He worked for us in 2021 to replace a 35-year-old deck with a new upgraded deck with some features that enhanced the quality of the deck and that would comply with the City regulations. He had a great crew that worked in all weather conditions and were very friendly and professional in their work. The work was of a high standard that passed the City's inspection with flying colors. What an unexpectedly unprofessional experience I had with Anas of Petra Decks. He wants others to accommodate him, but he will not accommodate you. At first he seemed kind, we had a lovely conversation and related on many subjects, but he was also very impatient, inconsistent and rude. He lied to me saying he waited 20 minutes at our gate which was untrue based on our texts, then he blocked me due to his own mistakes. This seems to be a theme with him. When I connected with him at the end of June this year we booked a 5pm time slot for him to view the property and at 5:06pm the day of the appointment he texts me saying he had to reschedule because he forgot his phone. I was confused, but I gave him a chance because life happens. Finally he was able to come and do a quote. He came to the property, he wasn't on time but it didn't bother me. We had a great conversation when he came where I thought I had found the perfect guy to build our deck. Then later he texted saying he needed to do some more measurements, I asked when; then he said actually it's ok he doesn't need to do measurements anymore. Then some time passed and he said he actually did need to do more measurements. So we had to arrange to meet again, but that was a very busy time for me so it was delayed. Finally we agreed on today, to which he said he'd come to our property at 2-3pm; then he confirmed he would be here at around 3pm. I rearranged my plans and agreed. Then at around half past 2 he said he would be at the property in "around 30 minutes" for measurements, which would be around 3pm, but because he came 10 minutes early and I was in the restroom so I didn't reply to his text of being here 10 minutes earlier. At 3:00 I saw his texts where he said he had arrived (early) and said "I'm leaving bye" at 3pm... the time he had said he would arrive originally. He said he was waiting at our gate for 20 minutes which was a lie, he was waiting for 10 because he was early, and I did not expect that. I was in the restroom as well briefly thinking he would arrive at 3. He lied about the situation and blocked me even though I apologized for being in the bathroom, despite this situation not being my fault. Because I had thought he was a gracious understanding and compassionate man, many reviews paint him as a kind man as well. But he has so little patience, and a terrible attitude. Maybe he was just in a bad mood today, I don't know. It doesn't mean I should've been treated this way. All I wanted was a deck and what I got was disrespect. read more

We worked with Anas in April 2017 who built us a decent-sized deck in our sloped backyard. He designed a deck for us that fit our budget, was low maintenance, and installed properly (flashing and proper footing). In the end we went with a deck that used Trex and had cedar railings with aluminum balusters. What impressed me most about Anas was his prompt communication, which I found seemed to be a lot to ask for from other contractors during my quest to find a deck builder. He was available via text, email, or phone call and usually responded within 24 hours. He and his team also worked quick! Our deck was about 16' x 25' and he finished it within 3.5 days. They also cleaned up after themselves, which I appreciated. I would definitely recommend Petra Decks to friends and family. He was easy to communicate with and helped us build a deck that suited our wants and needs. read more

Recently we had Petra Decks remodel our existing deck. We added new railings and decking as well as waterproofing the underside of the deck. Anas and his crew did a wonderful job and were very thorough when it came to there work. They even went above and beyond adding extra supports to make the deck even better structurally than it was to begin with. They made sure we were happy with the finished result and did not hesitate to swap out two boards that cosmetically I was not happy with. If I could give no stars I would. I spoke with Anas at this company and arranged for him to come to my home for a deck removal and repair. The first time he was supposed to show up he texted a couple hours before to cancel and reschedule. He was supposed to show up the next day at 5pm. Our appointment time came and went so I sent him a message to ask him if he was still coming. His text response was "hey I'm really sorry I spaced out it was really hot". He asked to reschedule and I told him that it was okay and I was going to go with someone else. Instead of being professional he responded with "come on give me a break it's hot out there we could t work all day, good luck lady". Now this is on a day that was only 83 degrees. I guess business is so good for them that they can afford to be unprofessional and blow off clients. read more

Anas replaced my cedar deck with a new Trex deck. He was easy to work with and did as he promised at a very fair price. Excellent communication, very responsive, honest, and a super nice guy as well. He had some great suggestions that improved the look of the deck and saved me quite a bit of $$ as well. The new deck turned out even better than I expected. Anas and his crew were great! They were prompt, professional, and friendly. From the start to finish they were a joy to work with and our deck looks beautiful. Anas worked with my design and communicated everything so well so there were no questions or doubts and he was very accommodating to our needs.
