscopy to remove my fibroid. The day after I went to the ER and much to much surprise, the fibroid was still there, alone with a cyst. I went to see her six weeks later and told her about my excessive bleeding, the fact that my uterus seemed to have tilted overnight, and of course my fibroid the exact same size. She brushed off ALL of my symptoms (and did not respond to my questions on the patient portal) and refused to do a sonogram to look at the fibroid again. She said she'd look at it three months later, when I think she would have blamed it growing back on time and not her surgery error. She also, without even looking at my cyst, said it was nothing. Fast forward to two months later when I go to the ER in extreme pain. I still have my giant fibroid and that cyst they think twisted but untwisted. I finally got see a credible doctor, and he tells me the type of fibroid I have cannot be surgically removed with a hysteroscopy. He said even the best surgeon can't because it's intramural with a slight submucosal bulge. He said she managed to shave 2 cm off one side, but I still had a 5x6x4 fibroid. He also said she wasted my money attempting that surgery and she should have known that, that fibroid could not be removed and shaving one side down would give no relief of symptoms. Also, the cyst she said was nothing, was now 5 cm too. So I essentially have a cantaloupe in me. My awesome new doctor preformed a Da Vince surgery and low and behold, I had endometriosis so bad my uterus was fused to my colon and he almost had to remove part of my colon. He said that's why my uterus tilted and she shouldn't have ignored me when I mentioned it. Second, I had stage 4 endometriosis which explains all my other symptoms she ignored. Third, my ovarian cyst was so bad my ovary and fallopian tube had to be removed. The doctor said it was a mess in there. That's the cyst she said was nothing. And everything else she said was nothing. Not to mention I wasted $5000 on a surgery that couldn't even help me to begin with. I considered a medical malpractice suit but after all that I just don't have the energy. I had a follow up appointment with her that I cancelled via voicemail, and she sent me a bill for a no show fee that's illegal. I cancelled with plenty of time it's not my fault they don't check the voicemail. So no, she will not be getting that money, especially since I had to have a second surgery two months later before I died of blood loss.
