Steve at Mr. Handyman reached out right away and asked me to call him to discuss the details. I called Steve to explain a job I needed done involving an access door from my garage. He explained what he thought would be the best approach and that one of his employees would give me a better idea when he arrived for the quote. Steve explained the pricing, hourly rate, etc. and that his employee would give me a final quote before starting any work. Derek arrived on time for the appointment (I also got a text when he was on his way which was a nice touch). We went through all the details together, he explained what he would do and the estimated cost. I agreed and he got to work. He did an excellent job and the door looks great. I asked about a second project involving our swing set which he thankfully had time to include. Again, he went over all the details and estimates before proceeding. The work quality was again absolutely excellent. Derek cleaned up his work area completely. The final price came in exactly where expected, which I will also say I think is a fair price for the length of time he was here and the quality of the work performed. He asked me about any other needs I had and gave me some documentation regarding the most common jobs his company handles in case I need anything in the future. I can't think of anything about the process that could have been improved here. I would definitely give them a call again if I need anything!

This was the worse contractor I have ever hired. Rodrigo came to our house to dig holes for the…read moresono tubes for our deck extension. He came unprepared with a rickety old pole digger, no wheelbarrow, pry bar or shovel. After a few attempts at digging the hole, he came to our door stating he was hitting rock. My husband gave him a better post hole digger, a pry bar, shovel and wheelbarrow. Then Rodrigo came back to the house two other times because he couldn't manage digging the hole. My husband had to show him how to work the hole to get the rocks out using the pry bar. The rocks were not even very big. When he finally finished digging two holes, they were in the wrong place for the size of the deck. Next day he brought to helpers who had to dig two more holes. They wasted cement filling one hole that wasn't in the right place. We bought the stock. In the end the fourth hole they dug was out of place sticking out the side of the deck that showed the most. I had to take time out of work to monitor them. My husband took a day off as well. I could not believe they actually brought a big plastic bag put the cement in it and water to mix the cement. We gave them a plastic tub to mix the cement. They talked excessively and could have had the job done a lot sooner if Rodrigo had not sat there and watched his two employees do all the building of the deck. At one point Rodrigo was sitting on his air compressor and rocking on it. Our land is sloped, he was on the top of the slope doing this and almost flipped over. His employee had to stop him. Rodrigo told me to "take it easy" when I questioned some of the things they were doing. In the end I asked for $200 off the price and Rodrigo got angry starting yelling "no way" and his employee ended up negotiating a discount of $100 for the way the sono tube was sticking out.
