The team worked incredibly hard even in the hottest two weeks of the summer, and they were always very thoughtful and considerate. Not only do we love how it turned out, but we are confident it will last as long as possible because they took the care and attention to use high-quality materials and do everything the right way. Oliveira Painting provided the perfect combination of expertise, professionalism, and friendliness…read more We were so fortunate to have found Roni and his team through Angie's List! Roni (the owner) provided a free, same-day estimate after visiting our home for interior painting. Throughout the paint project, he constantly and thoroughly explained each day's tasks. Pretty soon we were confident that he is an expert and knows the ins and outs of what needs to be done (I think at this point we could call him an artisan). Roni made sure that every aspect of the project was completely and perfectly done, even when it meant doing extra sanding and retouching at the last moment. Plus, the team cleaned up impeccably. Roni and his team also made sure that we met our deadlines - we were working under a tight schedule, and were thankful that the team took it seriously and in a professional manner. On top of that, the team was friendly and a genuine pleasure to interact with. Roni felt like the uncle - or the neighbor - we wished we'd had! Overall, we had a wonderful experience with this local group. With the quality and pleasantness, it was definitely worth the amount we spent (Roni also offered some discount for certain jobs). Without a doubt I'd highly recommend this team if a friend asked for suggestions.

Every one of them appeared to take their job quite seriously. It was a big job and they were here for weeks - scraping, sanding, cleaning and finally painting. The house looks terrific (and if it could talk, I'm sure it's very happy with how it was cared for). I recommend them highly to anyone looking for a very high quality painting company.

Even though their pricing was at the high end of the estimates we received, i chose them because…read moreof: their great reviews here and elsewhere; affiliation with WBUR public radio and Historic New England; their estimate was extremely detailed; and they work on a lot of old houses. I expected their attention to detail and customer service to be just as detailed as their estimate but they fell far short of meeting our expectations. If it weren't for me directing the painters each day, we would've had a number of areas that were either not painted at all, not properly prepped, or painted the wrong color. I gave one star because their painters did an acceptable job...but only because I had to manage them by myself. They needed direction, which the project manager Pete did not provide. And when he was here he never gave me a heads up; if I happened to notice Pete was here he would disappear before I could get outside to look at things with him. At the end of the job, even on the last day, he did not meet with us when punch list items should have been reviewed. They also refused to do the last bit of work we planned on. It was estimated separately because they were still discussing with us which floor sealer to use and another contractor had to install the gutters first before they came back to paint them. Pete, backed up by Nigel (the owner) decided they didn't want to work with us anymore because they "did not meet our expectations." Normally if a business admits to not meeting the expectations of their customer, they try to correct the problem to make the customer happy. In this case, apparently because we complained about the above issues as well as some damage to our antique hardware and floor, they dumped us with 1-2 days work left to do. (They didn't have to honor the second estimate because we hadn't paid a deposit yet - they hadn't billed us yet, though we technically had a verbal and written agreement via email). Lesson learned, if you arrange work on a separate estimate, be sure to pay the deposit so they are locked into finishing your job! When invoiced, they tried to charge us for work not done (I knew this because I was here everyday managing the job) so i had to ask them to reduce the bill by that amount. When I received the adjusted invoice, I asked for a discount due to our dismal experience, the amount of personal time I had to spend managing this project, as well as the damage that they did not address. The owner responded by threatening to have his lawyer put a lien on our house instead of first trying to make this right, which is the number one tenet of customer service. Incredibly disappointing and confusingly awful customer service. DO NOT HIRE THEM.

Ridge Painting and Restoration was not the cheapest of the estimates we got (nor the most expensive) but Kieran's straight forward communication as well as the very positive reviews on Yelp led us to hire them. Kieran was very reponsive, thorough, and prompt, answering all questions completely and keeping us up-to-date on any scheduling changes. He's professional, friendly, and clearly cares about his work. They were hard working, efficient, considerate of us and our neighbors, cleaned up at the end of each day, and they completed the job within the estimated timeline and right on budget, even though they did extra work outside the contract, because they wanted the work done completely with high quality. They kept the yard clean, with no smoking/music, and thorough site protection from lead while scraping. John painted a number of samples of our red siding colors on the house so we could find the match we liked, and also took care of matching the cream and blue colors. He and the crew also made some recommendations (like painting the downspouts and adjusting the deck color to match the rest of the house better), but didn't press if I decided differently. They also identified areas that needed wood repair (fascia, siding, porch base) and did those very nicely, again with clear pricing ranges up front. The couple times I wasn't happy with something, they fixed it right away. There was a tricky spot to reach on a 3rd floor dormer, and when I called it out they went back and got it. And the crew scraped/prepped a railing that I had initially not asked to be repainted, but they just included it in the repainting without charging extra. They aren't cheap, but the quality of work and communication is excellent. I won't hesitate to contact John again.

Justifiably proud of the work they do. Pricing is fair and competitive, and the quality is outstanding. He wants his work to last. The prep work- it is all about the prep as anyone will tell you- was thorough, and nearly dust-free. Down to bare wood or solid old finish, sanded, primed, and two coats, well-applied. No one can do this level of work without hiring and retaining excellent people, and Erwin clearly has. Victor and David were on-time, respectful of neighbors, generous with automobile covers, and did outstanding work at all levels (and floors!) Not just the painting, but the carpentry.
