Been playing consistent golfer just over two years now and my buddy waited to take me to this course till I got to a certain level. I was glad he had me wait. lol. Unfortunately, our round had a lot of wind and rain, so it wasn't as enjoyable as I wanted it to be, but I loved the course and we will come back. My friend wasn't kidding when he said bring a lot of balls. There are a ton of narrow fairways, elevated tees, and multilevel greens. That said, I thought the course was well taken care of and extremely creative. To say it is a challenge for an average golfer would probably be an understatement, but if you enjoy a challenge like I do, this is a great course to prove where your game is really at. After the round, we hung out and got something to eat, and all of us were really pleased with our food and the waitress was great. I'm looking forward to going back with much better weather and hopefully much better play on my part.

Poor experience. Prepaid $190 for a tee time. 30min uber out into the mountains, nobody was there at bag drop, a couple guys on their phones in the cart return area doing nothing. Walked into pro shop, guys weren't over the top friendly or welcoming. Sold me a range receipt with a code but didn't give much direction, which left me wandering around with my bag looking for where to walk to. Range was packed, had to wait for a spot to hit some balls. Starter seemed overwhelmed with a big tournament that went out immediately before my tee time, but eventually got me in a cart and sent me off to the tee box 1 of Canyons course. My fault to miss the sign pointing to 2nd tee box, so I ended up teeing off on 9th - that was my fault I should have paid more attention. Eventually got through 4 holes in 60 minutes after a combined 40min standing on tee boxes and fairways, and decided to just head back and do something else with my day. Got back to cart return, nobody said a word to me, still some dudes standing around doing nothing, I called an uber and went back to hotel. $300 morning for 6holes of 1hr of golf and I was not impressed. The cart lady was super nice, apologized for the slow play, and was genuinely friendly. Also views were sick, crazy elevation changes and challenging play. Probably will not be back..

This is a great place to host an event for large groups. We came in to celebrate Mother's day and had the champagne brunch, and it was packed with people. The seating area was decorated in purple and floral designs, the workers were attentive but slow in bringing us champagne we requested several times. There was an oyster and shrimp bar that we were excited about and it was really good, there was also a breakfest and meat station with very juicy but fatty roast beef, I had turkey that was really good. They also had a burrito station that I missed out on because the line was crazy long and then a small dessert table inside. As nice as the brunch was, the cost was not worth it at $65+ per person, it was very pricey for the kind of food served, we were expecting something more higher end.

Probably one of the best courses in SoCal! I love the staff always friendly and awesome course conditions. 3 Different 9 Holes so I can always mix it up with the sides I play. I'll be coming here for many more years to come. If you haven't yet come check out this awesome club.

Great experience at this course. We had a large outing here, scramble style. The course is in excellent condition, raked bunkers, nice tee boxes, consistent greens etc. the design of the course is great, just difficult enough to be fun. Friendly staff and a nice vibe in the clubhouse. Recommend it!

The courses are awesome but a little more challenging than I expect which is good. Lots of blind shots and the greens were a bit fast. Really enjoyed the round. We played the ranch and vineyard with is called (meadows) on the gps. The only negative things is for $105 you would expect better carts with GPS and they didn't have that. It took 3 holes and calling the pro shop to figure what to select on the Garmin deal

Nice course! Helpful Staff. 4 stars because their were multiple vehicles in the parking lot that took up two spaces.

This will be straight and to the point with a price point of $165 for the condition of the course in the pictures I think it's very greedy if you are going to do aeration at least give some sort of a discount. I will not be returning. 2 stars because the staff was really nice.

I'm so late writing this review. We had an Amazing experience at Steele Canyon Golf Club. Barry is so kind and ready to make your special day one to remember. We appreciated his attentiveness , calm demeanor, and warm approach to preparing us for our big day. It's was a great planning experience and our wedding was awesome! Our Harry Potter theme really came together. Thank you Barry!

Great track, friendly staff, granite countertop fast greens. Worth the minimal commute and would definitely play there again.

Nice course, but could do a lot better for how much they charge for green fee and rental clubs.

Looks like it has never been maintained. Just udderly bad! 2. Place of play. Took us (as a 3 someone) 5.5 hours to play a round of golf. The marshalls out there not sure what they are doing. The two group ahead of us looked like they never played golf before in their life. We waited on each hole for at least 5 to 10 mins as we watch the group ahead of us hit their balls maybe 15 yards each time. 3. Fairways. What fairways. Can we say dirt with a sprinkle of grass? Have they not heard of water? You know the H2O stuff? I hear that it really makes stuff grow! 4. The greens. Super slow. I mean how slow can you possibly make them? 5. The plaques on each tee box where worning and old. You could hardly tell how what the yardage was from black down to red. 6. The carts had no GPS and looked old and worn. Now the positive... the food at the turn. Got a 1/2 sandwich (ham, cheese, lettuce, and tomato). It was pretty good and they didnt price gouge you. Oh and the lady running the bar was fantasic. The club house empolyees could use some training on being more friendly. Needless to say that this was my first and last time playing Cottonwood. I thought Castle creek was in bad shape but this is right up there!!!! Save your 75 dollars and play somewhere else. You have been warned!

There are some gopher holes in the rough but none on the fairways. I also play the Navy courses weekly and the rate for retired DOD is comparable with Enagic. This course is a great value for the cost. I would rather play Enagic than Torrey Pines.

Patchy fairways and sand traps that are practically mud. I have no idea what happened along how the course has seemed to go backwards. Inwas recently there and just saw that they require you to purchase a residence card for $40 so you can get the residence fee? I can just show you that I live in this area via other documents. Seems like a money grab which is in poor taste. A bucket of balls for the range has gotten expensive as well! Not sure if I recommend this course or not. If youre paying $150 to play the course then its absolutely not worth it. For that price you should go to higher end courses. If you catch twilight hours its a reasonable price. I certainly wont be golfing here as much as I used to for a price tag that high. Hope they change some things. Staff have always been really nice here however so thats a nice plus.

The location is really nice because there are a lot of people around and it's pretty secure as it is away from the traffic in the street. You have to be careful because there is horse poop sometimes frequently on the trail pathways. Sometimes you also will find that people don't pick up after their dogs and so just be careful to not step in any dog poop as well. They really have done a great job with maintaining this trail around the golf course. The path goes from behind the CV Bonita Branch library all the way around and behind Jack-in-the-Box and Better Buzz Coffee. Continuing on, there is also a new bridge section that has been put up within the last 5 years, which is a nice transition over the small pond that exists near the end of the course. As you continue around past the bridge, you approach the back of some homes and backyards, and then the Rohr Park. The trail actually goes all the way through the park and back to the horse corrals, then back around Central Avenue. Once you turn from Central back to Bonita Road, you're on the home stretch. This is a 3 mile walk when you take one trip around this course trail. It is refreshing and nice and there are a lot of people that walk it so make sure that you get a chance to enjoy it.
