So far, so good! My engine light came on yesterday and that was accompanied by intense shaking and rattling in the car. I had to have my car towed home, pretty scary and not fun at all. I found this place literally early this morning, called, they told me to come in. Got there, William was great, and I forgot the mechanic. But he was nice as well. William later called with an update, it was the engine coil, he gave me a pretty reasonable quote around $200-ish bucks. My repair was done within the hour AND came under the price he quoted. As long as they continue to give fair and kind service, they will have a consistent customer in me! So wonderful, especially with some recent looming travel coming up, and great not to feel like they'd try to take advantage of me because I'm a woman. Super rude and unprofessional . Called a week in advance to make sure he would be able to do the job I was looking for , he said yes . Called again to make sure and he says "yes bring it tomorrow 8am". I had my spouse take the item because we just needed installation . This review has been a long time coming - I have only been here twice, once two years ago for body work to a car I accidentally hit and second just over a week ago to fix my 2002 Mercedes ML500. I found Stepan's Automotive thru searching yelp both times and can attest that the service here is worthy and respectful. William is honest and both times I have been taken care of with my budget in mind. He worked me a super cash deal to repair the other car instead of using my insurance and then recently took my Mercedes in last minute of the day and had me driving by the next morning. Enter on Cole St. Had first gone to the Toyota dealership where they told me to call insurance bc my bumper repair could cost as much as $4k and that I needed an oil seal/gasket repair and new tires? Knew I should get a second opinion and was very happy I talked to William -- he felt honest from the beginning and told me that I could either get a whole new bumper for $650 or he could just push it back onto the car for $50. He also explained that I could wait a couple months until the rainy season for my tires and showed me exactly what they meant about the oil seal/gasket thing, which can apparently wait until my next oil change. When your biggest complaint about a body shop is that when they detailed your car for free after they repaired it, they threw away the pile of water bottles in your back seat that you were planning on recycling, I think you have found a keeper. I was in an accident several weeks ago which cause a lot of front end damage. I originally took my car to Schiro's to get an estimate. I hated Schiro's so much that I actual booed an advertisment for it before settling in to mock "New Moon." Schiro's = more boo worthy than "New Moon." Believe it. Anyway... a few friends of mine had recommended Ori's for repairs. Ori's however, said they do major body work out of Stepan's. At Stepan's I was greeted by William Robles. William was very nice, efficient and honest. He took one look at my car and realized that the adjustor (surprise!) had missed several key items, like my two broken headlights and my mangled grill. He told me that he could repair the car as quickly as the adjustor could get down to review the damage. That took three days, which conicidentally is how many days insurance covered the rental. After the adjustor finally did her job, William fixed the car in no time. I picked it up this morning and it looks good as new. I would recommend these guys to anyone. FYI, they specialize in Mercedes, but I have a Dodge and they didn't flinch at my silly American made car. So remember, Schiro's= Boo! Stepan's = Delights! read more

My husband scratched my new Mercedes by accident, I looked at other shops and they said it could be done in at least 3 days. William finished in 1 day!! I recently had a small mishap in a friend's car and decided to pay for a replacement bumper cover for her new Prius out of pocket instead of getting insurance involved. The local Toyota dealership recommended Network Auto Body because they don't do body work. Network was professional and their work may be good, but their quote was almost double what it ended up costing me to get the work done at Stepan's and they wanted to keep the vehicle for two days, meaning I'd need to pay even more to rent a car. William at Stepan's gave me a much better deal and instead of having me leave the vehicle there, ordered the bumper cover after I left a deposit and had it painted without my needing to leave the car there. He then had it installed a couple days later while I waited in less than an hour. Great service! I highly recommend them. read more

Just look through the reviews here they all speak for themselves. William his brother and Alberto are stand up guys who do a good job and are honest. I never had any major maintenance done, just tune-up's/oil changes etc...However a lot of people don't know about their car wash/detail services. I'm really picky about where I take my vehicle as I used to wash it myself (and I'm talking finger nailing all the micro-spots and bird poo in every nook and cranny paranoid ). When they say hand wash, it really is hand washed. They use high quality soaps and materials but the best part is that when the car is washed and ready it still maintains the smoothness of the natural paint's gloss. Other car washes recklessly use sturdy cotton materials that accumulate light scrapes over paint and strip down the gloss. I know this sounds super picky but these things get more noticeable over the years. I always take my civic here for a wash, I used to work right next door so for the last few months to my dismay have not been able to take my car here but I recently found out they are open on Saturdays as well. I was looking for a mechanic so I picked this place based on the yelp reviews. Could not be happier. They replaced my radiator quickly for a fair price. After I left I had a problem with my car alarm. I couldn't get the car to start. I was about a half mile away at that point. They sent a guy to come to me to take a look at it. He got the car started and sent me on my way. No extra charge. The issue with the alarm had nothing to do with them. Love this place. It's super reasonable for an oil change (like $40ish for my Honda Fit if I remember correctly), and last time I was there they even buffed some scuffs out of my bumper free of charge. I've never felt like they are trying to overcharge me at all. One time I even asked them to install a new air filter and they said I didn't need one. read more

I have a 2010 Toyota Prius and got rear-ended on the freeway. The driver did not want to get insurance involved so I was looking for a professional and well priced repair shop. I got two other estimates in the area (one from the auto repair that my service dealership recommended) and they were both higher than the quote I received at Stepan's. WIlliam, a mechanic at Stepan's, explained what they were going to need to do and the pricing. Turned out that I did not need to replace the bumper but the Pearl White color was a difficult color to repaint (needs three different coats), so that made it more expensive and laborious. Still the quote was significantly lower than the others I received. They were very accommodating with dates for the repair and stated that when I drop my car off, they will have Enterprise Rental come pick me up and take me to their nearest location, which is three minutes away. When I dropped my car off, Enterprise was not answering the phone (I guess they are very busy on Monday mornings), so William offered to have one of his employees drive me over immediately. Enterprise also gave me a discount for working with Stepan's. My car was ready in two days! Enterprise dropped me off at Stepan's after returning the rental car, and I arrived to see my perfectly repaired (and clean) car. It looked brand new! William honored the original quote and made sure I was completely satisfied before I drove away. Thank you, Stepan's! It has been one week since the repair and I am very very happy! read more
