Last weekend, while my son was driving on Jamul Drive, a golf ball struck his vehicle and shattered the windshield. He went to the pro shop and spoke with Alan, one of the managers, hoping for some guidance or assistance. Instead, Alan offered no help, showed very little concern, and made my son feel as though the incident was somehow his fault. I understand that the course may not accept direct responsibility for every stray golf ball, but basic customer service and compassion should still matter. At the very least, Steele Canyon could have offered a few rounds of golf or some other gesture to help offset the unexpected cost of replacing the windshield. After living here and supporting the course for so many years, the complete lack of concern was extremely disappointing. From now on, we will gladly drive a little farther to play at a course that values its neighbors and customers. Thank you, Alan and Steele Canyon Golf Club, for showing us exactly how little our support means.

It is a great course for those just getting into golf with 9 holes ranging from distances of 80 yards to the longest at around 170 yards. The fairways, greens and tee box were all really well maintained. Highly recommend playing a round on the Pine Glen 9 hole course for those looking to get some playing time but don't want to commit to 18 holes. It is also a very beginner friendly course and a very walkable course if you don't want to rent a golf cart. Singing Hills Golf Club has a wonderful facility with plenty of parking, driving range, putting area, pro shop and restaurant on site.

The moment you step into the clubhouse you realize the vast history of the location. For example, some parts are in need of major repair, but there are also nearly 100 years of player trophies and accomplishments on display in a large lobby time has not touched (nor cleaners, painters, renovators...but I digress). Don't miss the unbeatable hilltop views out the back of hole 1 and hole 18 side-by-side with the cityscape in the background. The same view can be seen from the restrooms, giving this place the best view from the loo award. I played the regulation 18 (they also have a nine hole executive course). The course was in good to very good condition. It's a fun, unique track and there are some very narrow holes, but fair enough because they are shorter. Accuracy off the tee is favored over length on most of the holes. There are also a few challenging elevation changes, but not many blind approach shots, which I don't think anyone enjoys. It's a fun track that keeps you on your toes. Many holes are lined by canyons so errant shots on those will be lost. Another unique aspect is that Balboa Park sits under the landing path of the airport. I tried to catch an airplane in my photos and it was pretty easy to in most all of them. Pace of play was fine at 4.5 hours on a weekday afternoon. Staff was friendly, but they deal with a lot of people so I could see how things could go sideways as some reviews have mentioned. Just exercise the golden rule. If you play golf and live in San Diego, I say this is a must play at least once. I'll be back again when I'm in the right mood.

We made the drive from Las Vegas to play Torrey Pines, and it was worth every mile. This is one of…read morethose bucket list golf courses that completely lives up to the hype. The course is in phenomenal condition, with beautifully maintained fairways, immaculate greens, and breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean throughout the round. Watching the hang gliders soar overhead while you're playing makes the experience even more memorable. The South Course is definitely challenging, but that's part of what makes it so much fun. You can tell you're playing on a course that's hosted major championships, yet it's still a public course that anyone can experience. Every hole feels unique, and you'll find yourself stopping more than once just to take in the scenery. After the round, we ate at The Grill at Torrey Pines overlooking the course. The food was delicious, the service was friendly, and relaxing on the patio with those incredible golf course views was the perfect way to end the day. The Grill at Torrey Pines is absolutely worth checking out if you're playing a round. (Wish I took more photos) Whether you're a serious golfer or just love visiting iconic courses, Torrey Pines is an unforgettable experience. It's easy to see why golfers from around the world make the trip. We'll definitely be back!

The front desk assured me I would have an amazing view, but instead, I ended up looking at someone else's window and bushes. This was very disappointing and not what was promised. I called and spoke with someone who said they would look into it and call me back, but it has now been a month and I still have not heard anything. The lack of communication, inaccurate room expectations, and poor customer service have been extremely disappointing. This experience alone is enough that I would not return.

WOHOOOO! I don't know if that makes sense. But, what I mean is that he will incrementally improve your swing by showing you the TECHNIQUE, not just showing you how to do it and how others do it. Everything is personalized and very detailed. Paul goes over everything: how you stand, the language, the grip, your back, your knees, your arms, your "cool swing" look, distance, and accuracy. After only 2 lessons, I was already hitting the range by myself and actually hitting them pretty decent! On top of it all, Paul is FUNNY and knowledgeable. He is great all the way around! He is 100% the best coach around!

He is also very reasonable as normally private lessons are upwards of $80 an hour for someone of his caliber.
