We first learned about Wise Choice through Yelp, and although we were initially nervous about choosing a contractor for such a large job (they gave us the best estimate, by far!) without a personal recommendation, we couldn't be happier with our decision. They were great to work with throughout the entire process, from architectural and engineering plans, permitting, and the actual construction. The project manager, Sergiy, and foreman, Bogdan, were very honest, helpful, and responsive every step of the way. The project was completed pretty much on budget (with only a couple of unforeseen issues outside of their control) and on time. We love the results, and several people have commented that the addition looks like it should have been there all along. We can't recommend Wise Choice highly enough!

We contacted eight…read moredifferent contractors to just get a fence quote and only a handful of them actually got back to us. One even gave us a quote and when I called to book the job, they never called back. We found Steve's website online and he called us back within a day, was out to do the quote with in a few days after that and started the job within about a week! He was prompt, professional and not afraid of technology (I.e he knew how to respond via email--which was great because then we didn't play phone tag.) He used quality lumber from a local company, got the job done on time and delivered high quality work. His quote was just a bit less than other quotes (yea!), but generally all the quotes we got were in the same ballpark. So it was really his promptness, communication and professionalism that sold us. The site was clean and orderly after they left and we came home to a beautiful cedar fence. I especially like the gate design. If we ever re-do our deck or extend the fence line, Cedar River will be our first call. I'd recommend Steve's work to anyone!

Cedar River Construction did a great job on both projects! Alfredo's fence team removed our old fencing, built our new fence, and was eager to satisfy us. Adam's deck team did a great job of removing our old painted deck boards and deteriorating wood handrails, completed minor repairs and upgrades to the existing support structure, and installed beautiful new Trex deck boards and handrails. Very sorry to say we had a very bad experience with Jim as our builder. He is a very nice man but…read moredid not delivery as expected. Jim gave us an initial quote in writing for our small addition of $87,000 to $100,000. We made no changes to the initial plan other than changing from an expensive trifold sliding glass door to the deck to a much cheaper French door. We spent about $15,000 dollars on permits and electrical box upgrade and paid Jim and his interior designer about $1,500. After all this Jim gave us a more detailed quote of $225,000 which did not include interior finishings or taxes. When we asked Jim how could the quote change so drastically he had no explanation. We then told him that it didn't make sense to continue the project at a cost of over $2,000 a square foot. HIs only response was " Understood".

The finished result exceeded our expectations -- this outdoor living space has truly been a blessing for our family. Rain or shine, there's not a day we don't use it. We've hosted countless family game nights and gatherings here, and I'm genuinely grateful for this space every single day. Tim's responsiveness throughout the project was amazing, which is rare to find these days. I am a perfectionist and expect the same of Contractors. I found only a few VERY MINOR issues along the way, but Tim and his excellent crew were right on it! Many months after the project had been finished, we requested a minor repair to our siding that was NOT even part of their work. They came up yesterday and fixed it for us! They went above and beyond! Also, we had a request for a unique fold-out shelf for feeding birds (which we make sure is never available to bears!). Tim designed something that works perfectly. What an unexpectedly unprofessional experience I had with Anas of Petra Decks. He wants others to…read moreaccommodate him, but he will not accommodate you. At first he seemed kind, we had a lovely conversation and related on many subjects, but he was also very impatient, inconsistent and rude. He lied to me saying he waited 20 minutes at our gate which was untrue based on our texts, then he blocked me due to his own mistakes. This seems to be a theme with him. When I connected with him at the end of June this year we booked a 5pm time slot for him to view the property and at 5:06pm the day of the appointment he texts me saying he had to reschedule because he forgot his phone. I was confused, but I gave him a chance because life happens. Finally he was able to come and do a quote. He came to the property, he wasn't on time but it didn't bother me. We had a great conversation when he came where I thought I had found the perfect guy to build our deck. Then later he texted saying he needed to do some more measurements, I asked when; then he said actually it's ok he doesn't need to do measurements anymore. Then some time passed and he said he actually did need to do more measurements. So we had to arrange to meet again, but that was a very busy time for me so it was delayed. Finally we agreed on today, to which he said he'd come to our property at 2-3pm; then he confirmed he would be here at around 3pm. I rearranged my plans and agreed. Then at around half past 2 he said he would be at the property in "around 30 minutes" for measurements, which would be around 3pm, but because he came 10 minutes early and I was in the restroom so I didn't reply to his text of being here 10 minutes earlier. At 3:00 I saw his texts where he said he had arrived (early) and said "I'm leaving bye" at 3pm... the time he had said he would arrive originally. He said he was waiting at our gate for 20 minutes which was a lie, he was waiting for 10 because he was early, and I did not expect that. I was in the restroom as well briefly thinking he would arrive at 3. He lied about the situation and blocked me even though I apologized for being in the bathroom, despite this situation not being my fault. Because I had thought he was a gracious understanding and compassionate man, many reviews paint him as a kind man as well. But he has so little patience, and a terrible attitude. Maybe he was just in a bad mood today, I don't know. It doesn't mean I should've been treated this way. All I wanted was a deck and what I got was disrespect.

We discussed what we wanted and a proposal was provided within 2 hours. The price was reasonable as I had gotten a proposal from another fence company. They were able to schedule to have the fence built in the same week. The only issue was that the crew showed up later than what we were told, but they did show up and complete the project as promised and built a beautiful fence.

He came in after another contractor botched a remodel on our home, and finished it the way it should have been done. The previous contractor took all of our money, and didn't do what he said. Trades By Turner worked with us, for a price we could afford after losing all of our capital to the other contractor, and really turned an awful situation into a shining reminder that there are still good people, and good contractors out there. We liked his work so much, that we had him build us a garage after the home remodel was done so well. I cannot recommend them enough!
