Would give you 0 stars if I could. We purchased 1000s of dollars in furniture in August. We still don't have a recliner, they tried to deliver it 4 times broken. Daughter's dresser was delivered broken, now they are trying to charge us a fee for someone to fix it. Daughters bed set was put together backwards, don't worry we fixed that. Delivery guys banged up wall, door frame, ceiling fans. Our dresser drawer delivered most of them broken. Absolutely ridiculous, and the worst customer service and quality control we have ever experienced. All of our pieces were custom made and should be delivered 100 %. Do not buy from Steinhafels!! They had the audacity to tell me that this was normal wear and tear, and that it was not covered. Bought 2 recliners and one recliners the back busted right off plus we told them the lumbar never worked right. Service person came and looked at it and said he'd order us a whole new back. Waited weeks and finally got it delivered...what a joke! We got a new cover for the back, some stuffing and wood pieces to replace the ones that broke. Contacted service and stated we were to get a complete new back that just these pieces doesn't fix the lumbar problem and was told now I have to contact someone else. Why do I have to chase down people? We had the VIP warranty! These chairs were not cheap either. Price of chair with tax and VIP warranty was $1570 and this is how they treat their customers! Would rather go to Menards and buy a cheap recliner, at least if it breaks I wouldn't feel so bad getting rid of it. This is why we paid for something we thought would last us many years. We ordered patio furniture and it took 2 months to arrive. We bought the protection plan and ended up with a hole in a cushion. They say it takes 12 to 14 weeks to get a freaking cushion. Our name brand couch was dropped/damaged upon delivery. The technician tried to repair it and talk us through our further options as it was still damaged. Calling the customer service management team we are ignored, they will not return calls or do anything further to repair our brand new couch. I've shopped at Steinhafel's for years and have never had an issue with their customer service, their products or their delivery services. Everyone I've worked with has been friendly and helpful. I even had to have a new sofa during COVID in 2020 and the supply was limited, but what I got has served us well. I have a kitchen table that has stood the test of time through all of my kids and homework. I did have to replace the cushioned seating for it, but after 10 years of wear, it held up well and the replacements came from Steinhafels too, so they match. My sale went great. Quick and easy but delivery people don't no what drop off delivery is. They failed to deliver and trying to get ahold of them is nearly impossible. They also call from a California number which looks like spam and don't leave a message. Tried calling the store and they can only email the delivery manager. Doesn't look like I will get it today as promised. Update After trying to call again and getting a hold of customer service after I missed her name originally asked for it again and she said that she didn't need to give it to me. Know and confirm ALL policies that have any potential to influence your transaction with Steinhafels. We recently purchased a Dream Cloud mattress. We were told the mattress was covered by a 365 night sleep satisfaction guarantee. We chose not to purchase a mattress protector from Steinhafels at the time of purchase...we were told that failure to purchase this cover would eliminate any implied warranty or return possibility at the store. With the promised manufacturer warranty I thought that using our own mattress protector would be just fine. Neither my wife nor I can get a good night sleep on the new mattress and have decided to return it under the manufacturer's policy. Reached out to the manufacturer and was told by them that since I bought it from Steinhafels, I was Steinhafels' problem. The manufacturer's warranty cannot supersede the retailer's return policy. Apparently buying a Dream Cloud mattress from a Dream Cloud retailer voids any warranty of the manufacturer. NOT what we were told by Steinhafels. read more

Because we had the credit for the falling apart furniture, my wife went back for some items that were available in the Waukesha store. So Cynthia, the incompetent order taker in Appleton told my wife the items would be in the Appleton store by Friday and available for pick up. Tonight she called because we were going to be in Appleton and she was told, "that's odd, they weren't scheduled to be on the truck coming up today. The best we can do is get them on the Sunday truck and you can pick them up Wednesday." So clearly Cynthia screwed this up again and obviously my wife being confused asked if they were arriving on Sunday why can't she pick them up Sunday or Monday and she was told they don't so pick ups on Monday or Tuesday. So despite the canned response that was templates to my last review saying this was not the customer service they were known for, it is in fact the horrible customer service that continues and will prevent us from ever doing business here again and recommending to anyone who will listen, DO NOT SHOP here. How do you go in specifically to get furniture brought up from another store and have the sales person enter the order, charge you for it and then forget to have it scheduled to be on the truck? Incompetence that's how. Oh, and now we picked up the chairs and we have to assemble them? I would expect this from IKEA, but from a furniture store that has items in the store ready to go? After only a month and very light use, the lumbar support on this couch started to break down. Tech support came out but the tech refused to take care of the matter. The tech documented the information and took photos of the broken-down lumbar supports, That's all he did. About 2 months out of warranty there was no support left in the lumbar on either side and it was painful to even sit on the couch. I expected more from a $3,500.00 couch. Steinhafels refused to stand behind the product and they couldn't even provide me with the manufacturer's contact information. How odd is that? The store manager was rude and offered no support. If you're looking for quality, this couch is not for you. I will never step into Steinhafels again. Steinhafels emailed me and said this was normal wear and blamed me for not buying the extended warranty. They were made aware of the situation 30 days after I purchased the couch. I purchased a new sectional couch from Steinhafels in Appleton, WI on August 2, 2024. Less than 6 weeks later my sectional's frame broke. I contacted the company and because I didn't purchase their overpriced service plan, I was screwed and have to pay for the service visit. I can't give a good review to a company that won't stand behind their products after only 6 weeks of normal use. furniture should not break that easily, that quickly. Customer service was very rude and condescending and just kept saying that I should've gotten the service plan. My whole point is that their furniture shouldn't be breaking in less than 6 weeks time. Steinhafels did some shady stuff....I went into the Steinhafels on 04/29/2021 to help my Mom select furniture for her new apartment. We encountered a Jeffrey Wedekind, Sales Associate at the High Crossing Boulevard location in Madison, WI. She eventually selected some nice pieces for her living with end tables and a coffee table to match. Fast forward, more than a year has gone by and she still hasn't received the coffee table that had been promised to her. There has been numerous excuses and promised delivery dates have gone by, still no coffee table! Today I have finally been told that the coffee table has been discontinued. On top of the disappointment of knowing that my Mom will never get the coffee table that matches her two end tables, they want to return the money to her account, which would take two to three business days OR I can come in the store and pick up a check. NO!!!! I paid cash for her items at the time of purchase! Why should my Mom have to wait when she already waited a year for a coffee table that she will never have now???? Steinhafels should have immediately contacted myself or my Mom the moment they knew that this product had been discontinued. I had to call them myself to obtain this information This is not the reputable store that I thought it was. I will never ever shop here again and I will definitely not recommend to anyone to shop there, especially if they give you a date to have something delivered and they put the delivery date off for MORE than a year! I bought and paid for a piece of a sectional out of the clearance room. Set up a pick up date and left the store. I live an hour away. 30 min after I left they called and said someone else wanted to buy the whole sectional so they were voiding my transaction. Went in to purchase a sectional couch in which our salesperson sold us on the 3 reclining pieces. The next morning my wife noticed a price difference and found the one she sold us was of the 2 reclining and not the 3. We called the store and spoke to our sales lady in which she confirmed we had the 3. Upon further review of our purchase we noticed the SKU on the 2 middle pieces where the same meaning we only received 2. We drove to the store to ask another sales man about the couch and he stated the floor model was of the 3 and that was the price. That's when we informed them they were wrong. This is when the Manager Suzanne got involved and then tried charging us an additional $200 for their mistake, we showed Suzanne the online price of an additional $50 and said it's your mistake not ours who is paying for it and she stated US. Suzanne is an absolute horrendous manager and we spent over a hour at the store trying to fix this problem. When we began to look at bedroom sets we were approached by Nancy. We explained what we were looking for and Nancy heard every word. She showed us what was in our budget and a little out of our budget. She gave us information to allow us to make an educated decision why making a choice. We were so comfortable that we bought the set, a mattress and box, and a kitchen table (with assistance from another employee Amanda also amazing). Everything has been delivered as promised and looks amazing. Nancy held our hands through the whole process. I will never buy furniture elsewhere again. PLEASE SHARE!! Buyer beware of the furniture store steinhafels. We purchased a couch and loveseat (that wasn't cheap) and had some defective foam in one of the pads. They sent out a service technician and he folded up some fiberfill (like the batting in a blanket) until I was about two inches thick and then put it back together. I was assured (despite my skepticism) that this will do the trick. About six months later it all settled and was almost too hard to sit on for any amount of time, so I called them up and told them about the situation. they made immediately directed me to the manufacturer of the couch and refused to talk to me further about it. I did contact the manufacturer they did agree that it was handled the wrong way and that it was a defective product. The manufacturer agreed to send me the product replacement parts but I would have to have them installed. I then followed by calling steinhafels again (talking with a guy named Chadwick Billy) and asked to talk to a manager. He refused to send me to a manager so I can ask him and he refused again. I then asked to have if he could have a supervisor call me? Chadwick assured me that within 24 hours I would get a call. After 24 hours and some time had passed guess what happened?? Nothing. I emailed him and asked him why I did not get a call. He replied, a manager doesn't want to talk to me because the furniture was out of warranty already, and there was nothing to talk about. I then asked is it worth losing a customer over something that has been verified that it was a factory defect (via email) and after 3 days I still have not received a response. If you decide to buy it from the company steinhafels ( because of their fancy sale prices)make sure that you buy an extended warranty because you'll need it. The customer support does not care about you (the customer) P.S. After some investigating the person I talk to Chadwick Billy is in fact a store manager!! I am soooo disappointed. I purchased a new leather leather livingroom set, which was the last in stock, aka clearance. I still spent a healthy amount of money on this set, that was highly recommended by the sales associate. Within a couple months time, the color is coming off of the furniture! I called customer service and because it was purchased on clearance, they will do NOTHING for me. It is soooo disappointing. I will never purchase from them again. It is a manufacturer problem and they just don't care! POOR customer support. This was after they delivered an accent chair (not on sale) that you could the light of day between the arm and the chair. That was resolved, but wanted me to pay for a 2nd delivery charge. Steinhafels didn't honor their promotion for Presidents Sale. We purchased a loveseat at Steinhafels on 1-28-21 in the store. Due to the late delivery schedule we ordered the matching couch over the phone on 2-4-21. Originally we were told delivery would be the beginning of March, then it went to the middle of March, now it is at the end of March. Total spend was $4,202.77. At the time I ordered the couch Steinhafels had their President's Sale going on which entitled us to $100.00. I asked for that when I placed my order. I was told I had to go into the store for the $100.00. On 2-25-21 we went to the Appleton Store. The Manager said the only way to give me the $100.00 would be to cancel the order and reenter it in the system. There is a waiting list for these items which would have placed us at the end of the list versus the beginning of the list. He then stated there was a price increase of $100.00 for each of the items - therefore, we got a good deal. Their service is horrible and they don't honor their promotions. read more

We went to look for a piece of furniture today. Stopped here for the first time. Walked in and the displays were great but that's where it ends. The employees could have been wax figures. There were 3 at the front desk ( one looked half asleep) and not one word out of them. Mind you, when we pulled in there were no other cars in the lot. We walked through the store passing about 10 employees, at close range and not one spoke a word to us. In the back of the store finally a person who appeared to maybe be a cleaning or stockroom employee said "hi" as she passed us. After about 15 minutes someone asked if we had any questions. Absolutely horrible customer service. We purchased a couch with ottoman a month ago. the ottoman was on backorder and we were told it would be one week before delivery. Well 4 Weeks later after multiple unreturned phone calls and being unable to reach anyone except for an automated recording I finally get an email that the ottoman is in. I'm now expected to wait an entire week for them to be able to deliver and this has to be scheduled online. I've called the store numerous times including the sales associate trying to arrange to pick it up myself..no such luck you physically cannot reach a person! Just unreal. We went in to pick out a mattress and box spring. We settled on a nice set that wasn't cheap by any means. Delivery was scheduled for 1 1/2 weeks away which was not a problem. They sent out an email stating the delivery was the next day between 3:30 and 5:30. This time window came and went. Called customer service which was not of any help, called the store and talked to the store manager, who apologized and said they would be an hour late and gave a credit back. The delivery people finally show up an hour late. We paid for them to remove our old mattress, but they said unless it is in perfect shape they would not remove it. Who get a new mattress if their old one is in perfect shape, specially after 10 years? Are they going to resell it? Ridiculous. They never told us of this policy when we purchased the mattress. Told them to keep the mattress and would go elsewhere. Will not shop there again.
