7 of us ate there tonight. Most ordered price fixed 5 course meal. The meal was excellent. I had rib eye steak, smashed potatoes, mixed veggies. Plus cheese and fruit plate, salad, the didn't have soup but pasta with tomatoes and cheese which had a Smokey smell to it. Steak looked it was sous vide and seared to perfection. Same color throughout for a seared edge covered in a balsamic glaze. This is a small restaurant and its is highly recommended to make reservations. If you are looking for impressive atmosphere stay in vegas. This place doesn't look like much. But food was most excellent and staff very attentive. Tonight price died was $110 and rib eye was $50 for 1lb steak. There are a couple cheaper dinners but if you're making the drive then it's worth the price. Oh yeah. They did not have any beers on draft, but they had a fair selection of canned beers. We ordered a burger that was flavorful but well done/dry. The only side options were a salad or mashed potatoes. This restaurant did not have any condiments, nor any french fries which I expect from a place like this. There is charm in its simplicity. We had to call again and the staff said they were closed on the exact day of our reservation. Encountered the worst/racially profiled/discriminated attendant at this restaurant. I had a 6pm reservation and arrived afew minutes late after driving 40 minutes from Pahrump. I called the restaurant in advance to make sure it would be okay. However, after we got in the attendant refused to seat us although there was an empty table. A table for 2 and he refused to add one more chair. He was both confrontational and unprofessional. There was no other customers after that so it wasn't because of others' reservation. The place is small very however the food was great but extremely pricey $$$$ considering they only bathrooms they have are port o potty's out back . No sinks !!! After being out In the hot springs all day I was hoping to wash my hands . It has a Texas chainsaw massacre vibe back where the port o potty's are happy I went during the day . They need to also step up the chairs and tables out front everything looked so worn and run down . If you wanna charge 18 bucks for a over cooked palm sized burger buy some chairs . It is a small place so reservations are recommended. They take your name during the call but when you walk in and say you have reservations you are grilled on everything but the name given during the reservations. Just a bit odd. We did not have the excellent experience others talk about. The filet was cooked to medium rare perfection and seasoned well. The ribeye was charred and overcooked. Repeatedly came here during business hours, well over an hour before closing, and this place was either completely closed with lights out, or the owner just turned me away because he didn't feel like cooking. Can only imagine the quality of the food in a place with such low work ethics where they can't stick to their own advertised business hours and scramble to close up as early as possible, as well as treat their customers like a nuisance. Also heard from a few friends and locals that the food here is far below average, yet very overpriced. Always pick tecopa brewing company over this place. Without a doubt worst server I have ever met. Ordered a T-bone and a bluemoon. The server was rude and not even a welcome whatsoever. When he brought in the food he dropped the plate from 1 feet high and BANG!! Not once did he come back on the meal he just play with his creepy phone forever. Pretty miserable experience for my myself and my friends! We had a 10 mile biking from shoshone inn and stopped by this restaurant hoping for great food and service. Ordered the 5 course prefix. After that was wait for about 30min and nothing happened. Only after I told the waiter we will be leaving did we receive our order within one minute. The waiter seemed not like us from the moment we entered the room he was bad tempered and slammed the door as soon as we left the restaurant it almost hit my ankle. Have to say this restaurant is a tiny hut. When we 3 entered the restaurant I asked if we could seat at the booth. The waiter said "I would have seated you there I could". I disliked his attitude but decided to stay as a rare rainstorm was outside closing in Badwaters. After a short while another group of 3 came in and he seated them at the booth! He was rude after we rejected his proposal and ordered veggie option only, he said "as you wish" and disappeared. We waited 30 minutes until we got our salad and veggie burger. Is 5 stars all that I can put? One word....AH-MAE-ZING!!!!! Omg I have been trying to get down to this little place in Tecopa, CA for a long time and it just never worked out. Well last night I finally got down there and man I will be going back for sure. Small rustic little place with like 12 tables and a bar with 3 stools. That's it and it's perfect. Off the beaten path in a little town in CA called Tecopa. Couple of tables inside with a couple outside and some on a little raised patio area. The hours are short so make sure you plan accordingly. I don't have a lot of great pics of the place as a whole as it was night time so hard to get them. Rest assured it does not look like anything special but if you pass it up on looks you are a moron because you are missing an amazing meal. Very small but diverse menu for people plus a chefs sampler for two which I need to try out next time. I had the Orchard salad (greens with some strawberry, blueberry, apple slices and a dressing that was to die for), a 1lb ribeye cooked to perfection with I think the chef / owner, Eric, called a red wine butter/reduced balsamic type glaze on top WOW!!! I finished off with a Cherry Jubilee which was vanilla ice cream with some chocolate chips in it and a cherry topping that was warmed up. The whole meal was fantastic and the ingredients were like they were farm fresh. He has a decent beer selection and a wine list as well ( I don't do wine), that should cover most peoples needs. Sodas and water too for those that prefer them. After the meal I sat by the fire pit outside and talked with the other guests who had also finished their meal and were just relaxing. Man living in Vegas and all the great restaurants there I would definitely rather make this drive than go to one of those places. Eric it was fantastic and I will definitely be returning more often. It seems like we made some menu choices that didn't go with the 5 star reviews. First this place is not easy to find. Look for the shack next to the still pond. Buying a few sets of matching tables and chairs would go a long way to upgrade the appearance of the place. We ordered burgers, which were good sized though over seasoned. I also enjoy a good juicy rare burger, these came out well done, which I kinda expected after not being asked how we want them cooked. No kids menu so we ordered the vegetable pasta for the kids. They love veggies and noodles. The veggies were not the best assortment, small pieces and no texture to them. The pasta was a gluten free option, and very starchy. Fail for the kids. So it seems like this is the place for steaks, but stay away from the rest of the menu. We were not trying to eat cheap, we just didn't want to wrangle toddlers while trying to enjoy a steak. read more

So we just spent a few days out in Shoshone and heard about this amazing place from fellow travelers. We finally decided to check it out and it is honestly one of the greatest highlights of our entire trip! The space of the establishment is simply awesome! It's filled with fun rustic signs, lights, and other cool posters! My friend and I decided to share the Rib Eye Steak between us and I've NEVER had a rib eye that melts with ever bite! The sides that accompanied the steak was really good too! Some mixed veggies and fruits with a very rich mashed potato. Eric was a one man army that prepped, cooked to order, took care of guest and basically ran the entire place by himself (until her helper came a little while after). After our meal we ended up hanging out outside where a fire had been set up and enjoyed the rest of our evening. Passing through from Death Valley to Zion, stayed over in Tecopa and had dinner here. They seem to have a high bar on quality and it showed-food was delicious! We were staying at the very rustic Tecopa Hot Springs. Everything was closed on Monday, but the manager said there was a "delicious" little place down the road in Tecopa so off we went. It was tiny; we ate outdoors under gas heat. I thought the place was a hoot! Way better than we had expected to find (and way more expensive). Picky sister-in-law got a burger cooked exactly as she like it. Pink but not raw. I got the filet mignon, which was also very well-prepared and way better quality than I had a right to expect in the desert. The mashed potatoes were perfect and even passed my wife's taste test. Our owner/server/chef could have been interpreted as rude and off-putting but we thought he was a stitch. All in all, an eccentric little place with good meat and beer in the middle of nowhere. We made reservations for six people, showed up early hoping the brewery was open next door. Brewery was not open but that was not a problem - Steak and Beer made us so welcome (Eric), called us in for beer and wine and the evening began. We all selected the price fixed meal that was an appetizer, salad,soup,entree and desert.. the food was absolutely amazing!!! The cheese plate had a great variety, the salad was fresh and flavorful, the potato soup was amazing the rib eye was cooked to order and the Cherries Jubilee.....no words. OK is what threw us, We arrived to what appeared to be a shack with a pond that required love but we so0n found out it was only a cover. The place, food and service were over the top.
