Horrible apartment. I would recommend living in college dorms to anyone before this complex. Whatever your base rate is make sure to add at least $500 a month for hidden fees. Basic amenities like elevators and door locks fail to be maintained. Staff and management could care less about residents. read more

I live in a two-bedroom unit at Steele Creek. The high cost of rent apparently covers the luxury experience of not having air conditioning when you need it most. Two weeks after moving in back in June during the hottest week of the year, our AC went out. Nighttime temps inside the apartment hit 85 degrees. We immediately submitted a service request and then... nothing. No updates, no urgency, no communication. For three days, we were completely in the dark and had to call the AC company ourselves just to find out what was happening. Total time without AC? Eight days. Outside temps were 101+. Management's response? Zero apology and a $100 credit, which felt less like compensation and more like an insult. We had to leave the apartment for a week because it was genuinely unlivable...but hey, at least we could almost cover a nice dinner with that credit. Fast forward to now: one full week without AC again. Same story, different month. This time I'm told, "It'll get better when it gets cold." Fantastic--except it's December, it's 70 degrees outside, and my apartment is 76 degrees and climbing. I don't care if the weather is "unusual." I care that the apartment I pay a premium for can be kept at a normal temperature whenever I damn well please. And while we're at it: The main elevator has been out for over two months, our dishwasher was broken for 14 days, accountability is basically nonexistent. UDR markets itself as luxury living. What they deliver is excuses, delays, and bare-minimum gestures when things go wrong. If you're considering living here, just know that high rent does not equal high standards or even functional essentials. Unless you enjoy sweating indoors, I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere read more

I've been living at Steele Creek for a while now, and honestly, it's been great. The location can't be beaten -- right across from the Cherry Creek Mall and many restaurants, including a private entrance to Matsuhisa, so everything's super convenient. The building is well-kept, and the amenities are a nice bonus. I use the gym almost daily, and the combination of the year-round rooftop pool, hot tub, and view is amazing. The staff, especially the front desk team, Amber and Mary, are friendly and always helpful when something arises. Whenever I open maintenance requests, my issues are addressed successfully in less than 24 hours. My apartment features large windows that allow in plenty of light, and the finishes are high quality -- nothing cheap or overly trendy. It's quiet, clean, and feels like home. If you're seeking an upscale spot in Cherry Creek that isn't stuffy, I'd definitely recommend checking this one out. read more

Do NOT live in this building. The worst management I have ever dealt with renting. Omar said it well in her review below, "I have lived here for two years and continue to deal with horrible management staff. This entire building is focused on taking your money, regardless of ethics and morals. Random fees are charged to your account. Security continues to be atrocious even though they claim to be a 'luxury' building." They take full advantage of tenants wanting to stay more than a year by offering rates well above the current rates. Interesting business model. When bringing up concerns with the management, they do not show compassion and professionalism (that's if they even respond.) This is the most corporate building you will ever come across. Unless if you plan on living here for one year total, do NOT rent at Steele Creek. Read the reviews of the building, which says it all. read more

This entire building is focused on taking your money, regardless of ethics and morals. Repairs are not completed in a timely manner. Random fees are charged to your account. Security continues to be atrocious even though they claim to be a 'luxury' building. They allow this building to be run like a fraternity house. Steele Creek is horrible and potentially extremely dangerous. Steele Creek has numerous radiation warnings throughout the property and very close to my living area. These warnings were not present when I toured or the months I have been living here. Based on some self research my apartment is at an unsafe distance from these devices that emit radiation and it looks like others are too. I cannot say for certain because the management has failed to give me any information on the towers, the radiation limits, or any other questions asked even though myself and other tenants have requested it for many weeks. There are many other issues such as the elevators being broken for months at a time, amenities being continually out of service, busted piping that floods apartments/common areas, and the list goes on. But these are all things you can live with. What is absolutely unacceptable is having radiation warnings appear right outside your living area and then not be given any of the information requested for weeks. Attached to this review is an image of the many signs posted at Steele Creek. read more

Steele Creek - Here are one of the many signs posted throughout Steele Creek. - Apartments Near Me - Denver, Colorado

I highly DO NOT recommend moving in this building. The management is awful. The night time concierge is amazing, they are a 3rd party hire. When I began looking at apartments before my move in at the end of August. I came in several times and there was an extremely sweet girl working there that was helpful. Her coworker was always rude and had always dodged any questions I have. It was only thanks to the women who truly helped me I took this unit. Since I have moved in the now manager, Amber has been completely rude, evasive and has sent me several violation emails which I have responded to and she said that she has sent them to all my neighbors after speaking to them. They all never received anything. She has said and done many things to make me in my 11 month old daughter and I feel extremely uncomfortable and other residents in this building. I am somebody that keeps completely to myself and just goes in and out of the building to take my daughter and my dog on walks. Every time I have asked her for something there has been a very rude response or remark and as almost like she is miserable working there and very unhappy. I will not relay the conversations we had on this review. Based on what I was told and I have seen. I would not recommend anyone to live. Here I have had my apartment was dirty, and so many things were broken upon moving in that were still not even fixed. For the price that I am paying, and what I feel like has been harassment at this point, there are much better buildings in Cherry Creek North to live in. I think the number one priority is to always feel safe physically and mentally in your own space and home. read more

I've lived at Steele Creek for 4 years and until this year haven't had any serious issues with the management staff, however things drastically changed this spring. You'd think living in a luxury apartment complex would result in receiving amazing service however that is not the case here. I reported mold in my apartment and it took 43 days (submitted a report on April 3) for just part of the repairs to be completed. This was the second time I had mold in my apartment. It took over 3 weeks for someone to access and clean the mold the first go around and 43 days the second time around. I still have not received an update on when the remaining repairs will be done and don't anticipate a response from the Community Director for at least 4-5 days since that is her typical response time. They tried to hold me liable for the damages and make me pay $2,000. I spent 5 days recording videos and documenting what was going on to prove I was not responsible, and the Community Director agreed. On April 14, I was told that the repairs would be taken care of immediately after the Community Director and I met and concluded I was not responsible. That didn't happen. They originally hired a remediation company to do the work and were going to have me either pay out of pocket or through renters insurance, but once it was them footing the bill they decided to use their in-house contractors to do the work. I found out they were going to use their in-house contractors on April 25 (11 days laters). The contractors and I agreed they would do the work while I was out of the country for the next 2 1/2 weeks, with the repairs being done on May 3 (the day I left). I received a text on May 8 that they were there to do the work however needed to move a few things. I was under the impression the work was already done, but since I was out of the country it was not the end of the world. I told them they had permission to re-enter and move whatever items they needed to move to do the repairs. On May 15 it was confirmed that they had still not done the repairs and I reached out to the Community Director asking when the repairs would be done. She claimed I did not respond to their texts, which is not true, as I received a response to my text about re-entering and moving whatever they needed to move. The next day, May 16, the trim was finally replaced, however the carpet still has mold in it and I was told it would be replaced. I asked the community director if she had an update regarding the concession on May 16 as we had previously discussed this. I followed up again on May 19, and did not receive a response from her until May 22 (6 days later). They offered a $250 credit which is comical considering how unprofessional it is to ignore a paying resident with mold in their apartment for multiple days, to not follow through on anything that was promised, and require multiple follow ups to get anything done. Do not get caught up in the amenities as the majority of the time they are out of order. This includes the hot tub, ice machines and the elevators. I think the freight elevator has been out of order for almost 5 months at this point, potentially more. If you're looking for luxury living, I can promise you Steele Creek is not it. The current residents will be fully transparent and let you know that they likely won't be renewing due to the crazy high renewal increase of 40 - 50%, the service they've received from the Community Director and the faulty amenities. read more

If I could give them 0 starts I would. Do not live here unless you want to be subject to 20-25% rent increases when your lease expires (usually offer a 10-12month lease period for the lowest rate). I've been subject to a 20% increase, then moved apartments to lock in a lower rate, then a 25% increase. The same unit above me is on the market for $500 less than what they are offering me in my renewal, and they wouldn't budge on offering me a lower rate. The on-site concierge team is great but UDRs off-site leasing department (who you deal with when it comes to rates) is horrible. There have been at least 10 pipe bursts and many units flooding (including my own). This has lead to significant mold issues in the building. I was out of town when my unit flooded, was never told of the damage and wasn't aware until I was back in town and they only gave me two weeks off my rent - my apartment was torn up and unusable for over two weeks, with multiple items ruined by construction workers including shoes, rugs, furniture items. There is a consistent sewer smell in the hallways and coming from my toilet. They tried to fix it in my room but said it's coming from a different floor and nothing they can do. Apartments are worn and they do not hand them over in good condition. Major dust issue within the vents. For the massive price increase this building is not worth it and having to deal with UDR. read more

DO NOT LIVE HERE. We have had an absolutely frightening experience living here. The building put up alerts for radiation feet from our balcony which is a major concern. When we asked for more information since we were truly fearful we were gaslighted by staff. This building does not care about the well being of their residents, and will often times ignore you. I am not one to ever leave a review, but I have been truly disgusted by the actions of this building. I write this to warn you to look elsewhere. We wanted to love it here, but sadly it has been nothing short of a disaster. UPDATE- The "letter" we were provided from Verizon didn't answer any of the questions we had been asking for a month. We wanted to know what type of antenna it was, what the exact measurement of safety distance was, and what type of radiation was being emitted. Unfortunately, none of this was answered and Verizon just said they followed the guidelines in place when putting the antennas up but gave no clarification on the questions actually raised. read more

Renter Beware: Steal Creek The following are my opinions based on my experience of living at Steel Creek for the past year and based on information shared by other residents of Steele Creek. Don't be seduced by rooftop. There is nothing luxurious about Steele Creek.  Many of the "amenities" are consistently out of service or in need of constant repair.  See below. I was forced to consult an attorney to try and get them to repair a plumbing issue in my apartment.  Remember the CO Warranty of Habitability. The management team (onsite Sr. Community Director and District Service Managers) fail to accept responsibility, deny the known significant issues with the building, delay repairs and responses and only allow you to vacate due to issues if you sign an NDA. List of issues we have encountered and heard from other residents:  Ask them to deny these issues exist-- · Constant plumbing issues. Had to consult attorney and threaten legal action under Habitability Code to get them to act. o Issues with significant temperature and lack of water pressure in shower.  Warm to scalding. o Denied issue and said only our apartment.  Other residents said had same issue. o Plumber comes says not apartment issue. Building issue. o Another plumber comes. Says building issue not apartment issue. o Issue never resolved.  Management refuses to fix and says exhausted all possibilities. o Even when they know building's boilers need repair and are insufficient. · Leaks on 12th floor from jacuzzi and rooftop planters (multiple times over past year) · Rumors of mold--not surprising based on numerous leaks--don't properly remediate--use a fan to blow air and paint over. · Kitchen sink had no hot water for over 2 minutes. · Cheap linoleum floors peel. · Jacuzzi leaks and lack of hot temperature. · A/C  broke 2x when away and came back to 90 degree apartment. Lucky dog wasn't home or would have died. · Fire pit has been broken and in disrepair for past year--still broken. · Pet Relief Area. Put in sharp shale rocks in Per Relief Areas. Mgt told residents go across street or to park 1/2 mile away. · Coffee machine broken and disrepair for past year. Currently broken for past 2 months. No update or ETA. · Management is demeaning and treats staff horribly--seen as holds meetings in lobby. Anders and Faith mentioned by others in post have left. o Believe due to constant tenant complaints and poor mgt. · Windows not cleaned since Oct 2020 per resident. Ours not cleaned in past year--filthy. · Lack of security--known broken security pads allowed access from street level. Mgt knew and didn't fix until multiple tenant complaints. · Access to garage at night/weekends a nightmare due to restaurant traffic as only 1 entrance/exit. · Garage door--didn't work consistently for year. Only recently fixed. · Appliances--range, dishwasher and dryer--poor quality. · Refrigerator ice line froze. · Resident recently trapped in elevator for hour+. Apparently not fist time. · Electrical short/fire in apartment. read more

Over it. Use to really like this place, they but decided to shut the pool down for "maintenance" for 2 weeks when it is literally 100 out (aka doing cabana work) They give some excuse of "it was winter" it was 70 out for 8 weeks straight and all other apartment communities got their pool fix, upgraded and repaired for 4 weeks before Memorial Day. This is horrible. Fix you cabana your cabana in September. update- posted 10 seconds ago!and they sent this out? Ummmmmmmmm???? why the hot tub is down??? Turn the baby on and fire it up. I used to enjoy living here until I moved out after seven years for a bigger space. They somehow got my apartment mixed up with another apartment and said that there were damages when I moved out. I left my apartment in perfect shape. I have spoken to Rajaa the building manager and Joseph one of her employees and they both have acknowledge that this was a mistake on their end. They sent me to a collection agency which has lowered my credit score by 39 points and I had perfect credit prior. Trying to get this worked out has been an absolute nightmare. I moved out in June and I'm still dealing with this issue and it's October. Furthermore, I never got my deposit back even though they have admitted at my apartment was in perfect shape when I moved out. read more

I moved in to Steele Creek August 2018 and have been subject to constant construction, noise and dust. I work from home so this has been a HUGE inconvenience. The elevator is often down to one operating. Even though I clean often, I still have construction dust coming out from behind the baseboards. The quality of construction is substandard. As an architect I would never have signed off on the installation and would have had a massive list of repairs. The windows leak every time it rains and the cooling system turns on intermittently when turned off. When I leased the apartment there was no disclosure that they were going to be doing major renovations and repairs over the next year. Since I pay a premium for this apartment, one would think that a notification and commensurate discount would be offered. I have complained multiple times to the leasing office and they have no authority to offer any compensation. Props to the staff (concierge, maintenance, etc) as they are great. It is the building itself and the corporate policies that are at fault. DO NOT RENT HERE!! read more

I lived here for a year and would like to provide general feedback on my experience. To keep it to just the facts I am going to outline pros and cons of the property. At first it was great (after opening) then management turned and it went downhill fast. Pros: *Concierge Team - the concierge team is fantastic. They are such wonderful people and are client service rockstars. *Cleaning Team - there are two gentlemen (to my knowledge/that I've spoken to) who maintain all of the grounds (outside and inside) and they do a good job. This is a 500+ unit huge building. *Nice outdoor spaces and balconies on most units. *Location - this building is conveniently situated within walking distance to anything you need. *Floorplans - wide selection of floorplans with views when facing west. *Yoga studio and gym *rooftop with an infinity pool and hot tub *Superb sushi restaurant on the first floor - Matsuhisa *On-site storage units for rent Cons: *Apartment - While I like my apartment, I moved into a dirty apartment which really bothered me. I took lots of pictures of this on moving day - it appeared the place had never been thoroughly cleaned. No one gave me a formal walk through either and on move in day they seemed surprised to see us. *cheap quality- the cabinets were plastic throughout and the floors are laminate - I think you have to have one of the $5k+ "penthouses" to get better fixtures. *Management - unresponsive would be the best description here. Emails and inquiries went unanswered and weren't handled in a timely manner. There were other issues but I won't go into that in detail other than it rubbed us the wrong way and was highly unprofessional. *Landscaping- Not maintained at all - is this not in the budget? *Utilities- expensive! Avg. monthly utilities of $163. The common electric is divided up among residents- it was around $73 on my last bill and my unit's electricity was only $26. So you pay a pretty penny to keep all the amenities going. *Parking - the parking garage spaces are unassigned and should be assigned. There is no guest parking. What spots were designed for resident parking on the first floor are now monopolized by valet and parking for the retail shops where you will towed. *Security needs an overhaul. There was a high-profile burglary here which you can find via a quick Google search and Management did not handle this in a transparent and timely manner. Residents were not informed of precautions that would be taken to ensure this wouldn't happen again - in fact, we were never really informed of anything other than a "theft" in the building had occurred. In addition to this issue, I have been the victim of a personal theft while living here. I have a nice bike and my panniers were stolen off of my bike during the first 6 months of living here. This shocked me since my bike was U-Locked on one of the top floors in our supposedly secure parking garage. When I informed management of this I was told to file a claim with my renters insurance - too bad there are no security cameras and I wasn't able to see the culprit on camera. I'm lucky I only had my panniers stolen as I spoke to other neighbors who had their seats and entire bikes stolen. I realize crime can happen, but really this is unacceptable in a building of this caliber. *lack of oversight- they'd just send maintenance outside contractors into apartments to do repetitive building/maintenance repairs unaccompanied by a Steele Creek representative. *Even though this is a Non- Smoking property there's still plenty of people who smoke on their patios and in their units which is really unfortunate. *There is not a loading dock and the parking is an issue so moving should be done on a weekday and avoid moving on a weekend at all costs. Because I couldn't lock down an elevator, even though I reserved it, my move cost me about $400 over budget due to time wasted. *Maintenance - There is one maintenance guy last I was told who services this building and the Acoma building (another complex) that UDR owns so scheduling anything is more timely than I've experienced before. There is no response within 24,48 or even 72 hours. I've had to email and ask about the status of all of my maintenance requests. From other people I've spoken to in other apartment buildings they simply call someone and someone shows up like 5 minutes later. Here at Steele creek you have to go though a Portal and request your service, and tick tock just wait on someone to get back to you. This really isn't acceptable for what you pay to live here. Overall it was just ok. I wouldn't live here again unless it goes back to the way it was the first few months it was open. read more

My husband, daughter, and I recently decided to relocate to Denver from the Northeast, we decided to look at all the high end buildings in the Denver area.  We quickly narrowed down the playing field, and decided on the Cherry Creek area.  Just so you know, I have spent my entire hotel career opening and/or managing luxury hotels including several St. Regis properties.  So, its safe to say, I have an eye for detail and pretty much notice everything and everyone.   I knew the minute we walked into Steele Creek Apartment complex, this entity was a stand out for a variety of reasons.  First and foremost, the staff is impeccable, and once we started interfacing with Anders Torgersen, I quickly realized that he had the smarts, expertise, poise, sophistication, and genuine care that is extremely rare to find in today's world.  In essence, Anders and the concierge team working that afternoon gave me the confidence that Steele Creek was a well run building, considering that they were able to attract this level of talent.  At my previous hotel companies, I was known for having an eye for talent and having the ability to spot those that really possess the skills and expertise required to run a property at a five start level vs. those that really don't know how to execute or have a lack of care. The Steel Creek team has consistently risen to the occasion with the multitude of questions that we constantly have in preparation for our move and transition. Next, throughout our tour of the property, the design of the building was not only absolutely stunning, but the housekeeping of the public spaces were virtually spotless! This is a pet peeve of mine and all the other buildings we looked at were not immaculate. Considering that the residents are constantly using the public facilities, this showed us the quality and service levels at the property, quite impressive.  I felt like we were viewing the building right before a lifestyle photo shoot. I don't usually take the time to write reviews; however, true excellence is so rarely achieved and should be admired and applauded! read more

I really dislike leaving negative reviews, but in the two years that we have lived in Steele Creek Apartments, our apartment has flooded THREE times. This last time -- this current time -- beginning at 2 am, with the water coming from three floors above us. I suppose that my advice would be, if you choose to move here, laminate all of your paintings. The views are lovely, though. read more

Local staff and maintenance are helpful and prompt. Great location in Cherry Creek. Amenities are tops.

I have lived here for just nearly a year. I can tell you that when I first moved in it was an outstanding place. Management was attentive, the place was kept up well. It lived up to the tagline of apartment living like a 5 star hotel. Since the original management has left this place has gone down hill fast. Maintenance requests are not answered unless you hound them, there has been a variety of things stolen from the building, most recently a high profile theft that you can find on any news site, no security (many of the security camera don't work anymore), the building's upkeep is lacking and the management is HORRIBLE! If you need to find a place here in Cherry Creek, there are many more alternatives that are nicer and better managed. This place is not worth the money that you will pay! read more
