So often i have ordered arrangements by phone or online and have had no idea what the final product that was being delivered looked like. A tiny, triangular-shaped flower shop with a lovely array of flowers available by the stem...most very affordable, around $3 a flower, with some fancier ones too. Also some very interesting blooms and bud type things that are not exactly 'flowers'. The owner is very kind and helpful and does not seemat all miffed if your bouquet budget is on the low side. As mentioned previously, the flowers last a long time and are wrapped up sweetly with a hand-made tag. If someone stopped here and got me a little bouquet on their way home from work, it would just make my day! read more

We ordered a boutineer and corsage (except one that could be pinned in my wife's hair) from here and they came out really nice. We didn't really know what we were looking for, but they managed to come up with something stylish and cool. The shop is beautiful, selling lots of interesting flowers and some art and pottery too. It was $45 total for the two pieces, which felt a little expensive for flowers, but, then again, I don't buy a lot of flowers. The price was probably fine. Rado is a really nice guy. read more

I received the loveliest bouquet on Friday. The delivery man was charming and the flowers were amazing and beautifully presented in brown tissue with a red ribbon. I was sad the peonies only lasted a couple of days and the rest are on their last legs today. I would have loved to have received those directions to extend their beauty that other people have mentioned getting when they pick up flowers. Also, I'm a sentimental girl and like to keep cards to remember special moments such as this one, but the card I got was clearly written by someone to whom English is not their first language, so the message got twisted up a bit and did not reflect my sweethearts true intention. Regardless of these two issues, I would definitely buy from this shop again purely for the flowers and I would ask for information on care and do my best to make sure the message was written as I intended. read more

Among the things I love about Stem is that their flower displays are not hidden in coolers, but artfully displayed on tables in the middle. everything I've gotten from Stem has been beautiful and perfect. They can do any size arrangement -- and whatever size it is, it will be a work of art. The owners make the whole experience delightful. As a surprise-treat, a friend from out of town called in an order for my birthday--and then had me stop at the shop on my walk home. I was asked to pick my favorite flowers, and the owner put them together in a dreamy arrangement. Best present! I went in once and asked for a small arrangement appropriate for a funeral/loss, but one that wouldn't look at all "funerally" ... it was spot on--and by far the nicest arrangement my grandmother received--the only one she kept in her house. I was presented with a very small (beautiful -- but very small) bouquet that I might feel comfortable paying $45 for, Never again. I had the good sense to use Stem as the florist for my wedding last month. I usually think that wedding flowers are boring and end up being a huge waste of money but the flowers that I got from Stem were so stunningly beautiful and effortless they pulled the whole day together. The guests couldn't stop talking about them!! Delgis (the owner) listened to exactly what I wanted and exactly what I didn't want and then created the perfect arrangements. She practically read my mind. The price was beyond reasonable and the flowers were delivered perfectly on time - she even came to the hotel to hand deliver the bridal party bouquets herself! A great little flower shop. Like another reviewer wrote below, I was attracted to the shop because of what I saw through the window while looking for antiques. When I stepped in I was surprised to find it was a flower shop and by how it was layed out. The flowers are not in your face, they are artfully arranged in the center of the shop, on a table and on the floor, and it's not overwhelming, so for a very small place it is still very calming and you can take your time to look around. The owner is very nice and was helpful when I was trying to pick a flower or combination of flowers. He also wrapped the small arrangement in a nice, understated way, something my girlfriend ended up appreciating. While the flowers were kind of expensive, I understand the ones I chose were an uncommon, imported breed. I believe the single stem roses and other such flowers are more manageable there. All together, a very pleasant experience. read more

Stem, is an overinflated flower shop. The cost of flowers was exorbitant for the quality and arrangement. Those who have rated this store at 5 stars have much to learn about floral services offered by other qualified florists. A 60.00 dollar bouquet with a 6 inch diameter of flowers and filler is paltry in comparison to what other florists whom service clients in the manhattan and brooklyn area. For the same cost a person can find a much better and more fragrant arrangement, delivered on time to the person's desired recipient. I think the florist is rather cheap and arrogant to use a recently gentrified neighborhood clientele in selling his inflated tastes! read more

Sorry I can't support this local merchant. Agree with several reviews below, that find this shop more expensive and unresponsive to customer requests. What I can say,uncatagorically is, that Rado doesn't do as he says nor is he well suited as a flower arranger. Ordered an anthurium arrangement that was to be festive and cheerful. I was presented with (3) 4 inch flowers thrown in along with a few less than fresh, Pin Cushion Protea that looked like "I could have done it". When I questioned the $100 Manhattan like pricing, he agreed to credit my card that he had charged BEFORE I arrived! Nevermind, that 1/2 hour before I came in, the small water filled vase arrangement (rather than planted in medium) wasn't even ready (I called ahead). It apparently took him all of five minutes to put it all together! Five days later, no credit to my card requiring a call to the card company.There's always a reason that an owner doesn't respond to customer's reviews on this site. Sometime the obvious reasons happen to be true. read more
