Friday, 5-23-2025 around noon. Meat Eaterz calzone was magnificent! Huge; probably 4 meals worth of food. The bread part was stretchy and flavorful, meats abundant, Marinara just right, and it was cooked to perfection. I will definitely order that again when visiting Eau Claire. Philly sandwich was also savory and tender. Bartender was orienting a new gal to the business, and he was doing a great job. I was a server/bartender for 8 years long ago and appreciate the kind and warm staff. I wish you all continued success. read more

Eau Claire Ale House - Meat Eaterz Calzone. HUGE! - New American Near Me - Eau Claire, Wisconsin

We are on a cross country trip and ended up at a hotel near by - so glad we stopped in. Ambiance is casual and bar vibes. Local spot that many people may pass by but the server/bartender was so friendly.. Talked to us all about the area and local beers! Wouldn't get the chicken wrap again, a little boring but otherwise everything was great and we are happy to have found this little bar. read more

Was in Eau Claire for work and found the Ale House. Great beer selection, awesome prices and the bartender was a cool guy who told us all the spots to check out in Eau Claire. We will visit again the next time we go there. read more

Saturday night and we wanted prime rib so thought we'd try the Ale House. We've never been here for prime rib. Needless to say we won't be back to this place. Salad was good. Potatoes were good. But the medium rare prime rib we ordered was not. It was very dry and tough. Just looking at them you could see these were not up to par. I honestly can't believe they even severed us this. We let our waitress know our disappointment and she apologized but never offered a replacement or another menu item. We had only taken a few bites and didn't finish our meals. Several minutes later we get the bill and it's the full amount. Any reputable restaurant would have given some discount for a bad experience. When I asked our nice waitress about this she said her manager wouldn't take any off the bill. The manager didn't come talk about our experience or look at the food first hand but just sent the waitress out to deal with it. To me this is very poor leadership and a "manager" that doesn't support his staff. It's very apparent he doesn't care about his customers that come spend their money at this establishment. To the nice young lady that waited on us I'd recommend getting a job somewhere that leadership will have your back. read more

My wife and I just had delivery from here. It was greatly enjoyed. We got the jalapeño poppers for starter. Nice and crispy and still warm. Cheddar makes it better! My wife had the mushroom Swiss on the pretzel bun . Cooked correctly. Bun nice and soft. Steak fries. Everything nice and warm. I had the Philiy cheese steak . Yum! The bread was so fresh but held up well . Fresh mushrooms and pepper. I had the garlic fries , which were amazing. Not inexpensive but worth the extra on a day we didn't want to go out! I'm stuffed. Well played! We will be eating here again! read more

Unfortunately, this restaurant has gone down hill from a few years ago. Service is lacking...even when you are the only table in the place. I used to like their garlic parmesan fries when they were prepared with an oil base coating infused with real minced garlic and generously sprinkled with parmesan cheese. Currently, they are now prepared with a buttery looking sauce that looks like it was squirted from a bottle and made to taste like garlic. Hardly any real garlic present, if any. Not to mention there was no parmesan sprinkling what so ever. The Philly sandwich was good...just a bit skimping on the steak portions. The grilled onion/pepper to steak ratio favored the former. On this most recent visit the fountain soda was FLAT...zero carbonation! read more

Service is fine & fish fry was disappointing - but the worst thing was how dirty the place is. Starting with the front doors-it appears they've never been cleaned & the glass on the doors are filthy. The bathrooms were very gross - dirty toilets- was afraid to sit down. While there, 2 times menus were accidentally dropped on the floor and each time the waitresses picked them up and put them with the other menus without cleaning them first. Gross! All windows were very dirty. The irony of it all is a window cleaner advertises on their tables. Never returning. read more

Terrible wait staff.. had to remind the waitor multiple times about our food, drinks and yes even the bill. The burger was good. Went on a Wednesday special was wings BURNT. Drinks were good. read more

my wife and I decided to try their Saturday prime rib special since CC we were in town. the pub is clean the staff was friendly and the beer was cold. first off menu says king or queen cut( 4 oz difference ) soup or salad a side AND dessert. well we got a choice of a side that was it, then the meat or what ever it was. it was cold as we ordered it medium rare. zero flavor and the grease/fat was disgusting. I was picking chunks of grease out of my teeth. was able to eat about a 1/4 of it my wife s but less. it was evide that this is food service food not fresh made. so try a burger or maybe the fish but beware of this special. litterally left CC a bad taste in my mouth. we shan't return. read more

To start: you stick to the floor, napkins balancing table, table sticky, no napkins in napkins holder, pop was flat, server spent most of time talking to a frirnd at the bar, also server wore shirt advertising another bar. Used to think this was a bit upscale. Totally not. Don't even ask about the food. read more

Please disregard most of the bad reviews, they almost got me to not go here and that is a shame. Food was amazing, staff was so friendly, really great experience for a random bar read more

Service really lacked! Forgot to put our appetizer order in (deep fried bacon). Also brought us the incorrect beer, lights flickered repeatedly while we were there, and dropped items loudly clearing the adjacent table. Food was fair at best. Extra charge for wraps, limited salad offerings, no happy hour or daily food specials. Not impressive at all. read more

The service: Rushed. The waitress seemed nice enough, but gave us the impression we weren't wanted at 8pm on a Saturday. Food: Onion rings - Huge, greasy, and super salty. Almost inedible. Salmon salad - overcooked salmon on top of slimy lettuce. The "salsa" on top was the most bizarre topping I've ever seen on a salad. Pizza- okay edges, but underone in the middle. I'll pass next time. Yuck. read more

DEEP. FRIED. BACON. Need I say more? No, I could stop here and be content with my review. However, just to round this out. The burgers are cooked pretty close to your liking, even if you ask for rare...which I find to be rare in the Midwest, so mos def a plus. There is also a pretty solid assortment of brews to choose from, as one would expect at an ale house. Also, even on a random weekday night, the day or so before Thanksgiving to be precise, we received decent service. Definitely worth checking out... if not just for the glorious DFB. read more

Omg this pregnant mama loved the food, as of course did the hubby and kids!!! I would tell every one to eat at this amazing little place.

The prime rib on saturdays is a joke, tastes and looks like the Sunday leftover special prime at festival foods from the deli counter, and costs almost 3x as much. Gray in color and bland, I've tried it twice now and zero difference. Had a few bites of it and sent it back to only get half off the price, and didn't get the desert that came with it either. Definitely go somewhere else for prime rib. Haven't seen much for reviews about the prime rib here, so I figured I'd give a warning against it. Pizza was very good however. read more

Eau Claire Ale House - They have a great beer selection! - New American Near Me - Eau Claire, Wisconsin

We went mid day in a Saturday and were disappointed with all of the menu changes - they don't offer calzones or pizza during the day, which is why we had gone in the first place. Our waitress was not very attentive, and didn't have a beer list so we had to get up and go look at the taps to figure out what to order. We got some appetizers, which were good, and then looked at lunch. We ordered tacos (but were told they don't have fish on the weekends so had to change our order; they were also topped with SO MUCH lettuce that we had to reassemble them), buffalo wings (which were more like bites then wings), and two sandwiches. The pulled pork doesn't have any sauce, and the chicken ranch sandwich was drenched in ranch. Overall, it was an average experience. I would hope their service and menu items are better during dinner. read more

My family and I stopped in for some appetizers on Sunday. The wait staff was quite friendly but also slow to respond (not the staff's fault, they were just understaffed for the customers there). It was nice and the food came out okay but it took my daughter quite some time to get the water she had asked for. Parking was limited but all in all it was a good time. read more

We stopped in on a whim. Have eaten here before and had great service and food. Beers are always fun to try and a great mix of 22 beers on tap I had the Ahi tuna with the wasabi mayo. The wasabi mayo is perfect. Essence of the wasabi and not the horseradish bite. The Ahi was perfect sear and rare as it should be. Tacos I would recommend. Kris had the fresh hand cut chicken tenders with a honey mustard. The tenders were the best she has had anywhere. The honey dressing was delightful and complimented the chicken tenders well. The steak cut fries were cooked perfect. Crisp on the outside and tender and puffy inside. They do them right here - hand cut fresh and cooked to perfection. The staff here today was extremely helpful and informative. If you have not dined here before, worth the stop and the calories! read more

Used to be such great food. Now it's horrible. Took over an hour for 2 of us to get burgers and there were only 3 tables. Not sure why they asked how I wanted my burger done since they just burned the crap out of anyway. I will not be going back. read more

This place was comfortable and had a family friendly vibe. They had free music bingo and they were giving away drink tickets and glasses for the winners. The pizza was Great where the burger was just OK although it was cooked perfectly. The calzone was pretty tasty and so were the cheese curds. I would recommend going and I'm certainly going to be going back. The service was excellent. read more

First time here, and my last time. Waited an hour for a table, watching people that came in after us get seated. Had an absolutely terrible experience here with myself and 4 coworkers. Everything took almost an hour, the guy forgot all sauces and who ordered what. Fries were old and Luke warm, "jumbo" shrimp were tiny and in no way jumbo. 3 of my coworkers were got cottage cheese and it was like they were playing a joke on us with 3 vastly different sizes. Went tonight for fish and was very disappointed. After waiting for over 30mins, after others had received their food before us and after sitting down after us, people that got seconds before we even got our first portions and only after overhearing us talking about the service did the Waitress finally come and check in with us only to give us a bullshit excuse and be extremely rude about the hole thing. Awesome fish! Only problem is the size. Can't seem to get enough people seated on Friday's. Also weren't taking names at the door so a little unorganized. Will be back but may have to go for a late fish fry so I can get seated. Definitely a lot better than its predecessor, Empire. Also good beer selection on the self serve wall and behind the bar. Wines kept at proper temp and good appetizers. Couple next to us were from Florida and loved the pizza. read more

For a casual restaurant this place has it all! Great food (mainly burgers, sandwiches and pizzas) and great beer (lots of craft and domestic choices). We have been pleasantly surprised by the great food, beer and service we receive at the Ale House. Yes, deep fried bacon.... need I say more? read more

been coming here for about the passes 4 months, never disappointed, food is hands down fricken great thanks to the chef (also my non blood related dad) fricken love it, the beer is always perfect temp, service is great, will recommend to everyone, nice calm place if you don't like the hectic water street bars, super calm, friendly folks all the time, super great service, as I stated above HANDS DOWN BEST FOOD I crave a bar burger.... not just any bar burger, Ale house bar burger. 5 star from me read more

Went for fish fry with some friends. Beers were good, fish was really good!! We did the "all you can eat", the Cajun was good, beer battered was alright, but we highly suggest the lightly breaded, and the baked! read more

I tried them for the first time today. It was the worst food in Eau Claire. First off, for an Ale House, they had no ales. Their beer selection was small and mostly made up of junk. The bartender/server had no suggestions on the selection when asked, and he screwed up my order. I tried their Cajun Fish Bake; what I got was anything but. The fish was rubbery because it was microwaved from frozen, and it was coated with cheap "cajun" spice which tasted mostly of salt. I asked for fries and got potato chips. When I complained about the food I was told "that's how it comes out" and then I was practically kicked out. They made no effort to fix the problem. This pub is an abysmal failure in my opinion, stay away. read more

Go to Ale House- prob every Friday night- baked fish and an old fashion.. like clockwork- everytime. Tell all our friends and family- best fish in EC. While 9.8 out of 10 - the food is good- the wait staff/bartenders have ZERO customer service skills- almost every single time. Had a coupon for a couple of free drinks because last week the waitress both messed up and forgot an order. Got our old fashionS tonight- no booze. Called the waitress on it - denied it- said- oh yea! There's booze in it. The Shirley temples sat on our table- untouched- not once did she offer to fix her mistake or address the undrunk old fashionS. Still charged us $6 each. My BF and I have been in the restaurant business/ customer service business almost our whole lives. It's not about the alcohol - it's the Complete Disregard of Her Mistake AND the Zero Percent Effort to Correct it. I hear they're under new mngt- might be time to start focusing efforts on ensuring your customers leave happy. Love the food. Need a Major Overhaul on staffing. Disappointing read more

The worst service ever! We waited 10 minutes before the drink order, rushed to order our food when the waiter returned and then we were not checked on for 35 more minutes. Some cancelled their orders, others took their food to go because they couldn't manage to get our food to us for over an hour. We asked for boxes and bills because time was running out, the waiter brought them to us, sans food! We had to bring the to-go boxes to the till when we paid and ask the waiter to box up our food that was finally in the window. They were not that busy so we could only conclude we had the rudest, most inattentive server ever! It's a shame because the food we did get was pretty good, even though we had to eat it at our desks back at work. Carry-out may be worth it. read more

We were unhappy with the Friday night fish fry. The fish obviously had been made a long time ago because it was very dry and the outer edges were like rubber. When the waiter asked how our food was, we told him. He said, "ok, good to know!" But they never brought out fresher fish, didn't take anything off the bill, or offered a coupon or anything. This was our third time there, not having had stellar service the first two times either, it we were trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. No more though. Three strikes, you're out. read more
