He took care of all the plumbing, the electricity (with his brother who is a licensed electrician), the tiles (with another family member. It's family business), the painting. He also took care of dumping our old stuff and cleaned the house after the work was done. Octavian did a FANTASTIC job building a brand new deck for our cabin. The craftsmanship is unbelievable- everything lines up, including a border that lines up directly with our French doors. They cut our gutters perfectly into the deck and they hooked up a pipe to drain the water out as well. On top of that, we had a very short window to get this done as the property is an Airbnb and we had guests coming. I really liked the photos of the work and needed to replace an existing deck. I called and made an appointment for the next after next. We waited. Nothing. I texted - no reply. I called - no answer. Apparently, this is not a unique situation. If there is a problem being able to follow through, how about saying, "I'm sorry, we are not taking on new projects right now." IDL Construction is the best company I ever worked with. Octavian was very professional and knowledgeable about his work and did a wonderful job on my house. He did a full remodel on my home starting with removing the walls between the kitchen and living room, removing the old carpet, linoleum and old hardwood floors. He installed new laminate floors throughout the living/dining room and kitchen, installed new baseboards, installed new cabinets in the kitchen and in all 3 bathrooms, installed new interior doors along with the hardware and installed new windows. I had a wonderful experience with Octavian on our deck build (replacement of wood to Trex for the existing portion and to expansion to approximately double the original size). I received 3 estimates for this project; while his bid was slightly more than the lowest estimate, I found his communication and reliability to be better than the other companies (including company with a much more expensive estimate). Octavian came right on time for his estimate and talked us through what we were looking for. When we weren't sure, he gently provided suggestions. He was never pushy and never tried to upsell us during the entire process. Within 24 hours, we had a written estimate detailing the job and the pricing. After we provided a deposit for materials, he ordered our project materials within hours and the supplies were delivered to our door the following week. He and his colleague got to work once the materials arrived and we were impressed by the progress-- our deck was ready for use within 2 days. On both construction days, he and his colleague arrived promptly and worked hard both day to finish the project efficiently. We love our new deck and are so glad to find a great contractor.
