She replied, "No, we don't, I'm sorry." Well, she must have seen the sad puppy face I made because she then poured me 3 small glasses of the local beers from Three Floyds, Sand Creek, and Bell's Breweries and I was all smiles. Sadly disappointed. I've been here before and the last time we ordered some of the pastas which were wonderful. I thought this time around it would be the same, but unfortunately the service and the food fell flat. Our drinks were great as well as our appetizer, but my blackened catfish, one of the nightly specials, was basically burnt. And yes, I have had blacked fish before and it's one of my favorite ways of cooking fish. This had an over powering burnt charcoal flavor and the seasoning could not be tasted. The table next to me and my fiancé also had the blackened catfish and they also complained about how burnt it was. Our waiter offered to place a new order for me and I chose the fried catfish instead, which actually was great, although they only have me one piece when there was supposed to be two. My fiancé ordered one of the specialty burgers that had a beer cheese sauce on it and sadly the sauce was clumpy, gritty and there was just too much of it. Maybe they were just having an off night, but it really did not compare to the last time we were here. We'll probably wait a while before coming back and give some other places a try instead. read more

Me and my girlfriend went there today I ordered the blackened tuna she had the pepper shrimp the tuna had a discussing flavor so I politely told them I didn't like it the manager didn't say sorry or apologize. She responded with "what do you mean it has a bad taste? That's sushi grade tuna." They didn't refund my money or replace the dish with something different. So we payed $25 for tuna that I took 2 bites out of. Not to mention the shrimp was overcooked. Just save your money and go to McDonalds read more

Yes I have adjusted my ratings for eu claire. Still can't bring myself to give this place over 3 stars. The blackened catfish I ordered was semi inedible. It was clearly recently defrosted and had an odd charred burnt taste,not the great crisp spicy taste you'd expect form this dish. I was starving after a long shift so I was almost forced to scarf it down and quickly make my exit from this restaurant. The ambiance isn't horrible, but hopefully my N of 1 was just a bad sample of what they had on their menu. Maybe I'll have to give it another shot next time I'm in town, but when you're deciding where to go have dinner in sub 0 temperature, you better choose wisely, exploring the local dining scene can be very uncomfortable when you need to spend 30 min just getting the ice to defrost off your windshield. read more

Second time here. Friday seems to be a bit tougher for them than the Tuesday I did before. The beet salad was awash in a pool of water. And my spouse's portobello burger was a bit blander than one would hope in a cajun place. Server was very nice, but we could tell they were stretching her too thin for the crowds there. Still, I enjoyed the creole shrimp a bunch, and the child really liked her chicken tender (and my nibble in it suggests she was right on). I've had them nicely seared and cooked to perfection-- then a month later they are seemingly steamed and beyond over cooked. The bad: For a venue boasting a huge cocktail selection, I found it odd that there are absolutely zero whiskey or cognac-based options (though I suppose I discovered why shortly thereafter). Wanting something from that space, I ordered a Manhattan. I received bourbon on the rocks with a dash of bitters on their first attempt. The second attempt was the same thing, except with a splash of vermouth and cherries as a garnish (I know that places do variations on the cocktail, but I've never seen something like this before). My girlfriend ordered the Bourbon-glazed Bacon Scallops and received an unremarkable savory-sweet sauce with steamed vegetables served raw. Here ends the list of positives. The bad - The service was slowwww and remarkably inattentive. Forgivable if the place was busy, but it was not. Biggest disappointment - the BBQ Ribs. When buying a premium item, I have certain expectations and these missed by a mile. They were fatty, dry, and tough. Come on. Finally, the place is simply quite over priced - I was hoping to get a break from Minneapolis prices, but our meal cost as much as fine dining in the metro. Don't miss the sweet potato fries with a little Cajun mayo. Didn't get dessert this time, but we recommend the bananas foster. Very nice place.
